Derek up North
Don't ask about the rear axle. hunkaman
forgive my ignorance, is the truck a custom built, or could you buy it from a dealer like that? it is totally awesome.
Derek up North
I'd have to say not built in a Toyota factory. Perhaps a dealer option.
linda s
The truck was built by Sunrader. They did quite a few of them and they also built them on Plymouth Arrows. I've seen at least a dozen over the years and a few more of the 5th wheel trailers. They also made some party vehicles called a Sunchaser with the big window shell extended to the back with seating for lot of people. It's small so maybe 6. Think mini limo. hunkaman
thanks for the info linda. makes me wonder how many sunrader made and for how many years. they must be rare. i think it is one of the coolest thing i've seen on the forum. i love this forum, you never know what may pop up. thanks again linda. joe from dover
Derek up North
So what does this look like? A short bed box on a lengthened chassis? The rear overhang looks long to me but I'm no 1981 Toyota expert (they were all crushed here years ago) .
linda s
Looks like a frame lengthened long bed to me. That's not a short bed. Just about all the early full length Toyota motorhomes had lengthened frames. I measured one 84 Sunrader at 142 inches. Bet this truck is close to that Linda S
