  11. the biggest safety thing to make sure of that it has a full floating six lug one ton rear axle. many were built with the the very light duty five lug rear axle. those axles break off and have caused bad crashes. read axle facts on here and welcome. unless it is one of the super small light wt models it must have the heavy duty rear axle. and welcome to the group.
  12. haven't seen one of those in a while as I recall they used to use those for radio static reduction. but I remember the old round metal case ones. that looks to be the same thing. don't know why it would effect the engine.
  13. engine is pretty much a Tecumseh lawn mower engine.

  20. if you don't have that I think it should have come with it but those help parts sections in the parts stores have things like that and it should not cost very much.
  21. on my 88 4WD XTRA CAB which has way way more miles then my dolphin and I run mostly local use . I kept fowling the plugs and getting ruff idle iwent to one number hotter plug. and fixed the problem .Do you think your new head valve job could have raised the compression on old rings have you pulled the plugs and checked them.
  22. got to be old like me to remember those cars . and that is a very neat tool I did not know about that tool.
  23. I would say could be timing but there is plug under the hood on the right side you have too short 2 points together in it . because some of the timing is computer controlled . and you can then use a timing light and losen the distributer. and turn it I had a very simler problem to you on my other Toyota 87 4WD XTRA cab.jd CAN MOST LIKLY DIRECT YOU BETTER THEN I CAN. or wme
  24. if the valves are tight it will eventuly burn the valves and or the valve seats because they do not close all the way.
