  1. This is spring time in Wy. Weather is a bit unpredictable. If your traveling here this time of the year in your toy and the weather gets questionable, pull in to a rest stop, truck stop or Walmart. Snuggle up and play cards until it clears up. BTW after I-80 reopened there were several smaller wrecks further down the road as folks were hurrying to make lost time. I-80 was completely reopened to normal traffic on the 18th http://laramielive.com/highway-patrol-estimates-45-vehicles-involved-in-i-80-accident-27-transported-to-hospital/?trackback=fbshare_mobile_top
  2. Yep the I've got more HP so I have to use it applies to most hot rodding stuff, and reduced MPG is the result. But it is much fun. BTW the restriction on a 22RE intake is not the MAF but the throttle itself. On my Escaper I bored out the throttle body and installed a larger butterfly. The purpose was for the same air flow and power at lower throttle setting so that I could go up the rolling hills here with out forcing the transmission to downshift.
  3. Check out FRP for the paneling. Think about just using some plywood construction adhesive.
  4. Yea the AF sheet metal guys are good guys to know. My story was I had a friend in the US who was building a 35" sailboat, so he asked to get some rails and a ships wheel made out of teak. Got it done and had the shop make shipping boxes. So they whipped up some crates and I shipped the stuff back to the states. Later I found out the crates were teak and the boat builder friend sold the empty boxes for more than the railings and wheel cost him Cool storage box too.
  5. Goggle POR-15 for stop rust products. An empty Propane tank is just as dangerous as a full one. You need to go to a commercial propane store and see if they can purge your tank. A purged tank is safe even around open flame.
  6. A diode is automatic. Hot wired and a switch will do just fine to experiment with. Just remember to turn OFF the fan at night.
  7. A diode between the battery and fan will do what you want. Something in the 7-10 amp range
  8. 50 sq. ft. will do the cab and doors no problem. Make sure you read the descriptions of absorber and damper. They are different things. Extreme is asphalt base and it may outgas fumes in hot weather for a while
  9. A 5" fan draws about .36 amps or about 4.5 watts so hooking it directly to the panels means that 85w is still going to your batteries. The idea is to just do a quick check out and see if its worth more of your time at a later date.
  10. Are those solar panels in your "southern Utah" pics yours? If they are and you start having problems with the refer just duct tape a 12v computer fan to your vent and rig it to the panels. May you can move enough air to help things, and at night the panels will shut the fan off.
  11. Ok for cheapskates ;-)..http://www.redroverroadtrek.com/FridgeManometer.html.

    Coach Battery

Sounds like an auto reset circuit breaker tripping and resetting. The reason???? Maybe battery is hooked up backwards. Old Toys have a lot of NON standard wiring. So check the your - wire and make sure it goes to ground. If its OK then follow the rest of the wires and look for a short some where. If you cant find the problem un hook the battery until you can trouble shoot the problem correctly.
  13. I wondered about the magnet strips. They must have been for storage or a drying rack when washing dishes. Because they would be a pain to get to when you were chopping something
  14. I've used these folks when we had a major coach A/C problem when it was 118 in the shade. http://www.utahrvzz.com/map-and-directions-dealership--hours
  15. A picture is worth a thousand words....http://www.mantank.com/products/rvproducts.htm
  16. Interesting, I've seen the same sort of of idea using a piano hinge where the sink is near a wall. The lid had magnetic strips underside so you put knifes and such on them when the lid was up.
  17. Put it all back together and see how the stove works.
  18. Can you see the flame through the match light port?
  19. When your driving there is air flow around the frfer, making it nice and cold. When parked the air flow is stagnet. To check can you run the gas while on the road and see if things freeze?
  20. All propane tanks have a vent valve (spit valve) it lets out the propane gas so that the liquid propane can fill the tank. It also serves as the full tank indicator, when liquid propane comes out of the vent the tank is full!
  21. Well that pic is interesting. I went back and looked at more of your pics. You have a very problematic installation. Your air flow is zip around the needed parts. A fan will be needed no doubt. Adding another vent where the lower door is will help. The refer needs air flow around the lower finned tube and the upper finned tube. The upper one is the most important.
  22. Some where you have an inverter to convert the 12v DC to 110v AC to run the refer. Look and see how much power the refer takes. There should be a label that says how much it uses, either in watts or amps. Rough estimate is a 3 amp refer is using 30 amps of 12v power to make it work. You have a 40 or 60 amp alternator. So at night you could be cutting it close. A large battery will help buffer things. If you forget to turn off the refer it will kill a battery in a couple of hours. So plug in asap. The rest of your thoughts are correct.
  23. What is the voltage requirement for the refer?? 110v AC or 12v DC??
