Jack and Jim
Hi folks. I'm on the road in FL headed for the panhandle and my 89 Dolphin (V6) is overheating. Any mechanic recommendations? Heelllp!
WME
Emergency DIY nothing to lose. Go to a DIY car wash and use the pressure washer to blast the radiator and AC condenser clean of all the bugs and road junk. Cold engine check coolant level in radiator and recovery tank. I don't know which way your going, but if your going south pure water cools better, BUT lowers the boiling point. If your going north, forgetabout it.
fred heath
A bottle of Red Line Water Wetter might also help. Available at most parts departments and box stores.
linda s
Or maybe it needs the thermostat changed. Not too expensive to have done at a shop Linda S
Scott iv
I've been a motor club member for years; especially since I've been driving different old RV's. Not an ideal time to mention for this member, but for other owners or future owners of these old motorhomes. AAA gets your motorhome where it sits and will drag it to a shop within 100 miles.
