  1. I don't know of any manufacturers who put single wheels on the back in 1984. Unfortunately that also means it very well might have the fake duallies and a not full float axle. It was recalled and would need to be replaced at a pretty high cost. Whatever you do take a close look at the rear axle. Your looking for 6 lugs and a center hub that sticks out from the wheel. If it doesn't look like that don't buy it unless you want to spend another grand fixing the problem Linda S
  2. Exact total length of the entire vehicle is 17 feet 6 inches but they called it an 18ft motorhome Linda S
  3. Sunraders are pretty popular. All fiberglass so less chance of any structural damage if a vent or window leaks. Sloping front is a little more aerodynamic than some of the full sized Toys. I have 2 of these. One is an 86 Toyota with the 22re and one is an 86 Nissan with the VG30. Mine are the smaller ones though. 18ft like this although this is clearly a 4x4 and mine are 2wd https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4010/4645977601_3719be5fd3_z.jpg Linda S
  4. Yes it's probably a Sunrader. Since you didn't mention wrap around Plexiglas windows in the front overhead it's probably an east coast version like Totems. The rear corner bath ones do look a little bit smaller than the rear full bath ones so maybe it was one of those. Look like this? http://www.use.com/images/s_2/1985_Toyota_Sunrader_Camper_RV_Motorhome_a5be8d5f9dcc24bbcf8c_1.jpg Linda S
  5. Any excuse to go to the Seattle area is a good one. I camped and traveled around the Olympic peninsula last summer. Just everywhere you go up there is beautiful. Linda S
  6. No, but they have been asked that many times. So much easier to work on only ones that belong to you and have the freedom to do it your way. Gail is so particular I don't think she would take orders very well. Jon too. Ask him to cut corners to save money and that would be the end of it. Linda S
  7. Gail and Jon spent a full year working on this rig. They go over every inch of the rigs they refurbish. Jon's a retired aircraft mechanic and Gail is a perfectionist about detailing every inch. As close as you'll ever get to a brand new Toyota motorhome and in some cases maybe better. If you add up the time they spend and the money they put into these rigs they don't really even make much profit at the prices they get. Linda S
  8. Freight shipping costs are way less than mail and pretty sure this would qualify. Give them a call and ask how much it would be. I'm sure they have done their fair share of shipping. Of course if it was there they could do the install. Think Jason had them make and install his. Linda S
  9. I posted on the other thread where Kayakthecoast got his bumper. Not a Ranch hand. All custom made by a company in Washington http://www.badlandbumpers.com/ Linda S
  10. If it's still there maybe you can hammer it back into shape. I have bent metal stuff using trees, the concrete curve on my driveway. All kinds of crazy stuff. Narrow piece of wood that fits into the insert area will save the grooves so insert trim will still fit properly. I have opened those grooves when bent closed by hammering a screw driver along the inside of the lines. Where there's a will there's a way Linda
  11. So sorry about your accident. People have fixed much worse. One of our members made a left hand turn in front of a truck in Mexico. He managed to get it fixed with the help of locals and went on his way. Don't exactly know what channel your talking about but if you can post a pic I will look for it Linda S
  12. The only complete window I could find on Amazon is almost 80 bucks. http://www.amazon.com/Camper-Travel-Trailer-Interior-Exterior/dp/B00CBW66H6/ref=sr_1_2?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1415189323&sr=1-2&keywords=rv+entry+door+window Cheapest Ebay with free shipping is 65 bucks http://www.ebay.com/itm/CAMPER-ENTRY-ACCESS-ROUNDED-OPAQUE-WINDOW-FRAME-OUTER-DOOR-RV-MOTORHOME-TRAILER-/251704771403?pt=Motors_RV_Trailer_Camper_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a9ac6034b&vxp=mtr Linda S
  13. I don't really worry about my fridge blowing out. They are very well insulated and nothing is going to go bad in a few hours of driving especially when your not opening and closing the door. Mine does blow out occasionally but I always check it when I stop and relight if necessary. Linda S
  14. OK I will just not do it. All seems to be fine as is so I will stay here Linda
  15. Seems the way to go is you buy the inside and outside of the frame and then have glass put in at a local glass place. Saves money on shipping by not sending it with heavy glass and no breakage issues. Sizes are usually stock but measure yours http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/rv-locks/entry-door-window-frame.htm At the bottom you can see that they do have one complete window with a black frame but again I bet the shipping is huge. Linda S
  16. Haven't you ever watched a space movie? The pressure of the air flowing out of the leak pushes anything in there towards the hole. I think I remember Totem removed the Schrader valves before he slimed it and then put them back in and re-inflated the bags. That would have sprayed it around the inside of the bag too. He mentioned he is short of money now and for a few bucks he could at least give it a try. Do you even have air suspension bags? Linda S here's Totem's explanation Will further explain, by fill ups I mean air. Tire slime if you have never used it is a water soluable green suspension that has a ground substrate in it. You remove the valve from the stem at the fill up screw, which will release all pressure and you squeeze the goo in the valve stem. Then screw valve back in and air up. The goo makes its way to the leak and plugs it. Not meant for huge leaks and is a temp fix for sure but far better than fix a flat etc. I know I need new bags as mine are from the 90s, but hey after a slime in each bag, aired them and they leaked maybe 3 more times, kept airing they are per mantle pressured where I want them now. I also put some stainless steel valve air gauge caps on the valves that I had custom made online. To me it's a great solution to squeeze some more years; slime does not set or cast.
  17. Such a simple fix I would not have known without you. Everything else on this upgrade seem to work fine. I still have to deal with a bios upgrade from Toshiba though. Never done one before. What is a bios upgrade. I have no idea Linda S
  18. Yup it did the trick. Thanks. Never had to click on anything there to post links before Linda S
  19. I carry my Zodiac and supplies and an outboard on a hitch carrier. About 150lbs for everything. Never noticed any difference driving or had any problems Linda S
  20. If you look at the pictures of the roof you can see the roughly patched air conditioner hole and more roof patches where the plumbing pipes were. Bet they looked pretty nasty from the inside and they used the metal to cover it. Bathroom is still in place but now there is no place to vent the tank. Yuck. Linda S
  21. Yes find the leak first. Lines and Schrader valves are easily replaced. If it is the bags one of our members Totem used Slime in his and managed to make his last a few more years. Maybe he will see this and tell us how he did it again. Linda S
  22. He would have had to make the recovery CD before the upgrade and in Derek's and my case the upgrade was done without our knowledge. No way to make one when you wake up to a new program already on your computer. No we were never given the opportunity to make one. Linda S
  23. 18 inches is American Girl doll size. One of the most popular dolls for little girls and very expensive. Dolls cost well over a hundred dollars and her clothes cost more than mine Linda S
