  1. Thanks. Just bought it for my 5 year old grandson. He loves my camper more than all the other kids Linda S
  2. Doesn't seem to matter where you go. I went to a Firestone shop near me to have a new tire put on before I even knew about the left hand thread. They had no problem and did it correctly. Some time later another member here went to the same shop and they broke several of his lug bolts. Not just one. They kept breaking them. He had a hell of a time finding new bolts that would fit. Now if I need any tires taken off for anything I stand there and watch and repeat myself many times just in case they think this woman doesn't know what she's talking about Linda S
  3. Toyota brochure from 1984 shows the 2wd SR5 model as standard with electronic fuel injection. 85 was the first year it was available on the 4x4 though. Linda S
  4. EFI was standard on the 2wd SR5 trucks in 1984. One of the members here has a pop top Bandit based on that chassis. Linda S
  5. I've seen them on lots of motorhomes. All you need to do is find the whole unit that doesn't have the screw and as you can see there are lenses still available. Check any parting out motorhome ads Linda S Kind of too far away unless he will ship it but here's one on a Winnebago http://vancouver.craigslist.ca/rds/rvs/4593173456.html
  6. It's called a lighted door handle or lighted grab handle. Made only by Bargman. You can check ebay from time to time and see if any old ones show up again. Just look for the screw in the center bottom Linda S
  7. OK so buying a spare for an 86 or older is no longer possible. See that screw? That's the difference and the newer ones that are also hard to find don't have it. I replaced the one on my 86 several years ago with the newer style. The whole fixture is no longer made. This lens is for the newer style only http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Replacement-Lens-for-Bargman-Lighted-Door-Handle-on-RV-Camper-Trailer-/390845444863?pt=Motors_RV_Trailer_Camper_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5b003432ff&vxp=mtr They did have some old style lenses a few weeks ago on ebay but they are gone. Possible they were all old stock someone found in a warehouse somewhere. I have heard of people cutting ones that will fit from gallon milk jugs. Worth a try. Not like it's going to cost you if they don't come out Linda S
  8. Did you go to your nearest Pick and Pull or did you check inventory online. Sometimes you need to drive a ways to find what you want. You can also check www.car-part.com Linda S
  9. How old are the tires for one. Planning on picking up a truck that old and heading out on a 10,000 mile trip seems overly optimistic. Kind of important to have all systems checked out first. No one can tell from a pic if you don't have one of the real truck. Canvas could be brittle and rip. Just too many variables. Lots of money for that rig Linda S
  10. This should give you a pretty good idea of what to look for. https://www.dometic.com/c17faeab-a5a2-436b-a032-b28317a7cff0.fodoc Linda S
  11. Link to your build http://toyotamotorhome.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=6820&hl=%2B87+%2Bsunrader+%2Bfront+%2Bcab Linda S
  12. Is it the cheap panel they have over the frame or the frame itself that is degrading. If just the paneling I think you could strip it off and reface the frame without too much trouble. If you need all new framing it's harder than it seems like it should be. Karin is a master woodworker and I'm sure it seems easy to her. For the rest of us framing a cabinet strong enough to stand up to the vibration of the road, not so easy. My Nissan Sunrader had some sections that were completely rotted beneath the fridge and the storage cabinet. Just replacing that section was a battle. It took a lot of try's. Building something strong enough to support the stove and the sink, way harder. I know your a great do it yourselfer but this might be the time to hire someone. Linda S
  13. There will be air under these. They are going to be attached to a Bimini top but don't know how yet. Didn't get that far. At just over 6 lbs I think it will work. Linda S
  14. I'm kind of surprised your letting it go so soon. Well you have a few thousand people here who will attest to your extensive renovations. Someone is going to get a fabulous motorhome. Linda S
  15. I'm looking for solar panels for a solar boat project. I need them to be as light as possible and not too large and these are the best I have found so far. I would love your opinion JD. I have no knowledge of solar at all. Planning on having 2 of them. http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-W-Watt-12-V-Volt-Semi-Flexible-Mono-Monocrystalline-Silicon-Solar-Panel-/331257054540?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d2075854c Linda S
  16. Your talking about a generator that hasn't been made in many years. They used to have some mufflers that would fit on Jack's small engines website but they don't seem to have them anymore. I have heard of people using a motorcycle muffler. Just found a website with some Kohler mufflers. Not exactly like ours but close. Measure and see if any will fit. http://tewarehouse.com/0554 Linda S
  17. I was expecting more feedback than this but a used Toyota wheel from a salvage yard can be had for very little. Worth a try to get one just to compare and see if what I suggested can be done. There are a couple of people here who have upgraded their axle recently but even if they still had the wheels shipping to Alaska would be expensive Linda S
  18. I don't think any spray adhesive will work effectively in this situation. I think you need something thicker that will spread between the layers when you shore it up. Might find something that you can stick a plastic tubing on the end to squeeze it into the area. Linda S
  19. OK I'm jealous now. Sounds like heaven Linda S
  20. Thanks for posting here. I have an idea but I wanted it to be on the site in case I'm wrong. I do believe the inside wheel is just a regular Toyota wheel with bolt holes to attach to the outer dually. Pull the bad wheel off and take them apart to see. Inside wheel should look like this one if I'm right http://www.wheelstiresandmore.com/images/Product/medium/23264.jpg A good wheel place should be able to drill new bolt holes so you can attach your extreme offset dually to the outside. If I'm wrong plenty of people here will tell you so no mistakes are made Linda S
  21. The ECT button changes your shift points so your RPM's are higher before your transmission shifts. Gives you a little more power when in hilly areas Linda S
  22. Yes 195's are still made by a couple of companies. The V6 toy homes do seem to have a much smoother ride. At least the few I have driven Linda S
  23. Don't know how far this is from you but there's a 1980 Datsun truck at the Pick and Pull lot in Lynnwood Wa http://www.picknpull.com/check_inventory.aspx?Address=98101&Lat=47.611072&Lng=-122.332569&Make=Datsun&Model=Pickup&Distance=100 Might have some other good stuff on it too. Linda S
  24. Front pipe is still available from Toyota. Might find one cheaper somewhere else but here's the part number. http://www.toyotaonlineparts.com/oe-toyota/1741065041 Linda S
