  1. Problem solved. With the help of a volt meter and someone who knows how to use one, we found that the circuit protector was not working. Put some alligator clips on it to jump it across and there's power. New circuit protector ordered and we're good to go. Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions.
  2. Ok, done all that. Checked breakers, put lamp on, and nothing. Even found the governor linkage and idled it up a touch, only by ear, to basically as high as sounded proper, (a little crude and inacurate i know) however, when doing this i had the lamp plugged in and nothing even when revved at a higher rpm. Still baffled. I need a voltmeter to really have a go i guess.
  3. Dont believe there is a transfer switch no. Is there? If there is, i have yet to find it. In my manual it basically says to fire it up and it should be at the right rpm? Still not giving power to the coach.
  4. hmmm, there is a 25 amp circuit protector on the front of the genny, with an "on off" function. that is "on" where apparently it is suppose to be. As for another one, not that i am aware of. Also, i fire it up, then it idles, and i don't rev it more. Should i, do i do this by just pulling on the throttle cable?
  5. It seems as tho my Kohler genset is not supplying power to the coach in my 1993 Itasca Spirit. The 25amp circuit protector is on, and the shore power plug is plugged into the receptacle right next to the genset. No power. When plugged in to shore power, the cord works just fine, but as said, not when using the genset as a source of power. Any suggestions for this newbie? Thank you in advance.
  6. Linda, i found the o rings at a local hydraulic shop. They are not very common. It seems as tho a hydraulic or diesel shop are the only options for these o rings unless your order them through an o ring supplier. I will get the exact size of the o rings and post later. As for the shroud. The link you sent me for ebay is the same shroud yes, however, for that supplier to actually get it to me in the almighty north here in Canada, it is apprx $300 in shipping. for a $154 part. Ridiculous.
  7. So here is an update. The 93 has arrived!! It is a beauty. After doing a once over, and testing the systems, almost everything worked top notch. The only major (which was actually pretty minor) was when i hooked it up to shore water, the "drain valves" located next to the hot water tank under the microwave were leaking inside. I took the valves out, and upon further inspection realized that the problem was the 2 little tiny o ring seals inside each valve. It was difficult to find the o rings, due to there sizing, but eventually found them, installed them and the valve back on the floor, good as new, no leaks. Here is a question, Has anyone ever tried to replace the a roof top a/c units shroud or cover? I have found a possible source for a new one at about $275-$300. Is it silly of me to think i might find one at a scrap yard, or a used one? The model on mine is a Mini Mach 6700. Just feeling around to see if anyone has replaced one, or even better, one for sale. lol. Thanks in advance
  8. Hello everyone, considering putting a small flat screen tv in our MH. I would like to have this on the upper bunk, on the wall on the passenger side, but with a full motion tv wall mount, so you could see it in the overhead bunk, the couch, or at the table if need be. Is it possible to mount the mount on the wall, or should it be done to a cupboard or elsewhere? Has anyone installed a tv, if so, where is it, and how is it made secure. Thanks in advance.
  9. What years was there a head gasket recall? I have been pounding through this site and the information is wonderful. I have been camping for many years, mostly in a VW Westfalia. Really looking forward to the weather getting better and hitting the road on weekends. Cheers guys
  10. Thats a great piece to start with Derek. Well said. Thanks
  11. Best LP grills made are the small and portable Weber Q series. A touch costly, but the quality is second to none. Just my 2 cents. Happy grilling.
  12. Due to an illness in my family i have been lucky enough to have been given a 93 Spirt that is in excellent condition. I am very thankful and feel blessed to have been given this. I know how wonderful these Toyota rigs are as i have travelled in one as a young boy growing up with my parents. Now the question... If all you Toyota motorhome guru's where to give me one piece of advice, what would it be??? Please refrain on the jokes, im trying to get educated here. Thanks in advance.
