  1. My front window (seabreeze "sister of the dolphin") was cracked and leaking, I removed the window this weekend, purchased a 60"x30" 1/8' sheed of plexiglass, used the old window as a pattern cut and fit a new flat window, used a accriic adhesive-caulk to reinstall to fram. I disposed of the old age cracked ruber seal. The new window being clear I purchased and installed a "pickup rear window shade-privacy screen and installed over my front window. I did Seal the "window decal in with clear sealer around the edges. If it goes bad I have more material to redo the window 2 more times.
  2. Every shop needs to charge acording to the cost of their overhead, ect. I my shop (this is not an attempt to gain your work) Front brakes pads, rotors and labor ( acording to the Mitchel labor manual) would be $292 plus tax, Eshaut I replaced on my own rig complete for $220 in parts and posible $150 in labor. We are not the cheepest shop in our area nor the most costly. I would recomend a second opinion.
  3. my pump is under the couch next to the water tank
  4. When setting up for home base, I use drive on ramps for leveling. To make a side trip, town, or sites I unplug, take off hose, close the awning, set out our site occupied (so no one thinks we abandoned or chairs, cords, and hose) takes less than 2 min. to be closed up and be ready to head out. Upon return we just back onto the leveling ramps, plug in, conect hose, get a cold drink and relax. There have been no restrants, stores or sites which we were unable to drive in and park ( 2 spots) A toyhome is easyer and shorter than any 5th wheel/truck, this makes it easy to make a unplaned stop when you see something of interest. 5. We leave our dog in our toyhouse, using a maxivent temp. controlled fan (12 volt) which makes it as cool as laying in the shade outside. I purchase a new ac unit (roof mounted) this winter mainly for our dog on hot days, We are outside and the dog likes to be inside
  6. I have used "black streak remover and a good scrub brush, then power wash, Holes filled with marine epoxi and rustolium spay paint - found a perfect match for coler. toped of with "Nue Glase" 7 coats, shines like new, and reseals the fiberglase splinters
  7. A new O2 sensor would help milage if not allready new. the 02 is how your computer reads and adjusts our injectors. - fuel to air ratio
  8. Great Info. Cool trailers, I use a trailer made to pull behind a mortorcycle, closed is 90 cubic ft. Lets u take along things you would of left behind; like extra chairs, 30# gas tank, screen room. Using the trailer keeps the motor home cleaner and ready to go anytime. Down side is backing up, and the light weight of the trailer (100#) gives your trailered things a bumpy ride causing some unexpedted wear.
  9. I have a sea breeze, no step, but the inside step up is a fiberglass shell, I think mounting a step to this shell would damage the inner step, because of the leverage of the extended step. I us a 8" x18"x24" folding metel stool "step" that I store flat on the floor (only 1") when traveling. I think it came from camping world around $80. The step is also coated with a very agresive non slip material and does not sink in to the ground at the camp site.
  10. Good idea: the truck ac will cool the small cab, thanks
  11. Thank you! I didn't think to do the math You saved me some head ackes, and some $ thanks
  12. Has any one tried to use a 3,000 watt inverter (monted under hood and run from trucks alt/battery, only when driving) to operate the roof top A/C?
  13. Oh Boy, you people are makeing me really itchy, My Toy is still under 2 ft of snow and I have a bad case of spring fever I will not take my toy out before the salt is off the roads.

I like the look the look of your flush mount leds! Do you think light cover (defuser) is needed or does this work good without?[
  15. The prob - the bed area always looks messy, the origanal cusions are like bricks, and the bed is to narow for 2 adults (feels like a coffin ) to open up the overhead for travel just to much hassel ( where do you put your bedding?) My first fix was to install a 80 X 50 high dens. foam over the cusions (better, more comfortable, but don't roll off, the floor is a long way down . My idea (and please pick it apart and improve!) remove the factory cusions, install a 3/4 plywood 78"X50" with a 2" edge on the outside edge ( to help from rolling off) , piano hinged midpoint, open to a right angle attached at the ceiling, leaving the overhead vent and side windows open, and creating a storage area behind the closed bed for the bedding out of sight . this would make a slightly larger bed, and when closed leave more room inside camper, making it easyer for the passenger to move about when driving, possibly install a thin flat screen under the bed in the open area. When the bed is stowed for the day, the flat screen would be in a great viewing area. thinking about lift struts to ease opening, and to hold open. Ideas PLEASE
  16. When your problem happened did the engine rev up or did the engine rpm decrese? Increased rpm = tran problem : Decresed rpm = engine problem Narow the problem down to a system, then within that system narow the problem down untill you find the fix. A fuel filter is good maint. and is good to replace anyway, but beyond the simple (ie: cheaper to replace than time to diagnose) find out what is failing before replacing to many parts.
  17. I puchased a new one complete - easy mount - around 24.00 (big discount rv.com)
  18. The top edge of your awning goes in that chanel, I purchased a awning, installed it my self for under $500. Dealer wanted $1200. Only needed 2 hrs, and after doing it I could probible install one in under 45 min. A Proper awning, easy to open and close (takes about 1.5 min.) . awning keeps the dew off your furniture, gives you a place to sit in the rain, and keeps the sun from baking you. a place to hang your lights from. I would never be with out one. PS if you need more info or tips on install E Mail me at pdinc2@msn.com Dale From WI
  19. I am in central WI Rebuild engine Aprox 2200, labor and misc. parts (plugs, wires filter, Maybe water pump ect) 2000 or about 4200 as a rough est. HOWEVER PRICES will very by area, as overheads very greatly. This is not a solictation for work, only a comparison Dale 89 Sea Breeze
  20. I am in agreement with you! I like all the toys I can get, and I don't like the noise of a generator. I use solar panels and led lights minimize power consumtion. While we are at it how about installing elect. leveling system; I have not found a system small enough for clearance and wind drag. I want to pull in to a site, level up, pull the awanging, set out chairs and have a beverage to relaxe after our drive. And be able to fold up and leave in minutes to run to town or see the sites.
  21. The voltage regulator will also keep from overcharging
  22. Use the lowest possible octain avalable - if your truck runs good (no spark knock). The lower the octain the higher your gas mileage. Higher octain actualy has less energy units. The higher octain's purpose is to stop spark knock, or the piston fireing under compresion befor spark.
  23. speeking of hiding or locking up, did you know our keys for for our storage areas work on all campers, I was told this, and at camping get together used my key (while the owners watched) and opened new and older units alike. Have new locks ordered - most campers are great people, but we have seen and stopped people coming at 3 am by boat, looking for what the can steal.
  24. has not set their status

  25. I have never started with gas, usally starting 2 days ahead pluged in to 110 v, loading as much as possible 1 day ahead, switching to gas to hit the road. I did have trouble keeping cool on gas, but added a solar powered fan in the fridge chase (about one foot below the roof line) The system now functions great. And yes the system does get hot, or uncofortable to touch.
