    Running Lights

Problem solved. It is a little door on the back of the driver's side kick panel. You need to practice three days of being a contortionist to access it.
  2. Where is the fuse for the running lights on a 90 Winny? They are completely out.
  3. The 110 volt electric blanket that surrounds the element for electric distillation. DUH!!!!!
  4. I have a 5 cf fridge. It stopped working . The electric blanket is hot and I turned it all the way up. There is no ammonia odor either. Any ideas?
  5. It says in there "aluminum" frame. Please do not post unless you have a schematic of the frame.
  6. Winnebago won't give you the right time of day, that's why I posted.
  7. Does anyone Have a schematic of a 91 Winnebago metal coach frame? Thanks
  8. I plan to go to Loeb state park just north of California on the coast. I am going with a group to Gold Beach in September. I haven't picked a time yet. Let me know if any ones interested.
  9. Here's the info you want. You can buy them at just about any parts store for cheap about $40.

    Where

I found the isolator. Now if only I could get juice to the box. As I said, there is shore power power and still no juice.

    Boiling Water

I've used a 1,000 watt with 600 watt micro for years and never run down the battery.

    Where

I have a 91 Winny. I hadn't started it in a week and the battery was weak. It's pretty new. So I'm charging it. First, I went looking for the isolator. I can't find it. Being lazy, I thought that I would ask. Also what do you recommend for a replacement. Next, The inside lights don't work. There's juice at the box. I thought it was independent of the chassis battery. It's the upgraded converter. Thanks
  14. There are special tools that are not in a kit. The one that's most important is the two wrenches to get it the fan belt that comes off the power steering pump.
  15. I bought a GPS that has an external antenna jack. The antenna is a little flat square device. I ordered it on the net. I glued it to the roof. Now I get a strong GPS signal all the time.
  16. My five foot Norcold operates great on 110v. However, sometimes when I switch to gas after the fridge is off for a few hours, the igniter light is on before the gas is lit. When this happens, the gas won't work. If I try and switch to gas immediately after switching from electric, it works fine. If I leave the igniter switch on after a few hours it finally goes out and I can use the gas. Any ideas what is wrong?

    Arghhhhhh

I followed the Parallax diagnostic directions and found that the wire from the coach battery was shorting out. I crawled underneath and traced the wire. I found that a wiring harness retainer let go. The harness and battery wire fell on the exhaust shorting out. I repaired it and all systems go again. I think my 1,000 watt inverter might be damaged from it. No biggee, I've been sitting on a new 2,000 watt unit that I bought on sale.

The Parallax staff responded and I learned something that I would like to share. The two 30amp fuses on their circuit board are not overload protectors. They are reverse polarity protectors. The converter circuit responds faster than any fuse. I pulled those two fuses and got a 13.5 voltage reading. So there's nothing wrong with the converter. I have a short somewhere in the coach circuit. I have a suspicion. I was out at my farm where it is being cleared for restoration. There's a lot of debris like barbed wire on the ground. I am going to do a thorough under chassis inspection.

Thanks for the wiring diagram. Well, I found one of the 30amp breakers in the coach battery box fried. I heard it clicking on and off when I was camped. Also my 1,000 watt inverter wouldn't work (now disconnected). It had a reading of a fault. The coach battery is in great condition. I replaced the fried breaker. When I went to hook the battery to the positive a huge spark flashed so I did not connect it. Nothing was turned on in the MH. I plugged the motor home in with the battery disconnected. The 12v lighting still does not work. I don't read any 12v at the converter. The 110 system works fine and no breakers or fuses in the converter were tripped or blown. I have the Parallax 7345RU upgrade installed in the converter. Shouldn't the 12v work off the converter without the battery connected? Could the converter have failed and blown the battery breaker? Ideas out there???? Thanks
  20. No one has the coverage Verizon does. Look at the coverage maps. One thing that helps a lot is having a cell phone with an antenna port. I get 50-100% more coverage with an external roof antenna. Of course they stopped selling cell phones with external antenna ports. I bought a used LG VX8300 off ebay. The way around that is an antenna adapter cord that places a universal patch on the back of the cell phones that acts as a passive repeater to the external antenna. Not all phones allow this. Here's the reference sites and the site for the best external antennas. I bought a magnetic and glued it to my aluminum roof. Here's a list of phones and type of adapters. http://www.wilsonelectronics.com////Adapters.php http://www.cellphoneshop.net/exanforceph.html http://www.cellantenna.com/index.php?id=exadapters
  21. I have a Winny Warrior. Did they ever make a coach wiring diagram? Not truck chassis but coach.

    Crater Lake

Finally had a camping trip. We went to Stuart State Park south of Crater Lake Oregon. I learned something. It shows Lost Creek Reservoir next to the camp ground on the drawings. What it didn't show is that the Reservoir is down a very steep hill from the campground with no steps.

    New Addition

I think Fritz Von Doggy is a prehistoric saber toothed German Shepherd. Every day I wake up, he looks bigger. He insists that I drive with my arm around him. A friend was bragging that she raised German Shepherds and would show me how to make him obey. He Promptly grabbed her hand then flipped over on his back and twirled his legs. So much for obedience school. He tore open the door of his crate. Thankfully, he likes the motor home. The next test is him and the cats in the MH together.
