  1. The older smooth sided Mini Cruiser's were made from compressed composite sheeting. From the pic you posted which does indeed look like a Mini Cruiser from the front striping and roof angle, I would say that composite sheeting was attached to a metal frame. RBR the manufacturer called it laminated construction http://www.ebay.com/itm/1979-Toyota-RBR-Mini-Cruiser-RV-Motorhome-Brochure-wr2396-7PIE37-/290882033364 Linda S The owner of the toyota-camper site on yahoo used to have a diesel Mini cruiser. He repaired his roof with plywood and sealed it with fiberglass.
  2. Yes your propane pressure is a separate issue but if the flame was really high in the fridge it could have prematurely burnt out the cooling unit. As for the fridge the only fix now is to replace the cooling unit. They are available on ebay with complete instructions and changing them out is not all that hard. Best if you can find room inside the camper to do it cause getting the whole fridge out of your camper is difficult. Get that regulator changed out right away. Could be dangerous Linda S

    Converter

Yes it's probably time to replace your converter. Mine is an 86 but it only hums when I put too much 12 volt load and it's trying to recharge my battery. Mostly if I forget and leave the fridge on 12 volt instead of turning it to 110 or when furnace is running. . What kind of RV do you have? Odyssey and Sunrader are 2 different brands. Linda S
  4. Yup just don't know what your thinking. You were having engine problems in Wyoming. Cost to check code is very little and even if you had to replace you O2 sensor that would still be only a couple of hundred bucks. Compared with losing the engine entirely? There is no other option. Stop and get it checked out immediately. Linda S
  5. There was a Mirage for sale a couple of years ago at an auction in Pa. Built on a Ford Ranger 4x4 chassis. A member of my group tried to contact them but the never answered but it was beautiful. Never seen another on like it Linda S
  6. Yes that's exactly what it means. Doesn't just happen when someone does a search. Google and Bing need to index the site to come up with answers so quickly when someone googles "toyota sunrader" or any other toyota motorhome based question. They know everything Linda S
  7. I got stopped in Florida for just having California plates. When the officer saw that it was just me and my 15 year old daughter you could see that he was embarrased and uncomfortable. He ended up telling me I was too close to the big rig in front of me and to stay farther back. I was at least 6 to 10 car lengths back. Any closer and the wind from the truck would bucket me back and forth so I always stayed back from them. No ticket and a have a great time in Florida but shouldn't have happened at all Linda S
  8. I am the second owner. Bought it from the first owners son who never used it and knew nothing about it. Have original dealer inspection forms and all orginal brochures and manuals. Linda S
  9. I have been under a 79 and it was set up just like mine. That's why I assumed yours had been changed. I do know that Stewart Gardiner would use whatever was on hand at the time to save money though. If he got a deal on some other size tanks I'm sure he would go for it. Linda S
  10. Wheels question. No you can't reuse those wheels. They have 5 lugs and a small center hole. You need the wheels for the full float axle, 6 lugs and big center hole for the hub to fit through. Linda S
  11. Get undermeath and look at the sink tank. All the way in the rear of the camper. Plumbing runs from sink to pump to water heater and there is a down drain there to the tank. Have to remove the bench seat on that side to axcess the pipes. If you stick your hand in the cabinet door down there though there should be a small pull ring. It opens the valve to drain the fresh water tank. Will drain onto ground. Issue with connecting the shower to the grey tank is because it would have to be pumped over the axle or be too near exhaust pipes. Toilet and shower are in front of rear axle. Linda S
  12. Holding tank for toilet and shower should be 8 gallons and yes it's a black/gray tank. Just black if you ask me cause the toilet goes into it. Tank in the rear should be larger, 12 gallons, and is for the sink. Take very short showers or you will be standing in stuff you don't really want to. stand in. Linda S Karin if your sink tank looks smaller someone changed it out at some time. Does the drain pipe go all the way across the rear or is the tank pretty close to it.
  13. Found some pics and description about a newmark converter charger on the Samba VW site.it's for a 15amp but probably wired the same. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=531275 Old model and haven't been made in a long time. Might be a good idea to just replace Linda S
  14. I read this on the other site. I camp most often at BLM land and have never had anyone ask me anything like that. I have a home and address on my license so I don't think I would be affected but still seems strange to me. Wide cutbacks in funding could have them scrambling for for funds from fines I guess. I have been told to leave the area I was in a few times but never fined. Always when I was on a road they considered 4x4 only so my fault completely. I love breaking the rules. Linda S
  15. If your Dolphin has been in the Santa Fe area long or anywhere along that high plateau it's possible that a previous owner disconnected the overdrive kill switch. Only way it could possibly still be working. But again even with an extra trannie cooler it can cause excessive wear on the transmission. 22re runs just fine in 3rd forever. I tried overdrive many times on a very flat road and I got worse mileage everytime. All that slipping back and forth trashes any savings you might expect to get from overdrive. Linda S
  16. Yes I heard the complement and I appreciate it. I just love motor vehicles and I love to be around them. Have no sons but 2 daughters who are better mechanics than me. Linda S
  17. Hey I only have 3. Randy in Salt lake just bought his 5th or 6th. Linda S
  18. Look here for answers. Karin made some and JD ordered some that didn't quite fit but he figured out how to make them fit http://toyotamotorhome.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=5696&hl=%2Bweep+%2Bhole+%2Bcovers#entry41167 Linda S
  19. The overdrive shuts off at anything over 4000 ft. There is no reason to use overdirve on the 4 banger. Will run just fine without it and will save your trannie. Only to be used on very flat roads with no headwind or down hill. No locking torque converter and the heat created by the slippage will toast your trannie big time. I have been driving mine for 10 years without ever turning it on and my trannie is still fine. Just checked elevation for the area and you are indeed above 4000 ft. Nothing wrong with the overdrive. Linda S
  20. No minimum speed posted is not legal even in Texas. http://law.onecle.com/texas/transportation/545.363.00.html Is the vehicle code number written on your ticket? If so post it. I would like to look it up. Linda S
  21. Well I'm honored that you would look at that nasty cool truck and think of me. Looks like something I would have if I can ever get rid of all these darn motorhomes. Her logo on the truck hits close to home for me. For a while my son-in-law and I were talking about opening a restaurant- auto shop combo business and calling it "Soup to Nuts". Figured people could eat while waiting for their car to get fixed. Linda S
  22. No Dolphin siding can not be replaced. No one makes mesa pattern siding in fiberglass anymore and the last of it was sold off long ago. Only solution would be to find a motorhome in a junk yard. There is aluminum mesa pattern but heavier and larger wave pattern Linda S
  23. I don't think the craigslist ad is a scam. It was for sale last year in the same place but he wants top dollar and I just don't think he got his price. The other ebay guy is bad news though. Linda S
  24. Some of these are on Toyota chassis but I have never seen one on a Ford ranger chassis. Might be a conversion but an appropriate one for sure. Linda S
  25. That unit is on craigslist and I'm sure just like his other listings Mysteriouscase does not have permission from the owner to list it. He lists on ebay and tries to get a bid high enough so he can buy the rig from the real owner and make a profit. Pretty shady guy.I have informed several of the real owners and someof them were pretty mad. He has been reported to Ebay dozens of times but they do nothing Linda S Think it's listed in lexington Ky but not sure
