mini-wini-dan
Greetings, I just changed the fluid in my 4 speed automatic transmission in my 22rec fi in an 86 toyota mini-wini. What I have heard is to check while the engine is running with the shift in park. I have also heard that refill takes 3-5 quarts. Anyone had experience with this? Derek up North
Agree with moving it a bit before a final check. Then again after you've driven it far enough to get it warmed up to full operating temperature. As for how much to put in, my 1992 Owners Manual says "22R-E, Drain and Refill: 2.5 quarts". WME
As Derek says drain and fill is 2.5 qts and a dry fill (new transmission) is 7 qts. So 3qts is a bit off. Drive it a bit and recheck. To much fluid can be bad, so check carefully.
