    Generator

Thanks all, This is too much reason to keep LPG. Ill have to look into how to make it work. Later I'll add the 300watts of solar and marine batteries to run fridge.

    Generator

I'm looking to add generator- likely small Honda or Yamaha. Also looking to ditch the Dometic fridge for basic apartment fridge, then cut the LPG tank out and add batteries and solar. I only plan to make beach runs and small 3 day camp trips. This a bad idea?
  3. Admit did you glue the 1x2 to the fiberglass bunk bottom? Or is there wood sheet, the 1x2, then another 1/4" wood sheet?
  4. What did you use to paint the cabinet doors? Did you sand them? ALso, did you run new larger exhaust?
  5. I removed the couch/bed framing, to get that nasty carpet out with more ease. I tried cutting to the edge and it was a BISCUIT. I've not pulled the walls for the fridge and sink, yet. But I don't like the process of cutting the edge. These pics are the closest shots, but I think you'll get the idea. If you want more pics, I'll snap more tonight.
  6. Hi Linda, I'm overwhelmed with how I want to rebuild my overhead walls and bed. Do you have top 5 threads you recommend or particular member that is great go-to for this?
  7. Hey Zero, Do you have any pics of how you framed the sides and bed? Did you use 3/4" for any of it?
  8. WME, this seems like a good price on elastomeric coating; https://www.menards.com/main/building-materials/roofing-soffits-gutters/roof-coating/sealbest-white-elastomeric-roof-coating-4-75-gal/1531824/p-1444444994815-c-5822.htm?tid=-6654629901059265087&ipos=1. DO you think the Menard's coatings are different than the higher priced brands?
  9. "This thing will $20 us into poverty..." that has been my progression for 4 weeks, when I got my Toy, LOL. WME - 2.5" exhaust sounds like a good thing. Thats what I ran on my Datsun 510 in high school. what kind of muffler did you put on it?
  10. What happens when you reply to this thread and (touch)click the attach clip? Tomorrow ill look at it with my wife's iphone. Then guide yiu from there.
  11. It looks like you did a larger 3/4" for the right wall, correct? Did you end up doing the whole window area?
  12. 3 holes matched, thats a nice find. I'll start looking for similar. What is the center console - Stock?
  13. My bad, this paint is for coach.
  14. Yes-cab. Should be same ivory, correct?
  15. Awesome. Got lots of spots(rust) to touch up.
  16. Thanks Wemit. Ill definitely use 3/4" on sides. For bed, ill need to research how to do those layers. The original bed seemed like it was 1/4" ply, then foam (in frame) then another 1/4" ply. Foam sandwich. Do you jave any pics or videos of how you did it?
  17. Trying multiple threads here: I just got 87 Dolphin. It has major wood rot in the overhead. I'm looking for advice on an idea. I thought i could replace the side walls with 3/4" wood instead of the foam/wood paneling. Does anyone thins this would be to heavy for the overhead? Also Plan on using 3/4" wood sheet for the bed over cab.

  19. June 20th,  I won a 1987 Toyota Dolphin at an auction.  $2000 after towing fees.  After 2 weeks of working on my new 87' Dolphin, i've got the fuel tank, pump and sending unit cleaned and/replaced.  cleared the fuel lines and finally got it started.  It took a lot of ether and its running strong now.  53k miles.  Just passed smog yesterday.  Next up is getting all the tail lights working so I can pass DMV inspection.

Tore out lots of bad wood, foam, panels and rest of bed area.  But it looks like I"ll need to tear more of side walls out.
