  1. Well that one costs a grand. There is also another one made by Girard and they run about 600. Almost twice the cost of a conventional rv water heater. There are much cheaper small electric water heaters but they usually use more amps than our power centers can handle. Also some very small propane heaters that are made to be used outdoors. It might be possible to install them where your current water heater is but put in a little fan to make sure it vents properly. I don't know tis for sure though and you always have to be careful with the propane stuff. Don't want you going Kaboom when you light your stove Linda S
  2. The weight of everthing I put on the back on the hitch carrier and the bumper comes in at right around 150lbs including the carrier weight. I can't say I've ever noticed a difference in steering. I don't know but my Sunrader is a short one and maybe that makes a difference. Linda S
  3. I have only seen age restrictions at very high end Rv parks that cater mostly to the big class A's. They are more like a resort and they are very expensive. Most cost more than a nice hotel room. I have never had a problem anywhere getting into regular RV park with my 1986 Sunrader. Of course the nicest places are usually state and national parks. Never heard of age restrictions there. Yes for shopping or sight seeing you need to unhook. Not a big deal. I don't use the sewer hook ups at the campsite so not hooked up there. I just wait and dump when it needs it. Always better to see what you want to before you get to campsite or after and buy as much groceries as you will need. In most cases your campsite is your destination so relax and enjoy it Linda S
  4. Very cool find Derek. I'm stealing the link to post on my site. I will give you credit Linda S I just love a bad behind truck Too funny. I didn't write behind I used the other word for that area but the site won't let me say that
  5. Like I said before you are allowed to include your attorney's fees in the judgement if it should come to that. If you do end up getting a judgement against him you can get a lein on anything he owns. His house, car. Does he have a nice truck. Get a lein on it and then you can send a tow truck to pick it up and sell it. He owns rental property. If you take out a lein on his property he will never be able to get a loan on that property, ever, until your debt is paid and you remove the lein. Lots of options buddy. Hope the AG can take care of it though.Be so much easier Linda S
  6. Yup it's the fiberglass that makes them so desirable. Yes they can leak from windows and vents but it won't weaken the structural integrity of the camper. Paneling and carpet and inside stuff is much easier to replace then rebuilding the walls of a camper. Especially one that has to go down the road and take the bumps and stress of a highway vehicle. They are also pretty darn good looking. Linda S who is slightly predjudiced cause she owns 2 of them
  7. Very good find Karin. I don't believe I have ever thought of that or heard it mentioned by anyone else. In most cases I usually just blame the clearence lights but you don't have any and yes taking the window out and resealing it is a big job. Wouldn't have done the trick anyway. Good call Linda S
  8. It was in a building Bill.Thee guy drove it out to save his shop instead of trying to put the fire out. Sure the wind driving it all the way to the street added greatly to the fire Linda S
  9. It's a really nice Scat. First one I have ever seen with a bathroom. Needs some cleaning up but for that price I'd love to have it Linda S
  10. Yes your rear side entry model is very rare. I think I've only seen 3 of them including yours. Very cute. I don't remember if the subject of this thread was the rear door one but if it was they looked like this but permanently attached to the truck frame http://medford.craigslist.org/rvs/3990202049.html Linda S
  11. Checked the google map on this one and it is an RV park. Scam was the first thing I thought of but pics look like the area where it is supposed to be. Of course they can't scam you if you buy in person and get the title Linda S
  12. Ammonia stinks. I wash upholstery with Oxyclean. No smell ,no residue which means they don't get dirty again fast from sticky stuff. I do dilute it a lot. One cap in about a gallon of warm water but everything comes out sparkling clean and fresh smelling. Off brand at dollar store. Cost 1 dollar and tons left over for the laundry. I use my shop vac for sucking out the water. Everybodys got a shop vac right Linda S
  13. Wow very rare one with the bathroom. More than worth the price. Linda S
  14. Mine is super light aluminum one. I can slip it in and take it back out really easy. Me old, light is very important. 60 bucks at Harbor Freight. My chairs are bungied to my ladder. Also very light I even have a outboard motor carrier attached to my rear bumper that doesn't interfere with the hitch carrier. Linda S Pic of my motor mount and carrier
  15. What are you going to put in it. The only time I need extra storage space is if I bring my inflatable boat and I use a hitch carrier. Everything else needs to fit in the camper or I don't really need it. Linda S
  16. Bad if they are on the drivers side. No place anywhere to get them. If so I would get all new ones for that side cause your never going to remember which ones are left hand and which ones are right. Go to a Toyota dealer and find out the specs at least. I looked everywhere and I can't find them. You could also try asking here http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/toyota-campers/ Linda S
  17. I got the best brand, CFS all metal, but when I needed it they didn't have a 3 core in stock. I settled for the 2 core and it never even gets to half way hot anymore. Not even in the mountains. The main thing is it's new and not old and cruddy inside. If your driving with a 20 plus year old radiator I don't care how much you flush it, it's still cruddy inside Linda S
  18. Need to know if it's an 86 and side that needs to be replaced. 86 only has left hand thread on the driver side. All other years will be standard thread Linda S Well I can't find it anyway. Online Toyota places that I knew had them listed in the past don't anymore. I suggest you go to a toyota dealer and see if they can look it up for you or maybe someone else here knows what it is
  19. If it's the assembly itself that is leaking I don't believe a hole needs to be cut. Post a picture of the faucet and the area where you would have to get behind it. Pretty sure the shower and faucet assmebly dismantles from the front. I will take a look at mine later today and see for sure. Linda Well if it's just a washer you might be able to replace it with the faucet in place but if it needs replacement looks like you do need to cut a hole behind it to access. Mine is accessable from the closet. here are some instructions http://www.rvtravel.com/blog/rvnow/2008/05/free-yourself-from-dribbling-rv-shower.html
  20. Ya know he doesn't have an unlimited amount of money. If you hire one with the evidence he has his attorney will bail because he will realize he might not get paid. Your evidence is overwhelming and his attorney will know he will lose. Most lawyers try to cut their losses. Won't take years cause that mechanic can't afford it. Only big companies can afford to take litigation on for an extended period. You can include your attorney fees in the law suit Linda S Can't hurt to start with Pa's equivelent of small claims even though it is not as efficient as most states.
  21. I don't get it.Toyota thought it was important to have overdrive disengauge at around 4000 ft. There must have been a reason for it don't ya think. If your driving a 4 banger the trannie is known to fail from the heat caused by the excessive slippage when in overdrive. This excessive slippage also causes reduced mileage not better. After proving this to myself several times at close to sea level on very flat terrain I turned my overdrive off and never used it again. Don't miss it a bit Linda S
  22. Looks like you know what your doing.New floor looks great. That gooey stuff on sealing the trim is butyl tape and it's still gooey because it never drys out so it pretty much seals forever. You need to reseal with the same stuff. Linda S
  23. Did the mechanic say that he had been through this before by email or in a letter so you have proof he said it. That right there proves he knew he bought a skeleton policy to save money cause he's caused damage to someone elses vehicle. Ask the AG if there is any way you can get his licsence pulled or something like that. Of course you could always hire an attorney and sue him directly. If he really owns as much as it sounds like most attorneys wouldn't have a problem taking the case. Do you still live in property he owns? Are you still paying rent there Linda
  24. Let me guess. San Fran bay area? plywood on roof? Linda
  25. Well no water is going to come out unless the fresh water tank is full. Did you put water in it? There is also a tank drain somewhere and if it is open when you put water in you will see it drain out the bottom. Your water tank has to be somewhere near that gravity fill tube Linda
