lostinbama2x
Hello all. I just wanted to get some ideas on what gauges would be the best to add.I know im going to add a transmission temp gauge. I like the 3 gauge pillar set up i've read about on here, so i need some suggestion to fill the other 2 holes. Im running an 86' 22re with 4spd auto. Look forward to hearing ideas. Thanks. mycomitan
Bama A vacuum gauge will help you a lot. Google Vacuum guage and read about them.
WME
The "classic"gauges are fuel, water temp, volt/amp, oil pressure. Don't forget maybe a tach. You already have the fuel, water temp ones and trannie temp in the add on cluster so of amps/ oil pressure, I would say oil pressure and a tach. powdrhound
My search for the 3 pod a-pillar led me to http://www.truckpillars.com/ He has them for 1984-1995 Toyota trucks. 2 or 3 pod. $79.50 to your door. They look nice.
Gulfstream Greg
Consider the digital transmission temp gauge from www.jcwhitney.com as the analog ones are somewhat of a guess when the temp gets really high. I would go with the trans temp, water temp and a volt meter, all digital. The volt meter would have a switch so you can see your coach or starting battery. Other option is someone else's suggestion and that's a vacuum gauge. It really does have many uses. Its pretty rare that an oil pump fails and hopefully you keep the level where it should be. I have always felt though that all gauges should have an audible alarm to get your attention.
sharpest
I recently bought the same gauge pillar. I also bought 3 new AutoMeter gauges off of Ebay. That is what I put in. Full sweep trans temp gauge http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugedetail.a...=2490&sid=2 Full sweep water temp gauge http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugedetail.a...=2491&sid=2 Half sweep oil preasure http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugedetail.a...=3449&sid=2 They look and work great. Good luck Bob
Maineah
http://www.tradervar.com/Digital-Automotive-Gauges-C9312.htm Pretty just about any digital gauge you may want and they include sensors with the gauges.
