  1. Hey Toyo! I don’t have a 4x4. Just my luck I wired up the LSPV and realized the valve was stuck! Couldn’t figure out a way to loosen it up so I’m stuck LoL!
  2. I remember Rogue. I live close to Akron Ohio an old industrial town and the shop was very old with forges. The price spread for similar work in different parts of the country is Amazing. 10% sales tax Wow!
  3. That’s interesting because the owner of the old spring shop I had my work done doesn’t like or recommend air bags either! BTW your not gunna like this but all new bushings, Hot arched, 2 new heavy duty leaves on each side, new brackets $450 out the door! Rides like a dream.
  4. Yep! I’m off to buy parts in Elkhart Indiana!
  5. Hey Kirk had the same problem with Grannie. Went to an old school spring shop in Akron Ohio where they re-arched my springs in a hot forge and added 2 additional heavy duty leafs to each side. I also installed Bilstein shocks all around. I don’t have air bags. After all this was done her sagging rear end was raised 5 inches! She now sits level and No bottoming out anymore.
  6. I have Historical Plates on Grannie in Ohio. Keeps her from e checks also! Saves a ton of money.
  7. I recently redid the interior of Grannie (read my post “Grannie got a Facelift” I Recommend priming the walls first before painting. I used a cream color and made the inside bright and airy. I hated the old dark paneling! I also removed the old vent over the stove and replaced it with Bright LEDs. It’s amazing what a little paint can do!
  8. I Agree! I’ve learned a lot from you Dan. Thank You! You taught me how to properly drive Grannie also. Best to You!
  9. On Grannie my range hood did not vent outside the rig. I removed the hood with it’s lousy lighting/noisy fan and installed LED lights there. I also installed a Maxxair Deluxe fan over the upper bunk to provide proper ventilation if needed for cooking. Enlarged the kitchen area with much better lighting!
  10. Yea I had to prime Everything before applying the paint so the paint wouldn’t peal chip or crack. The results were worth the extra efforts!
  11. Nice Job tone! I hated the wood paneling in Grannie so I painted over all of it a cream white. Makes the interior nice and bright now and actually looks new!
  12. I applied the Eternabond tape to the rear seam also! The rest of the roof is one piece aluminum.
  13. I have a metal roof also. I bought a 50’ roll of 4 in width Eternabond tape on eBay for a song!
  14. If I were to ever go solar I’d get portable units so I wouldn’t have to park my rig in the sun to get the panels to charge fully!
  15. I agree Eternabond tape for your front seam is the way to go. When I resealed Grannies roof I cleaned the whole seam area scraping off any old sealent and applied 4” wide Eternabond tape over the seal. Perfect!
  16. So after many hours of prepping and applying 6 coats of Zep last year Grannie looked beautiful But this year the black streaks and spots reappeared again Go Figure! I thought the Zep would protect my finish but it Doesn’t! The streaks are imbedded in the Zep so when you apply a cleaner the Zep gets washed off. So it’s back to the Barkeepers Friend and scrubbing Grannie Again. Am just going to apply a quality wax and forget the Zep. What do y’all do to avoid streaks and black spots? My rig is parked in full sun no trees.
  17. Grannie has many black streaks developing and I want to clean her for storage. Regular car wash doesn’t do Anything. Stubborn stuf! What do y’all use to clean the streaks? I’ve heard of simple green. What causes these streaks? Can you prevent them? My rig is parked in my driveway under no trees out in the open. Thanks BTW I zepped my rig last year and thought that would eliminate streaking.
  18. I agree with jm! Generators are Loud and very intrusive. Even my Honda 2000i is loud when running my roof AC! So whatever genny you buy just remember it will most likely run on full load while running your AC and will be Loud!
