Here on the Oregon coast, fleas are a scourge. People use bark dust for landscaping and fleas love it. Despite the fact that my cats are indoor only, I would have to wash them and the carpet monthly. I'm sure that I have DNA damage from all the chemicals that I used. What got rid of them for good was when I installed a dehumidifier. Fleas can't breed or survive in low humidity, at least the ones here in Oregon. I haven't found a single flea in the house since I keep the dehumidifier on. I left it on in the motor home for a week.

I just ditched my satellite service. I realized I was paying $1,000 a year to watch six channels. I have DSL at both my places and take the laptop in my MH. If there's no WIFI, I watch a DVD on it. Verizon will be coming out with real wireless 4G service later this year. It will have 9MB download speed. I may ditch my DSL for it and then I can use wireless in a lot of places. There's a lot more to watch on the net than satellite, cable or regular over the air.

I need a reality check. Starting about eight years ago, I noticed that the fan, generator, etc belts in my Toyhomes needed excessively frequent adjustments. Now that I have the six cylinder, I have the same belt stretching problem. My other vehicle is an Astro which has a serpentine belt with a spring tensioned idler which is self adjusting. Are they making the belts less durable?

In a fit of temporary insanity, I purchased a German Shepherd puppy. I forgot about house breaking. chewing and barking. The good news is that he's a definite babe magnet. Women stop traffic to look at him. Wherever I go, people want to pet him and take pictures with him. His name is Fritz Von Doggy. Oh, he discovered the roll of toilet paper in the motor home and tp'd the place.

The 12v element is meant only to maintain the fridge after it is running steady on gas or 110v. It was never meant to start the fridge. The chemical process keeps running for a good while after the fridge is turned off so you can keep it off for a while.I leave it off for a eight hour trip without a problem. A gallon of propane is 91,600 Btu's of energy. The fridge uses about 1,000 Btu's/hour at full on. However, it usually is in pilot mode most of the time. If the coils are well vented or you install a small computer fan to vent them, it will sip even less propane. One thing to do to also help is to park so that the sun shines on the other side of the motor home to keep the fridge even cooler.

One other item to consider is one of the aerosol can boat horns. They are painfully loud.

I met someone passing through here with a Toyhome that had the 3.4 liter installed. He said that his gas mileage dropped to 12MPG but it was substantially faster on the highway.

Any one ever convert their crank up TV antenna to hold a satellite dish?

I bought my 1,000 watt at Costco but you got to catch when they have them. I think it was $80. I just bought a 2,000 watt steady/4,000 watt surge at Harbor Freight for $130 on sale for when I add a second coach battery. I'd wait for a sale.

Why? If it's for your MH get at least a 1,000 watt. You can get a decent one on sale for $80. That way you can power a microwave oven. I run my 1,000 watt for my microwave without the engine on no problem.

I hope it is finished before my son inherits my Toyhome in my will. It's taking so long that I feel that I'm back working for the government. I've been slack in getting it together. My plate is so darned full. I'll try and review the entries soon. I wish people would make submittals as decent JPGs. We have some good talent out there.

You can find the LEDs to fit the interior sockets. Be carefull!!! I know they say they last for a jillion hours. The cheap ones don't last long. Usually these are multiple LEDs in a socket. The light output is terrible. I'm talking from personal experience. They failed quickly and the output was dim. I bought mine from superbrightleds.com Never again, they were junk. Another thing to consider is the color output. Some of them have a very unnatural color. Generally the one and three what jobs are usually better quality.
