AmyDC
Hi All! I'm going to go look at a 1986 Sunrader for sale in PA this Thursday. I've spoken to the owner a few times and its seems like it could be the rig I'm looking for... good mechanically, but poor inside the coach (which is a-okay with me as I want to gut it anyway). I've been lurking around the forums for awhile here just trying to absorb all the knowledge and was curious if any of ya'll live in northern PA and would care to meet up? Wish me luck!! 🤩 Amy

tropicstar
Why do some sunraders have smaller overhead camper windows when others have wrap around overgead camper windows? Was that a difference from manufacturers location?
AmyDC
Thanks @MaineJed!! @tropicstar That’s certainly a possibility. I’m not sure why some have the wraparounds and others don’t. Could it be the length? Like the 18 footers have the wraparounds but the 21 footers don’t?
WME
There were 2 factories. West Coast built Sunraders have wrap around and Mid West built Raders have flat windows.

fred heath
From a personal perspective, the flat glass would be my choice. If it gets damaged or destroyed any glass shop could fabricate a replacement piece.

AmyDC
Hi All! My 1986 Sunrader didn't come with any repair manuals so I was thinking about purchasing this - (1979 - 1995) Toyota Pick-Ups & 4Runner Haynes Repair Manual - https://haynes.com/en-us/toyota/pickup/1979-1995 - the online manual version because it comes with video tutorials. In addition, I also found this PDF while searching Google - 1985 Toyota Truck & 4-Runner Gasoline Repair Manual - http://htftp.offroadsz.com/marinhaker/programi/VSI4KO ZA TOYO/1985FSM_OCR.pdf. For my daily driver I currently have a 2003 Honda Pilot and have learned to do repairs/maintenance on it via YouTube and through the (2003 - 2008) Honda Pilot Haynes Repair Manual - https://haynes.com/en-us/honda/pilot/2003-2008 - the print version I picked up at a local Auto Zone. Are there any additional manuals to get that you think might be helpful? This is my first time owning an RV and as such I'm a little nervous as its going to be a bit of a learning curve for me. Thanks! Amy Edited August 7, 2019 by AmyDC
Derek up North
The Sunrader Manual is so general as to be almost useless. 1. Sunrader Manual Set - Dometic - Hydroflame.pdf
AmyDC
Derek, Haha agreed! When I was bumming around on this site the other day, I saw that someone had linked to a Toyota Odyssey owner's manual. Do you think I could substitute that for a rough idea of what a Sunrader owner's manual should have been in terms of how the systems work/work together? Derek up North
I just attached (above) a Pdf of the Sunrader Manual.
AmyDC
No, I know you did... Its just as the Sunrader manual you posted was a little sparse in terms of information (through no fault of your own obviously - that's just the way it is), I thought of the Odyssey manual which has much more info than the Sunrader manual does. Odyssey 4x4
I saw some sunrader original manuals for sale on eBay if anyone needed to have them for collectors sake! https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F254321909081
