hamkid Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 Need to install solar. Any opinions about this set up. https://www.windynation.com/Solar/WindyNation-Inc/Complete-100-Watt-Solar-Panel-Kit-With-P30L-Charge-Controller-and-100ah-Battery/-/4374?p=YzE9NDUx Quote
WME Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 A simple matched system. Get the 30A controller . It will let you grow your system with out getting a new controller. It will work with 2 more panels and another battery. Remember reducing power consumption is as important as extra power panels. LED lights and if you "need" a TV get a flat screen. Those are the 2 biggest power drains Quote
hamkid Posted October 24, 2019 Author Posted October 24, 2019 Should I buy any of these with it? https://www.windynation.com/Switches-Breaks/Windy-Nation-Inc/WindyNation-Solar-PV-MC4-Connector-In-Line-Fuse-Holder-w-Fuse-10A-15A-20A-30A/-/1242?p=YzE9MjI= Quote
WME Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 Won't hurt. Mount the fuse close to the solar panel. FWIW my roof is fiberglass and the cable run is in wood panels so Ive never fused the panels. The battery YES fuses Quote
Maineah Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 With the solar panel itself a fuse is not necessary but anything else connected to it yes. The normal test for current is to deadhead the panel yes a dead short with a current meter. Multiple panels series wired yes it would be a god ideal. Quote
