  1. Damon is on the east coast by the way. Location is important for something big like windows. Linda S
  2. There's a 12 volt one listed. I like it. Wonder how much they cost. Bet it will run on a Honda 2000 http://www.topleadercompressor.com/Products/2013/1010/59.html Linda S
  3. You probably don't need new windows. If the frames aren't damaged you just need new glass. Lots of places do RV glass replacement. The front overhead windows are probably plexiglass. Some boat repair shops do plexiglass work. Linda S
  4. Welcome to the world of Toyota motorhomes. You do realize your driving the equivalent of a Celica with a house on it's back right. It has the horsepower it has and there's not much you can do about it. I never use 4th gear, overdrive. The differential gearing is not low enough to sustain speed even on flat roads when your in 4th unless you've got a tailwind. Some members here have switched out the differential so they can use 4th effectively. The transmission in the 22re is susceptible to overheating especially in 4th. There is no locking torque converter so the constant slippage causes heat. Check and make sure your fluid doesn't smell burnt or is brown. If so change it. Many people add a transmission cooler but since you have a tranny temp gauge seems like someone has already done some stuff. Didn't come stock. Yes on steep grade 45 would be considered good speed. 55 is too fast in second. There's only so much you can do when driving a heavy vehicle powered by a 4 cylinder. Yours sounds normal Linda S
  5. My Ford Explorer came with the Firestone tires and I never changed them. Just kept them at close to full pressure. They were darn good tires. Outlasted many other tires I've used in the past and never any problems. Never came close to flipping or felt any handling problems and I have been known to drive like an idiot at times. Linda S
  6. I'm a member here like everyone else. I have a right to my opinion too. Linda S
  7. I appreciate the new products you post. Yes these heater are kind of expensive but I saw one on craigslist for 200 bucks. Their small size and ability to be mounted underneath would make for more room in our tiny campers and lots of us don't need a heater for sub-zero weather. Some people just like to poo poo everything. Linda S
  8. That rig sold on EBay for well over 15 grand. Linda S
  9. Single wheels are not a problem. They were never recalled. Redoing the camper section can be expensive and a lot of work. It's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I would say less than 2 grand American. Don't know the current exchange rate. Linda S
  10. Looks very good. One thing you need to keep in mind. That curved area above the window is bare fiberglass. The carpet there was original and was for insulation. Gets cold in Sac. I wouldn't leave it bare. Even some headliner glued on will be better than nothing. They make vinyl leather looking headliner if you hate carpet. You need the stuff with a foam backing Linda S
  11. Join the Toyota Chinook site on Yahoo. They have a 78 factory service manual in the files section https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/toyotachinook/info Linda S
  12. You don't need hookups to use your toilet. You just need to go to a dump station. My tiny tank in my Sunrader lasts a week easy with just me using it. Yes you can get a cassette toilet. Cost tons of money and it's way more messy than putting a hose on and dumping my tank. My friend said one campground even stopped her from empting the cassette in their bathroom because they claimed that it would clog their toilets. Of course with a regular porta pottie you can just toss it in the garbage. Let the poor guy who empties the garbage deal with your crap. YUCK Sanitation systems were developed to keep our waterways clean and protect us from disease. Our RV's come with toilets that we can directly dump into sanitations systems. Always the best choice Linda S
  13. There are tons of online places where you can buy new corner molding. Just measure the side with no insert trim and match it. The problem I see with replacing it is that you've got a distinct bend just above where your tail lights are and bending the metal trim might be an issue. If not done properly it will buckle and not be good Linda S
  14. I don't know why you think a portable would be easier. If you keep your regular toilet and your at a campground you just empty your tanks at the dump. Are you going to remove it and seal up the hole and then reopen it when your ready to travel? Where are you going to throw your bag of poop. garbage can at home? Doesn't flushing down into a sewer system where it will be treated sound more sensible. Linda S
  15. Yeah the rear bed model I mentioned that has that crazy closet. I've seen more of this model than the slide-out one Linda
  16. I've looked at the Pioneer quite a bit because they used the Nissan V6 model a lot. Since I own a Sunrader on the D21 I notice others. Linda S
  17. Yeah and the 2000wt one weighs pretty much the same as a Honda or Yamaha but is louder. I kind of wondered why the Amazon site shows both generators weighing the same and same sound. Not for me. Linda S
  18. No there's a 2000 in the same link. Just click on it. $749 plus shipping Linda
  19. Wow I just found this. Would like opinions on it. Only 31 lbs and as quiet as a Honda. Made by MSD ignition. They are a good company aren't they? http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Inverter-Generator-Ultra-Lightweight/dp/B00LH3UXA6 Linda S
  20. Yes extremely loud. I never used mine and now it won't start. I could care less. Just waiting for my son to have time to remove it and I will make the space work for a little portable which I will remove and set on the ground to use. Just found out the Yamaha 2000 weighs 3 lbs less than the Honda 2000. For this old lady every lb counts Linda S
  21. There was a member here considering adding a slide-out to his rig but I don't think it was a Sunrader. I gave him contact info for my friend Frank since he was going to be traveling through Phoenix and Frank owned a Pioneer at the time. He could have looked at how it was built. He never contacted Frank. Don't know why. Pioneer had some other innovative designs with their other RV's. The rear bed model with no slide out had a big closet that pivoted out of the bathroom shower area. Lots of storage and bigger bathroom but closet blocked galley when you took a shower. Linda S
  22. Thank you Dave. From now on this discussion is about HIS project. Find your unicorn elsewhere Linda S Moderator
  23. It's possible they put in a small radiator. These came standard with a 2 row but lots of people here upgrade to a 3 row. Wonder what's in yours or if it's even the right one. Your not totally overheating your just running warmer than you should. So it's cooling just not enough. Linda S
  24. Ceiling is actually glued to the fiberglass. So is the inside trim off that window. Yeah lots of damage. My windows all had to be resealed and there was some water damage. Fiberglass flexes and windows don't eventually things leak. I use butyl tape to seal the windows. Doesn't dry out so stays flexible for years and protects against leaking. Looking forward to seeing your project progress Linda S
  25. I seem to remember a few years back someone else having a problem finding a roof vent for their fridge. The base show the cutout size. Did you measure yours? That would be the first thing. As long as you can install the base the top just snaps into it. Post measurements and I will look around Linda S
