  1. I like your rear box. Which one is it? How did you attach it? Beefed up frame? Thanks Henry 92 winnie
  2. Beautiful group campsite , on a cliff with ocean views and a nearby walk to the beach. There is a shelter, grills, a fire pit and tables. We will grill one night and potluck the other. Nearby San Clemente Pier, Sunday farmers market. There are only FOUR spaces left for you fun-loving adventurous Toyota campers! The price is 50.00 per rig for the two nights until the end of September. After that date the cost will be $60.00. (Individual sites in this park are 43.00-68.00 per night.) You can pay by sending me a check, and letting me know that you are doing so, or by using my pay pal account. urbanjungledesign@cox.net. I know we'll have a great time that weekend. This is dry camping but with full restrooms and showers very near by. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy this coastal environment. Thank you Deirdre Lee 244 W Brookes Avenue, San Diego CA 92103 619 299-1644
  3. Be careful with the isolator from Kragens. Automotive ones are not designed for full time use. An RV store will give you a 3 pole for $20. I just replaced mine yesterday. PS mine had a 3 pole in a 92 winnie.
  4. I used them and they dont hold real well. But i think if you prime the floor with several coats of the seal they make for them it would. I only used one coat. Sand floor first, seal well. A friend says he put down mastic to help adherance. Henry
  5. I preped the floor with a sealant and used vinyl squares. Just sweep it clean, with throw rugs over.
  6. Are you sure about that? I think that it may adjust the flame on gas too. I may be wrong Henry
  7. In my 85 Sunrader the cabinets were partially detached and the roof on that side was also sagging. I got some banister posts at Home Depot with the metal plate below. Jacked up the cabinets, then inserted the posts one in the front one at the rear. Some of the older Toys had metal fence type things that held up the cabinets. An added plus is that I can reach in and use it for a great grab handle when entering. Henry
  8. I have an 85 Sunrader no power steering and in all areas except parking it is great. One positive is that it has a little more power because it is not powering the steering. How much? I don't know Henry PS most came with power steering.
  9. [The battery is probably not under the steps. The wire may be for a step light or outside light. Usually they are located in an outside compartment via exterior door. Have you looked in all the doors? Sometimes under the seats. If you find your power center follow the large wires to the battery. Your power center will usually have a vented grate inside the rv. and will have a power cord through a circular covered hole on the outside. Henry quote name=dlsorensen' date='26 May 2010 - 10:27 AM' timestamp='1274894847' post='14378] I have a 1986 Toyota Crossman. I do not know where the coach battery is supposed to be located. I have looked under the steps to the coach, and there is indeed a metal box there that protrudes from the floor, but I cannot seem to access it anywhere. It also has some wiring running from it? Is this the coach battery box? If it is, any ideas on how to get into it? I appreciate any help someone can provide. Thanks. Dave
  10. Nice job. and mine took 3 or 4 hours with a friend who is mechanical. I did mine with the firestone air springs and used a hand grinder to help them fit. It is good to have access to pump them up etc individually too so you can use them to level your coach when parked. Thanks for the post. H
  11. I think a quart per 1000 miles is pretty good. Mine was a quart per 750. I have 107,000 miles. I switched to high mileage oil 20/50 and added Lucas oil additive. The last time I needed to add oil was at 1200 miles. That is fine for me. I think when the rings are good it is the oil seals on the valves, and the high mileage oil may help with that. Henry
  12. I agree beware of air shocks. Re arching is OK but many say it will not last. The guy who was going to do mine said it would not change the ride. Just lift it. Some places reheat them and some just hammer bend them. The good thing is if they do it they replace the shackles. As I said mine were flat and I installed the Firestone air springs. I use a portable compressor to adjust them. No problem. Henry
  13. If the airlifts you mention are air springs (bags) then they are separate from the shocks. You can add air springs if you don't have them. If you do and they inflate no problem. For shocks Bilsteins are best. Most of us that add air springs go with Firestone. Since you have a 4x4 it may be different. I added airsprings to my 85 21' sunrader. Love them. H
  14. Hi Wayne, One of the great things about our motor homes is that they are self contained. NO hookups needed. This works just great for a weekend getaway. The rallies I have been to in southern cal sometimes have water and electricity. When I am away for a weekend sometimes I don't even use my fridge because of the hassle of leveling the rv. That way I can move it with no hassle. Some ice and I am good for a few days no problem. The rally in Agua Caliente has 15 on site so far and 4 more who made reservations with hookups. So if you want they are still available. As for water is is usually available on site and so are restrooms and showers. Hope you come to our rally. Henry
  15. Just read your blog. Great job. What carpet did you use in the cab? How much did it cost to upholster the frt? More pictures:) Henry 85 Sunrader

  18. We are having a rally in the desert east of San Diego. At Agua Caliente Campground. It is run by the County of San Diego. There are 3 Hot Springs there. One is an indoor pool. It takes place in the Caravan area. No hookups. But there is a very nice new covered area with tables, barbecues etc. Restrooms, showers and the hot springs too. It is only $10 per night , no fees to register. We currently have 11 paid Toys coming. All are welcome. First timers come and meet others, and see their toy homes. The average high temp in April is a nice 84 degrees. For more info acudoc888@gmail.com Thanks Henry
  19. You may have to go back until you can get to the tubing. Then splice it and make a new run. I had to do that on my Sunrader. Moved the pipe from behind the fiberglass to inside. No problema now. Henry
  20. If the wallpaper is not peeling you can use some white primer (you can have it tinted) and then paint. I just did my Sunrader and used the Home Depot brand Gladden? It worked great. Henry
  21. Hi just wondering how the weber carb affected your power etc. Which one did you use. I have an 84 22r. Thanks Henry
  22. You do not need to replace your tank. What you have is an old horizontal tank with the pol fitting. You can have it filled. If it is too old you can take it to airgas or another lp company and get re certified. About $15 to $30. They stamp a new expiration date on the tank. Keep the re certification receipt to show to any propane service if they question it. I have 2 that were recertified. These are different from you barbque tanks which must be upright.
  23. My flasher is over the center hump below the radio area. Henry
  24. I have a 5 speed in my 85 Sunrader 22r. It is wonderful compared to my previuos automatic trans in a winnebago 22re. 5th gear cruises on the freeway 64 , and quietly, and I only use 4th if there is any incline. I would never buy a automatioc again unless it had a 6. Henry
