  1. Glad you and the girl were ok! things can be rebuilt...for better!
  2. Great, I did under torque mine at 120# last night...good thing haven't put the motorhome on the road yet. Thanks for the valuable info. I will set it at 170# if my torque wrench can go that high ortherwise...breaker bar after that.
  3. Should still be a good deal for someone who is on budget!
  4. That's not unusual at all. My "best tank" was 14.5mpg @ 60mph. I usually get bout 12-13mpg going 65mph. I don't want to drive faster than that in most cases. Still pretty good comparing to other RVs or just full size trucks
  5. Bunk bed is one way to go. I haven't seen one done but it's doable.
  6. The overhang repair can be done relatively easy depending on your skills and tools. I did a minor repair years ago on the exact same one as yours. I would put up to $3K into it. Yours still worth around $6-$7K once fixed.
  7. LED bulbs from Ebay work best most of the time. Only issue with LED is sometime polarity is reversed. I had this happened to me so I had to disassemble the bulb and re-soldered them. Most of the time those clearance lights fail due to water leak into those light caps, which causes corrosion.
  8. Usually the snow flake symbol refers to Choke (cold starting) I would trace the wires to tell for sure
  9. If the Lexus V8 bolts to A340E transmission, I would prefer this swap if time or money isn't a subject.
  10. One thing I learned from my previous V6 Warrior was the alternator did not go bad all the sudden. It "slowly" died where the amount of current pumping out of the alternator was decreasing. Now when I check alternator's voltage, I check at the alternator terminal, not at the battery since the cables and connectors could go bad. This happened on my sister's Camry
  11. Anthony, I just went thru your blogs. Thanks for all interesting info. You could make a very good EE or ME as well but nothing wrong pursuing your current major. You are living the dream. I wish I did what you are doing now when I first graduated from college. Good luck with everything and if you ever wander into Northern Calif. territories, give me a headup.
  12. I wish they make higher output alternator for V6. My stock one (60A) I think actually runs my mini refrigerator thru the 1000W inverter while driving...but higher output would work better
  13. I am second on the Honda EU2000i. It even runs my Jack Hammer!
  14. I thought of doing exactly the same...by adding a small 120VAC coil relay that automatically connects to the cab's battery whenever I plug the AC in so I don't have to worry about forgetting to flip the SW, in turn could drain my cab's battery then I can't start the engine. When I find time, this is next on the list.
  15. I thought the thread started asked "generator" related questions...then we went on on NEC and wiring...they are related but can we get back on track to help our new fellow there? From my experience the built-in Onan Microlite 2.8 is way too noisy for my comfort; when running, the motor home becomes a massage chair. I did install one on my '90 Warrior and did not end up using it that much. When I got the '90 Itasca, I carry the Honda 2000i with me and it is a lot quieter, provides enough power to run my 9000 BTU AC, 700W microwave (not at the same time) ...the only thing I had to do is to lock it to prevent theft. I use the Honda almost on every trip. Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, I don't need AC that much Not to mention the Honda is $1k, compared to the Onan ($2.5K). The Yamaha is similar in price and noise level as the Honda. Plug in House outlet requires #10AWG with dedicate 30A circuit when running AC only.
  16. Sorry to hear. Assuming you have a 4Cyl then with some basic mechanical skills and the ability to follow instructions, you can remove the head, take it to the machine shop for cleaning/resurfacing, then re-install it with a new head gasket kits. With do-it-yourself labor, it wouldn't cost more than $400 in part. Depending on where you live, I get most of my parts thru rockauto. I downloaded and keep a copy of factory service manual. Let post your question here in the mechanical forum or there are tons of resources in the internet that you can utilize as well. V6 is a little more involved but not impossible for a DIY
  17. Not a bad deal for someone who enjoys a fun, unique project
  18. pictures would be very helpful too
  19. The easiest solution is to mount a momentary push button on the dash. My '86 1 Ton dually Toyota truck had the same problem and I mounted a big red button on the dash, then connect the wire that power the horn to it. Good luck,
  20. Nice works! I never thought of tire pressure monitor but it's something that I think it's useful if I can find decent price for it. I did put the Pioneer double din head unit with ipod connector, backup camera, two inverters, 24" TV with DVD player...the semi-antique RV is getting some techies!
  21. Nick, welcome to the forum! I am pretty sure you will be happy with your Warrior. Many think its windows are smaller compared to other but build quality is decent. You will find vast info. here in the forum. My '90 Itasca has been a joy to own.

Pure sine wave is the way to go for me...smaller ones are priced reasonably
