  1. Well I don't think over reacting is going to help. Just turn it off and open some windows and turn off gas appliances. It will dissipate pretty quickly. In my case there was no propane guy. One place offered to check for the leak for $160. I told them it was the regulator but they said they still had to charge that and wouldn't tell me if they would fix it. After calling every place in town and going in person to both of the big propane suppliers I ended up having to do it myself. No one will work on RV propane tanks near me. I have to say thank you to them. Only cost 20 bucks and now I feel confident handling propane work. I have another RV that needs some propane lines replaced. No problem, I can handle it Linda S
  2. Very cool site but I still can't find JD's trailer. And JD protect that artwork. Vintage folk art adds to the value. Linda S
  3. Well your trailer is just getting better. The Kreft fridge was used on Shasta trailers and Airstreams in the 50's so yours probably dates from around then. For that thing to just be sitting all those years and still be in such good shape is a miracle. Gas lamps can still be found both new and restored. http://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=toolbar-instant&hl=en&ion=1&qscrl=1&rlz=1T4ADFA_enUS407US407#hl=en&qscrl=1&rlz=1T4ADFA_enUS407US407&biw=1360&bih=612&sclient=psy-ab&q=trailer+with+gas+lamps&oq=trailer+with+gas+lamps&gs_l=serp.3...31273.40621.0.41011.43.29.0.2.2.7.438.4146.0j23j3j0j1.27.0...0.0...1c.1.18.psy-ab.RYvrxC6y8TA&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&fp=3e14400e88547fdc&ion=1 I have yet to find a trailer with smooth siding on the top and wavy on the bottom. I think I remember seeing some like this but can't find them now. I think it might be a very early Shasta so early 50s Can't wait to see what you do with it Linda S
  4. There were some 18 foot Sunrader without the rear dinette. They had a longer window on the rear passenger side and there was a sofa bed there. All the appliances were along the rear drivers side. I think it seemed roomier inside with that floor plan. Sorry but very rare and I have never saved any pics of the ones I have seen. Nice to have a sofa to relax on. Linda S
  5. Man you guys are wimps. If I was closer I'd take it off your hands in a minute. I love it Linda S
  6. This locks on to your 4 inch sewer hoser carrier bumper. Sunrader frame extensions are very strong. I wouldn't worry about the weight of just one tire and wheel http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/Universal-RV-Tire-Carrier/64844/&?&affiliateid=3274&cvsfa=2734&cvsfe=2&cvsfhu=3634383434&gclid=CN_G3efXibgCFSU6Qgod9noAZA Buy a nice cover to put over it and it could look pretty nice Linda S
  7. I see a lot of soap and water. This is a vintage trailer and fixed up they go for a lot of money. Best part is the outside siding still has very smooth skin. I don't really see any ripples at all. The original fridge is fantastic looking. Can you see a brand anywhere? Some of the old Scotties sell for 5 grand and more. I looked for an example but couldn't find a good one as old as yours. It's worth some bucks for sure and irestoration would be a breeze for you. Look for brand name and I will try to find some sale prices Linda
  8. Just buy your plugs at a Toyota dealer. They are not expensive and they will come pre-gapped Linda S
  9. No they can be overfilled. The pressure release often doesn't let loose until the tank is already overfilled. It just happened to me. I questioned the guy when he charged me for 7.1 gallons cause I know it can't hold that much but thought his gauge was off to steal some extra money. Well when I turned the gas on the regulator blew. Changed it out myself and now all is good. Gas station atendants are often not trained all that well. Linda S
  10. The VG30i is a 3 L (2,960 cc) engine produced from 1986 through 1989. It features a throttle body fuel injection system. It has a long crank snout, a cylinder head temperature sensor positioned behind the timing belt cover, and a knock sensor in the cylinder valley (on California models only). It produces 140 PS (103 kW; 138 hp) at 4,800 rpm and 226 N·m (167 ft·lbf) at 2,800 rpm. These are the correct numbers for the nissan hardbody v6 from 86 to 89. The VG30i was the only model used in the v6 Nissan Sunraders. Not going to get 30mpg but I get a solid 15 at 70 mph and more if I slow down. Linda S
  11. I thought Odyssey's had permanent under mounted tanks. So yours are horizontal removable tanks? Darn I have a friend parting out an odyssey and I thought I could snag a new tank from him. Guess not Linda S
  12. Pretty sure I know the one your talking about. It's an 86 not 87 chassis but that is still fine and yes the pics look pretty good.
