  1. It's hard to figure out what's going on in there. Your ceiling originally was the same paneling as your walls. Also looks like they dropped it down. There shouldn't be as much room between the ceiling and the fiberglass roof. You've got your work cut out for you. I painted the inside of my Nissan but everything was intact, just stained. Used Kilz and satin finish paint. Didn't want it shiny like semi-gloss but wanted an easier finish to clean. The satin worked out great. Linda S
  2. Hey Sue. sorry you decided to let it go. I know you did lots of work on it. They are such cool rigs but so rare it's hard to put a price on it. Gail gets the best price on EBay for the rigs she refurbishes. Widest possible audience. She takes lots of really good pictures and writes a clear description off all the nice things about it and everything she's done. Much like you just wrote in this post. Also you should mention that it's got a real toilet not a porta potty. Almost unheard of in a pop top. Good luck. Sorry we never got together. Post more pics. Most people don't even know what a Sunrader Adventure is. Linda S
  3. According to the guys at Marlin Crawler, 6 digits started in 1982 so he's fine. Should be the real mileage. Linda S
  4. yeah I was thinking heater core too. Ya never know if they really flushed everything unless you do it yourself Linda S
  5. No I wouldn't. I'd make do with less. My portable AC I use in my camper is 7000BTU's and a Honda would run it fine. I don't know what you guys are doing but I'm camping. Not staying at the Ritz. Linda S
  6. I have seen stick built Pont-X but the were larger tag axle models. This one looks to be about an 18 footer. Always neat to see ones I didn't know about Linda S
  7. Yes Pete I do remember your troubles. So glad you found a new one. Linda S
  8. Well for one so I can pick it up. For another, the Honda wins hands down for quiet. No I don't own one yet but I have had to walk over to Honda's at other campsites to see if it was even running. I have also left campsites cause the neighbors were running noisy ones. Very unpleasant Linda S
  9. I'm getting a very different pump http://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/toyota~pump~assy~water~16100-69225.html?Vin=JT5VN94T1K0007747&Filter=()&Location=water-pump,,16100 Linda S Oops yes it was replaced by the other number. Looks like the right one to me
  10. I'm not much for measuring stuff. I just use it until it doesn't work anymore. I can't count the times I've forgotten and left my fridge on 12 volt and didn't have enough power left to even light one of those itty bitty 12 volt lights in the camper. Never killed a battery that way yet. They always have charged up and always last about 5 years with a lot of use. 100 bucks at Walmart makes the cost about 5 cents a day. Not something I can get myself all worked up about. Linda S
  11. I am so happy this all worked out. You should be proud of yourself for sticking with your gut. Almost every Toyota site said it probably wasn't the ECM but in your case it was. Hope all your other updating, which looks fabulous by the way, comes out just the way you want. Linda S
  12. 77 axles were never recalled. He has single wheels and he's fine. of course it's a 77 so proper maintenance is important but no major changes needed Linda S
  13. Yes I have 2 86 Sunraders and the panel in the Nissan looks like this one and the Toyota is different. Not near the Nissan right now but when I get back there I will try to get it off enough to take a pic. Warning though it doesn't work so I don't know if that's wired properly either. Linda S
  14. You've got west coast Sunrader paneling. Only suburban furnaces used. There's the problem. Linda S
  15. Every tire built has a code to tell you where it was manufactured. Just check it and know for sure. People think Hankook's are Korean made but lots of them are made in China http://www.tiresafetygroup.com/tire-dot-plant-codes-sorted-plant-code/ Linda S
  16. Man that's nice. Still has the original upholstery on the dinette seats and original drawers in the closet. Those are usually the first thing to go missing. Great job. Linda S
  17. All you need is access to water and a dump station, not hookups. Lots of truck stops have dump stations and every gas station has water. Water at a dump is not potable but the stuff for your radiator is regular tap water. Drinking water is available at any store. There's a website that shows dump stations all over the country. Also most RV parks will just let you use the dump and get water for about 15 bucks. Oh and all truck stops will let you pay for a shower. Trucks are not fully self contained and truckers need showers too. Linda S
  18. The way I look at it is, I have a bigger shower and a real bed, at my house. If I'm traveling and feel the need for comfort I can stay in a hotel. With the Toy I can go great places and do fun things that I can't do anywhere else and those giant RV's can't get there either. Linda S
  19. Parked at a beach campground I was in between huge motorhomes. A jogger stopped and said oh my it looks like they had a baby and my little Sunrader has been called "Baby" every since. Can't imagine traveling in one of those behemoths. Linda
  20. The Nissan portable generators haven't been made in many years. I've only seen a few ever for sale and like Derek's link they were all low wattage. Linda S
  21. Well you have a V6 and I'm sure it would make it. Some tight turns but I saw work trucks on the road as long as a Toyota motorhome. RV's up to 25 feet are allowed. The only place I had a problem was the hill coming out of Mono Hot springs. The 4 cylinder just didn't have enough power. Go for it. Spectacular place. Your son will never forget it Linda S
  22. If the interior is about the same measurements as the Winnebago with the L dinette the table is about 25.5 by 16 and should be 30 inches above the floor. I just went by the sofa measurement which they give and calculated the size of the table. Not exact but should be close Linda S
  23. Yes it would look nice but I would never put a glass vase on my wall with water in it. Constant bouncing could start cracks that might shatter eventually Linda S
  24. I don't know how they do it either. At times we have had the whole group flagging scam ads for Toyota's and the ads still didn't come down. but I have been flagged in one day for offering a free entertainment center. Linda S
  25. Dollar store plastic vases and industrial strength Velcro. Easily removed to clean but as long as you don't put too much water in them they should stay on the wall just fine. https://www.dollartree.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=367533&green=0B443D30-C5AF-5AD9-AD1C-8636B635190A Linda S
