Ttcos
So, have picked up a 1ton 1987 toyota, great running condition, crappy box, for a good price. And am picking up a 1978 toyota chinook omega this weekend also for a good price. The plan was to separate the chinook from the 78 and transplant onto the 1987. But now think that a restoration is a much better idea, while putting the newer efi engine and in...which leads me to the question.Where the heck do you find body parts for these trucks? Everything is in great condition aside from surface rust, but the grill, may or may not be salvageable. Have searched, and cannot find them...aside from on ebay from bangkok Any leads appreciated! linda s
Darn I just took some parts off of a 78 today. I think the grill was OK but didn't really look close. I was only there for the sun visor. Finding body parts for a vehicle this old is not easy. Maybe someone here will have an extra one. I see the grill from Thailand on ebay. I doubt you will find a better deal here. I have bought quite a few things from overseas on ebay and never had a problem. Didn't get the item once but got my money back from paypal no problem. Ttcos
Such a shame there are no parts for these. Guess I will just have to try and fix it, and keep my eyes open. Cheers

Cheers I've got a 1977 Chinook in my scrapyard out back. Not many good body parts though. Some good stuff available from Thailand. Came with the factory-optional twin hanging bunk beds which I'm hanging on to.

Ttcos
Thanks. No pre 78's at the moment, will keep eyes peeled for a part truck. Cheers
5Toyota
as I recall those grills are two separate parts halfs. also I think they are A B S plastic fix with abs black sewer pipe glue. 76 77 78 are pretty much the same. you half to split the grill to remove too change headlights quite a little job the badge goes on the joint line
