  1. Wanted to bump this thread, I ran into similar damage while doing my interior makeover, although mine doesn't seem as bad... Luckily my mattress has no water damage at all. Also doing some researching it looks like it might be caused from condensation??? I bought my rig in FL and could see how this could happen in that climate, luckily I'm in a dry climate now. Even on the ride home in MS we woke up in the middle of the night with real low temps and there was condensation everywhere. I'm gonna start my repair this week, I already removed the rotted boards and will update this thread, lots of good info... I kind of panicked at first sight but it seems pretty straight forward.
  2. Bad @$$! I just got done redoing mine as well, I did it a bit differently... im happy with it, it was a shit load of work though... lol.
  3. @jdemaris I mentioned it in passing, talking about a fully loaded quote from a tire shop, I'm not the one ranting, writing paragraphs about why its bullshit, basically arguing with yourself. I used to be an auto tech for 11 years and never sold anyone on or ever paid for nitrogen, so pull your head out of your @$$ and take some deep breaths dude.
  4. There are machines that do multiple inflation/deflations to ensure its filled completely with nitrogen, but damn man just let it go... how did this thread get so derailed? Anyways, no Chinese tires for me, ever. To each their own.
  5. @jdemaris @derek up north No shipping on the tires from big o... they're $81/tire from online tires for the RA08's but then the shipping evens out the price. I haven't even seen anyone selling the RA18's yet in the U.S. so that was cool I thought. Without nitrogen and lifetime balancing it drops to about $850 including tax. I'm going to be living in my rv full time traveling long distances so I'm not concerned about getting the cheapest tires possible, tires are an area where im not willing to skimp out.
  6. I just got a quote from the local Big O Tires here in Colorado for the new RA18's, for $107/tire, 6 tires with installation, nitrogen, lifetime balance, etc etc. for ~$930 I'm probably gonna pull the trigger soon..
  7. i'd be willing to bet it's leaking down from the valve covers or somewhere else. if you do indeed have a headgasket problem there really is no cheap solution to fix it, please never pour any 'head gasket sealer' or any other crap like that in your engine.
  8. probably a screw/bolt near the top... also probably have to pop the plastic trim off where the belt bolts to the b pillar and unbolt it from there. then the plastic should kinda just pop off. just don't yank super hard until you're pretty sure all the fasteners are out, check the bottom too.
  9. Thank you! I recently bought the same FRP paneling from Home Depot, will get to installing it soon hopefully.
  10. This is why I buy factory Toyota parts 95% of the time. Although you'd be surprised those are being made in China more and more now...
  11. I would think 75w-90 like all other toyota's, and fill it to just below the fill hole... probably a few quarts.
  12. As a side note my 86 4Runner (22RE) just hit 263k, original bottom end. I replaced the cylinder head (cracked) and did the timing chain/waterpump, etc 10k miles ago. My Warrior had the head gaskets replaced under recall in 99... Engine is still bone dry on the outside, only 3.0 I've ever seen like that *knock on wood*
  13. About 10mpg but I failed emissions horribly for CO and slightly on HC, I found my oxygen sensor to be fouled (it was original, 62k), replaced with a denso unit. I just need to get it retested, hopefully it passes... My oxygen sensor is reading normally now though, it was stuck on the lean side with the old one which would cause it to run very rich trying to compensate. Doesn't really consume any oil as of yet, i've only owned it for ~2500 miles and it hasn't lost any. Timing belt has been replaced, I pulled the upper cover back and could see it's an aftermarket gates belt, I may change it again though since I'm not sure how old it is, would put a Toyota/Mitsuboshi on it.
  14. I guess I lucked out getting the full manual with my Warrior, some day when I have time I should do a scan of it... probably would take a while though.
  15. Do you have any details on your bathroom remodel? I'm in the process of gutting mine now to install some new tile board panels, just looking for as much info as I can get. Also need to replace a rotted out roof beam...
