  1. to bad the po didnt use the drain hole in the box (washing the batteries). by the look of things you need new cables also. those type batteries gas off alot, so rinsing them off every month is needed
  2. battery no load voltage is not an indicator of battery condition. 7 years on a battery is really good, but i think you are at the end of life.
  3. the computer makes adjustments based on the timing being set with the idle switch closed. if the timing marks are moving around, the computer is attempting to get the timing where it needs to be. grab the throttle and turn it towards closed. you should see the marks stop moving. usually the adjustment is off because of build up around the throttle plate. it needs to be cleaned.
  4. yea. mine zips up to 60 pretty easily. you have issues. i would verify brake sys integrity and ign timing before going any further
  5. the lever arraingement is an adjustable proportioning valve. a heavy load compresses the springs allowing more pressure to the rear brakes. this allows for no brake lock up when not loaded
  6. i have run into flex brake line failing where fluid can go to the brakes, but is blocked from returning. would account for no power. ive also run into master cylinders incorrectly adjusted where the piston is held from returning completely by the pushrod from the pedal. one more... ive found brake system contaminated by someone adding engine oil to the brake resivoir. all the seals in the system will swell up locking up everything
  7. just a heads up. in cali no devices allowed on dash except in left lower corner. many people ignore this, but it is an excuse to pull you over if they need one
  8. the rear axle is good. full floater. a/c needs to be powered by ac- plug in the shore power lead. the leaks look pretty normal. looks like a newer version of my 84 dolphin
  9. so now im confused. this is from the book provided to me to teach techs how to deal with computer systems. my dolphin(84) uses the little box on the right fender. tccs. the book says all toyotas were tccs by 86, and they all used the same way to check timing. guess they got bad info from toyota. more likely it was typos
  10. jumper from te to e1 in box by fuses. if you check with a timing light and the marks are moving around, the throttle switch is not closed. very common problem, and codes wont flash. grab the throttle and twist it towards closing. if the timing marks stop moving you found the problem. now with the engine off, key on do the same to the throttle and your codes should blink. also now you can adjust the idle switch

    Battery Power!

the isolator is the key to charging your house bat. should not charge house unless chassis bat is up. maybe bad, maybe connected incorrectly
  12. if you have tccs, there will be a trouble code in the computer about egr as the system includes a feedback from it. codes can be retrieved
  13. dont think cams are special. the cab and chassis is just a heavy truck, not specially made for rv. an aftermarket torque cam would probably help though
  14. in 85 there were 2 systems. efi, and tccs. neither show any connections to cc. both systems employ a cat. egr should not open unless at cruise conditions, so cat warm up is not an issue.
  15. to answer, yes it could be plugged. more likely as stated there is junk getting in the carb. it can hold the needle valve open causing high float level resulting in a rich mixture
  16. yea thats the one i got from homies. $135, but out of stock now. they will send you an email when back in stock
