needsunenergy
I removed my stove top hood to paint it and then connected it back together. The wiring seems right because i was able to turn on one of the lights that was connected to the circuit but as soon as i turned it off and on, the fuse blew. Can it be something metallic touching one of the wires? Idk what to do. I keep blowing fuses! hah
Maineah
Guess at this point the only thing to do is take it back out and see what happened. The little fan is also powered from the same circuit so check that too.
fred heath
Check the condition of the wire jacket where it passes into the hood. Somewhere you got your 12v hot going to ground. As 12v is considered (low voltage) electricians tape should work fine to cover a bare area on the wire. The fact it was working fine before removal gives you a good starting point. 5Toyota
plus or negtive on the light may not matter . but the fan moter most likly has to have the correct polarity
DanAatTheCape
if polarity is backwards on the fan it should run in reverse. something is grounding out. on mine, the switches are pretty cheap - they work intermittent now but no fuses are blowing
