  1. i use dicor brand rv roof sealer too seal the edges and all the screws. sorry but you have to get on the roof to install and seal it down. and DO NOT use siliconeon your rv
  2. my son bought a scamp pulltrailer wit h very simuler problem shed fell on it . they are molded fiber glass. like a chinook. he was able to fix his . but yes he had experance working with glass cloth and reason
  3. i second the leak problem just replaced two cracked leaking plastic frame vents . with two new metal frame vents. recent early camp trip one week heavy rain last day bathroom and center vent leaking. these where original 1987 . when replacing vents aways replace with metal frame vents. cab over was already a newer metal frame unit.on another note the new suburban furnece worked great very quite and hot took a while too burn off the stink.
  4. on the older small toyota late 1980s the four wheel drive is much heaver built then the 2 wheel drive. i can get through my slider window on my empty 884WD . i am a person who can lock my keys inside. LOL.thats how i know i can go through it but i did say an empty truck.
  5. i think the six did have the filter in a better place . how do you move the gas filter from under the EFI manifold. on the 22REC. i had one 87 22R carb truck that filter was inside the rear fender. but that was all common low preasure line plastic filter .
  6. if you have that big four way flasher knob on the dash. pump it on and off a few times and see if that fixes it . i am serious corrision or dirt builds up on the four way switch it normaly never gets used much. this was a problem with the 7os trucks and campers. and when this happens the turn and fourway quit working. my 78 shortbox truck my 78 motor home . i had this happen
  7. that other one with the loop on one end is the front one frame over to the gas filter . which on the 4 cylinders is under the intake bolted too the side of the block. areal fun place to get at. my son had a workmate had a 4 runner with a gas leak . up at the frame. it burned up engine fire not a good thing. using the wrong fuel line can burst and do the same thing.
  8. is this for a carb 22R engine . fuel pressure is much much lower then the 22REC which is efi which do you have. with efi you must use high pressure fuel hose and special clamps.
  9. the fresh water tank is almost twice that of my dolphin witch is 16. as for the dump tanks i can do a week . in fact i just went for a week in the mtns . two 18 gallon waste tanks.and i would never part with my oven.
  10. lance makes some small pop up pickup campers i i have no idea the price , i know some one who has one on a toyota truck, never been in it . they take motor bikes behind the truck. i am talking about the small toyota truck.
  11. is this a 22r carb or is it the 22rec efi carb fuel pump is on the head end under the hood only efi has the pump in the tank . . i would take a pice of pvc pipe 18 inches long or soo with the engine running put one end on the valve cover , sideof block etc put the outher end up to your ear and listen i once dinosed a knocking alternater with this methed. and as for the v6 i have owened 7 toyotas all 4 cylinders . maybe less hp no internal water pump hokey fake rubber timing chain. much easer to service or fix. i am an old duffer and you cound not give me a six.
  12. thanks to Linda watching over us .
  13. my freand had this on a large type class C 20 gallon tank
  14. i have removed one of those .. go to an rv supply or on line what you get is a kit which is a new plain filler neck and a new bleeder valve. did this for a guy who could not fill his tank. just do job outside only fumes out of his empty tank were terable. maybe a large gas supply plant could supply the hose do you have an rv s hop near you. i just bought a new hose for my new furance. i see the filler neck listed on that site tank filler neck .a lso the liqued level bleeder valve.
  15. I see you live in Oregon you do any business with Les Schab . they cover most of the west U S north too south. i have been using their batterys for years tires. over 500 stores. i have 1987 Dolphon only takes one Group 27 deep cycle in the side and is a tight fit . under the hood one group 24 heavy duty starting battery. i live in wa . my deep cycle is not a marine starting deep cycle. IT is a rv marine deep cycle a t rue deep cycle also used for electric trolling motors . as far as i know those marine starting type are not a true deep cycle but a kind of duel purpose. we should use a true deep cycle. rv marine eletric trolling battery. check the les schab site shows pictures. AND YES i HAVE just old common flooded type batterys.
  16. AS far as i know and the Toyotas i have 1987 dolphin and my 1988 4 w d xtra cab .the brakes on all the old time Toyotas adjust the rear brakes two ways . turning the star whells with a brake spoon. and adjusting the brakes by repeatly pulling the parking brake lever . until the travel shortens. their is also a turnbuckle adjustment underneath between the front and rear cables. that is where you can take exc cable stretch.
  17. i wonder if a windshild leck would dump water in the heater box. it did in my 1977 toyota car no ac .
  18. i just checked the furnace havent got in yet. it does have a duct knock out on the left side at the front. does not show in that pict. and thank You LINDA for putting that up.my set up was direct vent only. NEW up date my son installed the new furnace this weekend and i just light it off an hour ago . so far works very nice and very quiet.
  19. we bought it from the Scamp dealer mFGR website they make and sell the little scamp trailers . my son has owened a nd rehabed a couple of used scamps . they also sell rv parts to anybody. seems to have factory labels ins. numbers . the lady said we have them in stock. all i can say is we DID not get this from EBAY.
  20. I am replacing a dead hydroflame furnace with a new suberban. if you need one we got a very good price from the company that builds the scamp small fiberglass rvs. and when you call they have real people answer the phone. at just a little over 400 dollors for the 16 000 BTU direct discharge unit. far less then anyone we found . This is a brand new unit.
  21. many of the old basic sealed beams had a 35 watt low beam. on my 4wd xtra cab i bought a new pair of napa sealed beams oe fit 55 watts low beam. 65 watts on high beam . mi son said there better then the bulb lights on his late model tacoma. they work well for me. Just checked napa has plug and play LED sealed beams. close to 160 ea
  22. i did not know they made a six. the add on that one says it is a 1.8 a4 of course
  23. the vans or bus had this Twin carb version of what is a 914 engine around 80 hp. the vw 411 four door sedan my dad. had a 1971 complete with a gasoline heater. the sedan used a fuel injected version rated at 85 hp. the add says carb overhaul. they have one carb on each side. the Stewert warner south wind gasoline heater produced very hot heat also had an adjustable thermostat and produced a very noticable loud roaring noise. and you could hear the spark plug popping. IN the engine photo you can cleary see the twin solex carbs. one thing for shure you use secend or third gear a lot too keep the rpms up. lugging will blow these up. the olde r buses used a 40 to 50 hp bug moter you have to work the trans and keep the engine screaming.
  24. start with new fuel line . then see what site window l evel is change gas filter . could be full of dirt rust rubber hose particles etc.go from there.
  25. one kind of fix is too totaly reroof it with a rubber membrain roof these are commonl y used on old metal top trailer homes where i live in wa st . they warrenty them in that case for 10 years . i have seen those old trailers with the cheiling out inside. showing mass rust pinholes. This stuff is what they use for roofs on modern RVS, in my P .O.P it is the only real fix.
