  1. I have a little Sunrader and 20 more horsepower would certainly make it feel like a rocket. I can only dream. Linda S
  2. Says Toyota mini motorhome. Those are the only size for all our rigs except pre-84. For those they are available for front or back only, don't remember which and they are just truck shocks not heavy duty motorhome. You got the right ones Linda S
  3. This looks like it's going to be a super build. Your Chinook coach started out as one of the empty commercial van models. Got the bigger back door and little windows on the sides. Most of the Chinook camper models have big side windows. Looking forward to your progress Linda S
  4. The CSF one should be all metal. I have the same radiator in mine except that mine is the 2 row. Ad says metal tank and plastic tank so I think it's a mistake. See ad for same radiator at Amazon. Clearly says all metal http://www.amazon.com/CSF-Toyota-4Runner-Pickup-Radiator/dp/B000CFRKS8 JC Whitney is a better price though Linda S
  5. Does your cushion have a zipper so the outside cover can be removed. Is the fabric otherwise in good condition or badly worn. Is your center cut out section drooping or straight There is no place I know of that provides stock replacements. You either need to be a do it yourselfer or find a local upholstery shop to make you one. I managed to save my lost cause upholstery by removing the covers and washing them in a big Laundromat washer with detergent and oxyclean. Saved the foam too with oxyclean spray and sunlight. UV rays kill mold very nicely. Linda S
  6. Looks like my kind of place. No alligators? Only thing that worries me about Florida. Had one chase me when I was a kid at my aunts winter place there. Still scared Linda S
  7. Then you're good. I only asked cause I see many New Horizons that haven't been upgraded. Hope you have a wonderful time in your new rig Linda S
  8. She already sold the Dolphin. She's rocking a super cool rear dinette Sunrader now and is already well into remodeling that one. See the pics with the blue cushions. Debbit is one serious Rv'er Linda S
  9. My umbrella can be taken apart and fits in a small plastic bag about 3 1/2 feet long. Maybe weighs 5 lbs. The base of course is just an empty plastic thing when your traveling and weighs zip. All goes under the table in the back with plenty of room to still put your feet down. Besides if there's a nice spot by the creek I can put it up anywhere I want. Fishing in the shade is worth a million awnings Linda S
  10. They all have mounting bolts through the fiberglass and there should be some kind of bracket behind the fiberglass wall for extra support. I wouldn't put one on mine even though I know lots of toyhomes have them. I use a cheap drugstore patio umbrella, very light weight, and a base that you fill with water when you get to your camping spot. All the shade I need Linda S
  11. Here's a place in Albuquerque with 25 years experience and reasonable prices. Their installation charge is only 600 bucks which is super cheap. I have no experience with them but they sound like a good option. Better to be closer than thousands of miles away http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/pts/4388262518.html Linda S
  12. Well these are the vins of the ones no longer covered. So if yours is not on here your good. Linda S
  13. Look here. http://toyotamotorhome.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=6305&page=1 Click on the link then scroll down to page 65 and see if you vin is listed. Last numbers only and your looking for cab and chassis long wheel base. If local dealer won't help call toyota corporate and have them open a case for you and find a dealer that will do the work. It is not technically a recall. So Tell them it's a Special Service Campaign. They need your vin to check and see if it's already been done but you can ask the dealer to check that. It's supposed to be in their computers Linda S
  14. You should probably blow up the bags to max pressure when your under there checking. Room to see and possibly more air coming out. I don't quite understand how both bags could be leaking at the same rate. Two completely separate systems there and the likely hood of exact same size holes in both places seem strange. I use a little 12 volt air compressor to inflate my air bags. No driving to a gas station with super low bags that might cause more damage. You also need to determine what air bags you have installed so you can price replacement bags if you need them Linda S
  15. No one has asked yet but is your axle in the rear 5 lug or 6. Linda S
  16. Your dual wheel pickup was never made in 4wd so pretty sure the 2wd pan is the correct one. Linda S
  17. Well I never use city water. If you just use the water from the tank you can turn it on and off with the pump and there is less pressure in the lines. Did you have a pressure reducer on the hose when you attached it. Full city water pressure is too much for our old water lines to handle. Linda S
  18. How far away are you from the states. Anywhere near a camping world? You could also check the shipping here. http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/shroud-for-mini-mach/61890 Linda S
  19. Sheets are light weight fabric. Not upholstery grade. Your rig is one of the newest ones and possibly quite valuable. Yes if you want to do it yourself you need to know how to sew. Shop around and get some estimates on new upholstery. What you spend will surely add the same value to your motorhome. Some adult education programs have upholstery classes. Maybe you can find one and do it right yourself. Linda S
  20. Where did you find the O rings. A member on another group is looking for some of those same rings. The Coleman Mini-Mach hasn't been made in a very long time. One from a salvage yard might be just a brittle as the one that was on it. It's a very desired AC unit cause it can be run easily with a Honda 2000 generator. All the ones made now are too big for that. So baby it to keep it running longer. Here's the correct shroud for a little less depending on shipping http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rv-Products-Mini-Mach-Shroud-Artic-White-6727-3761-/231218362949?pt=Motors_RV_Trailer_Camper_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35d5b03a45&vxp=mtr Linda S
  21. Using this site you might be able to find one close to where you live. http://www.car-part.com/ Put in 1990 for the year. Toyota truck. axle with housing, then your zip. You'll get listings nationwide but you'll need to start calling cause many of these listings are not updated frequently. Be aware the you will need new shock mounts welded, brake cable modifications and new wheels if they don't come with the axle. Total cost will probably be more than your 83 is worth unless your mechanic friends work for free. Linda S
  22. I lost a water heater door under the same conditions. Replacement parts are available. AC looks like a Coleman. Some on ebay or you can search rv stores. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=coleman+replacement+cover&_qfkw=1&_mqf=0&_osacat=50067&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR2.TRC1.A0.H0.Xcoleman+air+conditioner+shroud&_nkw=coleman+air+conditioner+shroud&_sacat=50067 Is the fridge vent the top one or the access door. Here's the top http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dometic-RV-Refrigerator-Sidewall-Vent-3100451024-White-/390644444529?pt=Motors_RV_Trailer_Camper_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5af4392d71&vxp=mtr Here's the door http://www.ebay.com/itm/Refrigerator-Service-Vent-Door-/130936462558?pt=Motors_RV_Trailer_Camper_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e7c6bdcde&vxp=mtr These old style fridge parts are much harder to find. I don't know if the newer ones will fit Linda S
  23. Go here the group main page http://toyotamotorhome.org/forums/index.php?act=idx Click on the category you want to post in. Then look on the upper right hand side and click on start new topic. Then post away. Give your topic a name so people know what they are looking at. If you don't like how it turned out delete it and try again Linda S
  24. This thread is getting enormous. If you are doing an interesting project that might help someone in the future it would be much better if you started a new thread so others can find it. If you do a search and the info is in here they get to search through 30 or more pages to find your good info. Fine for a quick update but stuff you want others to have easy access to should be in your own thread Linda S
  25. Did you ever see these pics from Dudevato on the Chinook site of how he incorporated a tach and other gauges into his existing dash. Really cool work. https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/toyotachinook/photos/albums/442504520 Linda S
