  1. I did a quick check for non Toyota's too. All just as old or older in your price range and not as nice as most of the Toyota's available. Resell value will always be better for Toyota's too. I would never buy from a dealer. They will not know what past maintenance has been done and they don't thoroughly check vehicles out. Also have to have a big mark up to cover costs and profit. 2. The 91 Odyssey in North Sacramento gets my vote but it is almost due for a valve adjustment. The owner has all service records which is very nice. Ask if it's been done yet. If not ask for a price adjustment so you can get it done. They are not cheap. These are the roomiest Toyota motorhomes. Make a long trip more comfortable. Pretty sure this is the one your talking about. The lostcoast is a giveaway to your location. http://sacramento.craigslist.org/rvs/4715996208.html Linda S
  3. Butyl tape isn't exactly a tape. It's long strips of what looks like plumbers putty that you put under the metal trim before screwing it down. Some will squeeze out and you trim that to the edge with a putty knife. Very sticky and never dries so it lasts for many years. Linda S
  4. Absolutely go with the V6. Smoother ride, easier handling and you will probably be pretty packed up. Better to handle the load on the mountains you need to go over. An overloaded 4 cylinder can easily get worse mileage than the V6. Linda S
  5. Yup looks like a good clean axle. price with the wheels is great Linda S
  6. I must say I am completely spoiled by my camper. The luxury of a clean toilet and my own bed anywhere I go is too much to let go of. I roughed it all the years my kids were growing up and midnight walks to a pit toilet are something I never want to do again. Not to mention the " make my own better than Starbucks coffee" and brownies at night. How does your wife feel about tent camping John Linda S
  7. These are the right tires for Toyota motorhomes. Commercial D load range in the correct size. What more info were you looking for Linda S
  8. Yup same pure gas site I went to. No form that I could see and don't see what your talking about. Must be add ons from the forum you were on Linda
  9. I figured he must mean the website with pure gas station locations too but clicked on every link there and didn't find any strange more info stuff. Linda S
  10. Still used the same part number for up to at least 1996 Tacoma's. Does number 10 here look right to you? http://www.oemautopartsandaccessories.com/catalog/parts/view/n/switch-8472035030/v/toyota-tacoma-1996/vtec/84919/pid/6558ab0b61c3e43b/ Linda S
  11. Well this appears to be the correct switch but you need to try and buy it to see if it will go through http://www.villagetoyotaparts.com/products/TOYOTA/1989/4Runner3000CC-EFI--AUTOMATIC--4-SPEED-COLUMN-SHIFTTRUCK--STANDARD/SWITCH-ASSY--PATTERN-SELECT-SWITCH-ASSY--PATTERN-SELECT--NO1/2372220/8472035030.html Linda S
  12. That original material is amazingly durable. My Toyota was perfect when I got it but my Nissan was trashed. Fabric was so dirty I thought it was brown. It was really the pale blue. Mold everywhere. Took a chance and went to a laundrymat and washed the covers multiple times with detergent and oxyclean. They came out like new. If I ever find some fabric I will send it your way but don't hold your breath. The plaids they also offered the same years is always shot. Only the velour lasted Linda S
  13. Don't know if yours is the same problem but the owner of the Toyota Yahoo group had his stuck for a while. Here is how he fixed it "Your problem is that the brake safety lock mech which will does not let the shifter out of park unless the brake pedal is depressed is stuck in the steering column. Take the plastic dash trim on the bottom of the driver's side off. Lay upside down on the driver's seat with your head at the pedals. You will see a cable that comes down from the left side of the steering column and goes into the brake pedal housing. When you depress the pedal you will see a cable pin that moves as the pedal arm is depressed Remove the cable/housing from the brake pedal. DO NOT MESS WITH THE ADJUSTMENT nuts, just remove the cable. Grab a small ball peen hammer and thump on the end of the cable a few times, lightly driving it back inside the housing. this should dislodge the lock in the steering column. You need the key turned on for the lock pin to come out. Mess with it until it comes loose. The other option is to drop the steering column and replace the lock mech. This happened to me last year. I am sure that when I go back out again this year it will once again be stuck in park and I will have to go through it all once more. here is the page out of the service manual which might not help much but will show you what I am talking about http://groups.yahoo.com/group/toyota-campers/photos/album/258598986/pic/83822373/view?picmode=large&mode=tn&order=ordinal&start=21&dir=asc turtle" Linda S
  14. Yeah I knew what you meant. Mines the same fabric. I gotta tell you, sourcing 20 year old fabric is close to impossible. I don't know anyone who has thrown out fabric that was still useable. Is it the sofa you need to cover? That's quite a bit of material. I would try to find something compatible with the rest. Maybe a solid the same color or the darker color of the dots. I did look for you at a few online places and got nothing. Linda S
  15. Don't you have roof beams Debbit? I think I remember you were one of the lucky ones who got them even though your rig is an 86. I wouldn't worry about adding another roof vent. Regular vent weighs almost nothing and certainly isn't going to make your roof sag. Some Sunraders came stock with 2 roof vents and an air conditioner and I have yet to see one with a caved in roof. especially the ones who have any roof beams at all. Full sized Sunraders with roof beams usually have 2 anyway. Only the shorties got one Linda S
  16. Six feet sounds too long. Way too long. Yes any auto parts place either will have it or can order it in the size you need. Linda S
  17. OMG I'm thinking there is no way he can pull this off, it's trashed, but your starting to make it look good. dropbox worked great. Shows a real timeline on the repair. Great job Linda S
  18. Lower the resolution on your pics before you try to post. Then only post a few per post. Takes time but it will work. Best case is to put them into a photobucket type website and post a link. Linda S
  19. Wow That is one beautiful new rig. Linda S
  20. I sent a message to one of the Yahoo group members. She is trying to find a camper for her sister who lives in Redding Ca. It's so beautiful. I don't think it's going to last long and I think your price is right on Linda S
  21. It appears to be a cover for a low top Sprinter. The high top ones are way taller than my camper. Jason who has a 4x4 Sunrader just bought a Sprinter one for his too and I think his is a little long. I wouldn't worry about the little bit at the bottom though. Looks good Linda S
  22. Well all I can tell you is that I am in no way a computer person and I don't have access to the programming of this site. Only the owner Greg can do that. Since I know he has cleaned the site many times, I'm guessing it doesn't last too long before something gets inserted again. Come here before you search and you will never have a problem with it. Linda S
  23. My favorite casino. RV parking is on the western side of the hill and beautiful sunsets at night. Linda S
  24. Yes fiberglass resin. Just didn't use any fiberglass mat. Linda S
