  1. My friend Mark in Texas has this combo and did not need to install a hard start capacitor. Gets pretty hot in Texas Linda S
  2. I have a Sunrader but my coach battery goes in a separate compartment. Can you post a picture of what this cover looks like and I will try to find you something. Linda S
  3. Well this would be a permanent carpet replaement. Molded to fit the truck and install the seats over. Only fits back to 84 though. I don't remember what year you ended up keeping. http://www.stockinteriors.com/moldedvinyl.asp?Itemid=13103&MakeId=37&ModelId=484 They sell by the yard too if you kept the older one. Linda S
  4. The only AC that will work with a Honda 2000 is the 9200 BTU Coleman Polar Cub. I've been told PPL RV parts has the best price including shipping. Linda S Got your new wheels on yet? Send me a pic
  5. Ok I know I was a part of it but enough. Back the gr8white's problems. And our support of him. Linda S
  6. I have never had to go through any crap to get my insurance to pay. Not when the tree branch went through my roof or my kitchen was gutted by fire. And thank god for the health insurance cause that fire put my 15 year old in intensive care for 8 days. Do you even know where insurance started? Ships. Investors gambled on expensive trips to the new world, here, to find goods. Many of those ships didn't come back and with the advent of insurance they could guarantee their investment. No liberals but the investors who were in many ways responsible for the expansion of the world economy. Capitalism at it's highest and with that progress and invention. As for liability if you choose not to buy it and live in the boonies fine, but if like I do live in the city and the next house is 20ft away you had better have it cause if your house goes up in flames and it catches on mine your going to pay. And if you drive that car and hit me I want my car fixed dammit. If you have any doubts about what happens when people don't have the proper insurance look at gr8white's issue. His mechanic didn't buy the proper insurance and his life has been turned upside down because of it. Insurance is a good thing.
  7. I'm sure they can't be all bad but my 35 dollar thermostat from Toyota wouldn't open at all. Not even sitting in a pot of boiling water. Thank goodness I took the time to test it out before I tried to go anywhere. They wouldn't take it back either. Bought a 7 dollar one from auto parts store and it still works fine Linda S
  8. They are out there just very rare. There are some v6 models that have a 5 speed manual too. Also quite a number of 84 and 85 that have been upgraded the the good axle. It's just that they go so fast when they are listed. Linda S
  9. I looked country wide and that is the only one I could find not already gone. other listings had been deleted. I use www.adhuntr.com to find motorhomes but the ads don't usually show up for a couple of days and the manual tranny ones with the full float axles are gone in a heartbeat. Email them. Can't hurt to try. Some people are really nice and when they find out how much you like their camper they will bend over backward to help you out. I'll keep looking too. Your in the midwest? You could join my yahoo group too. We kind of specialize in finding people motorhomes and post everything we see. http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/minitruckcampers/ Linda S
  10. Same exact ad is also listed in Florida. If it sounds too good to be true it is a scam. Real value of a rig like this would be 12 grand or more. Who do you know who just gives their money away Linda S
  11. Here's one and not a bad price either. Might be a ways to travel but many of us have gone a very long way to pick up the RV we wanted http://rapidcity.craigslist.org/rvs/3871519505.html Linda S
  12. Nope not available anywhere. All supplies have been exhausted and not made anymore. I bought some extras but now I can't find them. Some people have made replacements from gallon milk jugs or plastic storage bowls. Time to get creative Linda S
  13. PPL rv parts has lots of part for that awning but I couldn't find the one your looking for. You could call them on Monday and ask http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/rv_parts_rv_accessories.htm This guy in Arizona has quite a few parts too http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/rvs/3919573303.html And then there is Dr George in norhtern Cal. He probably has the largest selection of used parts anywhere http://www.rvdoctorgeorge.com/ Linda S
  14. Answer for roof vent question on other thread. It depends on what your talking about. There are roof vents and then there are roof vent covers which are installed above the existing roof vent to be able to leave it open in the rain and while driving. if you could post links to what you bought and the Maxair vent cover you are talking about we could explain further Linda S
  15. No all RV's come with a battery isolater that will protect your truck battery from be drained. Linda S
  16. Probably be a good idea to start the AC before you remove it. I'm sure any buyer would want to know that it works. Linda S
  17. I'd be willing to bet it has the bad axle. That makes the price way too high. it's an 83 or older too http://fayetteville.craigslist.org/rvs/3889610336.html Linda S
  18. I did discover though that the lock up doesn't work unless you engage overdrive. I don't have one on my Toyota but I do on my Nissan so good to know. Linda S
  19. For an appraiser to evaluate your camper it had to be preserved and they needed to look at it immediately after the fire. You can explain this in court and provide your comps. His insurance company prevented you from getting an accurate appraisel because you had every reason to believe your mechanic was properly insured. Nada is the site dealers use to evaluate trade ins so it is historically very low. Your insurance company should have access to the kelly blue book for RV's. That is a far more accurate figure and can be brought to court to prove value. it is not available to the general public. Must be bought at a cost of 145 dollars a year. Linda S Here is a link to the correct procedures to take when your RV burns. Way too late for you to take advantage of. Your mechanics insurance company would have been aware of these procedures and is guilty of denying you the proper treatment of your loss. Print this too. Show the court how they delibrately tried to undermine your case. Shows malice http://www.rvappraisals.com/firevictims/rv.htm
  20. Certainly looks better than that old fashion wall paper look. Nice job Linda S
  21. I thought the locking torque converter in the A340E transmission eliminated much of that slippage waste and 15% sounds high even for my non-locking A43D transmission. Linda S
  22. 60 mph seems to be the sweet spot on these rigs. If your going 70 or more then 10.5 miles per gallon sounds about right Linda S
  23. Roy emailed me some really good pics of the Sunrader 18ft camper with the side sofa. Trouble is my email is messed up and I can't copy and paste to here. I asked him to post them on my minitruckcampers site. I think you belong to that Steve if not go here http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/minitruckcampers/ When he gets them on there I will post explaination and link to pics. Linda S Yes I see you just joined recently. I will get those pics up there as quick as I can
  24. Canadian tire is on the Island and sells Hankook. Ask them to order the RA08 tires for you. Still the prices I am seeing are through the roof.Might be cheaper to take the ferry to Seattle to buy them. Same Hankooks are available at Discount tire but you will have to order them from them too. Nope it looks like they are in stock in the Seattle area http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/tires/hankook/product/submitProductSize.do?r=WASINT%7Cpc%7C98161&pc=11011 if you can find somewhere else cheaper they will match prices but similar RA07 was almost 200 at Canadian tire and dollar here and there are not far apart Linda S
  25. Well occasionally your going to want to stop for the night at an RV park. You can relax, take a long shower and refill your water tank and dumb the waste tanks. All RV parks have drinking water spout you can attach your hose to. Water some places is nasty but water others places is heavenly fresh. Just try it Linda S
