bufbooth
Are we sure its primary purpose is for storage? I was thinking its a high-tech wind draft, just like they are starting to put on the rear of semi-trailers...It probably adds an extra 2 to 3 mpg!... :-)
Derek up North
It probably adds an extra 2 to 3 mpg!... :-) Or nothing. Anyone want to book some wind tunnel time?
Totem
actually he may be right, all the new semis have those flaps that make a cone shape on the rear of the transport now here in the USA. They are also putting skirts underneath that are like ground effects on the rear of the transports. also on mythbusters I seem to recall they saying something about the semi benefitting also from a close drafter; which is what this would also simulate. Personally I like this idea to make an outdoor wet bar, shower and mini kitchen with storage as a secondary option
linda s
The frame of that storage unit looks kind of like the snap and nap bed feature on some of Stewart Gardiners campers. Maybe they pulled it off of a trashed one Linda S
TikiShack
Over 50% of the drag coefficient is on the rear. So this thing may or may not help MPG. I bet the ol boy didn't do a wind tunnel analysis before he hot glued it on there!
DanAatTheCape
I would put that in the red neck category for sure!
