kayakthecoast
I'm about to remove my left rear Sunrader emergency exit window, it rattles and water seeps in below it. Is it worth doing it yourself, or better to take window to a glass specialist? I've never taken this type of window out? I want this fixed before replacing the interior panel and insulating. Might have to wait for warmer weather though. Any window experts out there?
WME
I had this problem, all it takes is some weather strip foam between the window frame and the body frame.
kayakthecoast
Thanks. I assume you have to pull the entire window out?
linda s
Pretty sure the escape window screws in just like the other windows. You already reset the front side windows with butyl tape just do that window the same. I have removed and reset the one on my Nissan Sunrader. Don't remember it being different. I will check mine again tomorrow morning and let you know. It was a few years ago. Linda
kayakthecoast
Thanks Linda, I'm pretty sure you are right. Although this window seems to have some weather stripping between the pop out window and window frame, that is worn out. I'll wait for a warmer weekend and take it apart. linda s
I found some felt weather stripping for Montana Chinook before. I will look at my window and see what it looks like. Might help the rattle Linda S
WME
Just open the window and clean off the old weather strip and replace with new. There should be two small copper rivets that lock the release handles, just push then out and open the release handles and open the window. IF you are having leaks between the cab and the window assembly then you need to remove the whole thing and reseal
kayakthecoast
Thanks WME. I'm waiting for a dry warm weekend
kayakthecoast
I resealed my window with some good rubber stick on stuff. Also noticed one of my emergency exit handles was not holding the window tight. A quick bend of the latch with vice grips and the window is tight as a ducks......! Simple fix