  13. I think that it's important that you don't go anywhere until you have filed in small claims court against him. Most small claims actions are heard within 30 days. You've waited long enough. To evict you he has to also file for that and you have a right to appeal. If in your appeal you include your current action against him I think his eviction will be seen as retaliation and denied. He has essentially destroyed your other home and you therefore have no where to go. Please don't wait. Just file your claim in small claims court and get this taken care of. You might get him to agree in court to free rent until your judgement against him is paid off. Then you can save what you would have paid for rent towards another motorhome Linda S
  14. Well I personally know about 6 other owners and there are few I kind of know the where abouts but don't know the owner. I was originally told that only 6 were made. Now it looks more like 10 to 15. I get a solid 15mpg with mine. If I slow down I can get up to 17. I consider that super fine for a motorhome. better than the Toyota v6's. Linda S Join my group and post pics. The other Nissan v6 Sunrader owners and I would love to see it http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/minitruckcampers/
  15. So your tires are telling you what pressure you can run. Max on front is 50 and rear is 65. I would run the front at max and the rear at 60 Linda S
  16. Your going to replace one of the most dependable v6's out there with 140 hp with a diesel that puts out like 63 hp. I don't get your reasoning Linda S What year is your Nissan Sunrader and how long have you owned it. I try to keep track of them since so few were made with the v6
  17. According to the Sunrader brochures on the toyota-campers site it's the opposite. 13 gallon black and 18 gallon grey for that model. Maybe someone switched them? Have no idea Linda S
  18. Yours is a rear kitchen and side bath or rear big bathroom. The big bathroom has an 18 gallon black tank and the side bath has a 13 gallon black tank so either way more room for the nasties than I have. If side bath your grey tank has to be right next to the black one. Can you replumb shower to grey tank. That has an 18 gallon capacity Linda
  19. Where is this inscription? certainly not on the tires. They have no front and rear max pressure tags. max pressure on the tires should be 65lb and I run mine 50 or 55 in front and 60 in the back. Linda S
  20. All Sunrader models had a 21 gallon fresh water tank. . Original water pumps were 2.5 gallons per minute so best case scenario with water on full blast is a little over 8 minutes of water. With water conservative shower head and low flow on the water you should be able to double this figure. On my mini 18 footer the issues is long before the water is gone I'm going to be standing in crap. Only a 9 gallon black tank and that's what the shower drains into. I have an outdoor shower that contects to my sink but usually resort to camping by lakes and streams or hit Flying J or other truck stops to clean up when on the road. Linda S
  21. I don't know where the original poster went but I tried repeatedly to contact him about his rig and got no response. Sounds like a nice morohome so I hope he gets in touch with someone. Linda S They just sent me pics. Very dirty but for the price might be pretty good.
  22. My Sunrader came with KYB shocks on it over nine years ago and they are just starting to feel like they need to be replaced. They could be much older. I had Monroe's put on my Explorer 4 years ago and they are shot. Never will buy Monroe's again for anything. Junk Linda S
  23. A Toyota Dolphin is just one brand of many available Toyota motorhomes out there. Often a better idea to look at condition and mileage first before brand. Best case senario is 86 and newer to insure that the axle is the correct full floating one and better to have fuel injection if your anywhere near mountains. I'm guessing your somewhere in northern Cal cause that's the only place I could find a tag axle Dolphin. Lots of Toyota motorhomes available near here. Keep your options open. Newer 4 cylinders have a little more power too and that's very important when you running so much weight. Linda S
  24. Sorry it happened but it is never legal to let someone ride up there. Glass shards ? It's supposed to be tempered glass and should have broken into little balls. Someone replaced the glass with not the right kind to save some money. Glad no one was hurt. Linda S
  25. Sorry to hear about your injuries. Take care of yourself and your little one. Linda S
