  1. This site says most areas are still open during shut down http://camprrm.com/category/california-campgrounds/ Linda S
  2. You have a judges order for him to pay you 12 grand. In some places if you agree to a different amount after that you can invalidate the original order. Do not agree to anything other that what the judge ordered. He can borrow enough to pay you. He owns property. You are not the one who has to wait for payments Linda S Hope fully he has a good attorney who will advise him that an appeal can easily exceed the 12 grand he owes you
  3. Well this is what I replaced mine with and it's way cheaper than I paid. Not 60 bucks but I feel at least a 2 row is a necessity and I wasn't going to be happy with plastic parts. CFS has a rep for quality products. http://www.amazon.com/CSF-Toyota-4Runner-Pickup-Radiator/dp/compatibility-chart/B000CFTJL4 I flushed and flushed my radiator and was sure it had to be something else. Not till I got one of those temp guns and found out the whole middle was clogged and not cooling. Doesn't even get to halfway mark anymore Linda S
  4. OMG I am sooo happy for you. Justice prevails. Can't wait to see what your new toyhome looks like. Linda S Info for others, 12,000 is the maximum amount allowed in small claims in Pa.
  5. People are just so lazy nowadays. Insurance companies have access to all of this information. here's NADA guides RV site and the original price. I didn't add any extra options. Most in the list were standard anyway http://www.nadaguides.com/RVs/1990/National-RV/M-400-500-_/3007887/Values Linda S Price of insurance seems a little high. Make sure they did the figures for recreational vehicle which should be low miles.Might have automatically put in the standard 10,000 miles a year which would increase the ins greatly
  6. The Dolphin factory brochure states the optional generator was an Onan 3 KW generator. Closest equivalent today I think would be an Onan microlite 2800 Linda S
  7. Well be very careful. When you seal in wet wood it continues to rot. Can especially be a problem where that heavy air conditioner is. Push on every wall and under every cushion checking for softness. Look at the front overhead from the outside and look at the bottom for drooping in the middle. Linda S
  8. Have your alternator checked. Many auto patrs stores will do it for free. If it's never been changed it might not be charging properly. When it gets really bad both the brake light and the engine light will come on but I'm pretty sure mine was charging poorly long before that happened. Linda S
  9. Simplify, too long. Need to say this is what I paid. This is what the renovations cost and this is how many hours it took. Add total amount already paid to that mechanic. Show comparables for fully restored motorhome that you have. Then get to incident. The longer you talk the less the judge is going to like you. If he needs to know more he will ask. You should also add that you would never have had him do any work if you had been informed that he did not have the proper insurance. Guy was deliberately negligant Linda S
  10. Just not enough stability. Side to side sway and much too soft. The toyota motorhomes have special part numbers for the motorhomes so I assume stronger shocks. There are no motorhome shocks for the Nissan. I found a thread a long time ago that said our dual wheel chassis D21's came with Tokico shocks but they don't even make any shocks anymore for the D21. I have the specs for the shocks required. Compression and stroke is the same as the regular D21 but damping force is 25% higher than the regular shocks. Since it's hard to get actual specs on shocks you buy I haven't been able to find an exact fit. Linda S
  11. I think you should note that this is a Nissan. I had problems with the shocks on my Nissan. Replaced old Rancho 5000 for KYB gas adjust and they didn't work out at all. Went back and bought new Rancho's and it's better but not perfect. I wish I had just gone with Bilsteins in the first place. Never could figure out why the KYB's didn't work. They are great on my Toyota Linda S
  12. The owner of the toyota-campers site on yahoo had his shifter completely stuck for quite some time. turned out the brake shifter locking mechanism can get loose and not release the shifter. Don't know how he fixed it but he is on this site from time to time or you can ask here. His name is Turtle http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/toyota-campers/ Linda S
  13. Well it looks like you had a great trip. I couldn't find earlier posts about your axle. Did you know yours had issues. Did you fix your Dolphin or move on to a newer one. Just did some more looking and found your earlier posts. Yup that's what happens. Still sorry it had to happen to you but at least you were aware of it. Good you posted those pics so others can see that this is a real issue and that it can happen even to Rv's that have been on the road for years Linda S
  14. I found a source for MontanaChinook, Zach, a while ago but can't for the life of me find the thread now. He said it worked for his windows. His were so worn down the windows were rattleing. I'm sure he knows where he bought it Linda S
  15. Here ya go. More than enough power to climb any hill and the low price makes it worth the flight to go and pick it up. Of course it's now really a Chevy but looks like a Toyota http://enid.craigslist.org/rvs/4054859719.html Linda S
  16. I have been to Lake Sabrina in my camper. very slow but no real problems. You really need a v6 though. I know the other roads are tougher. It's the end of the summer and you could get lucky and find one for about 5 to 6 grand Linda S
  17. If your rig hadn't been used in a while the furnace might get better with use. Mine screamed like crazy when I bought it but quieted down after a while. I have never done a thing to it and now it just makes the fan noise. Well it might make a little noise beginning of the cold season but not for long. try leaving it plugged in at your house and letting it run a couple of nights. Worth a little propane to see if it will loosen up. Linda S
  18. Yes it is a very big deal. If you look at one older than 1986 you must be sure it has been upgraded. Where is this camping spot. Wonder if I have been there. Linda S
  19. I've gone accross a couple of low streams but with nice rock bottoms. Driving into mud like that is pretty nuts. I'm guessing cases of beer had something to do with it. washed down with Jack D Linda S
  20. Kraft mac and cheese cooks just as fast on your cook top as it does at home. Linda S
  21. I have replaced the outside rubber trim on several motorhomes including my neighbors larger Chevy based Dolphin and I have never seen the glass not sealed to the frame. Good thing too, it would have fallen on my head. Had to remove some of the windows from my Tiger and reseal them. That rubber doesn't really seal very much. Linda S
  22. I have heard of some people putting a crock pot in their sink while on the road. Your camping. Get to destination and pull out the barbeque. Make the stew at home and freeze it. I saw you have a portable cooler and you still have that fridge. Even not working mine kept food cold for 4 days with a block of ice in a dish pan in the bottom. So many options. I made pizza on a stone I heated in the camp fire once. My kids still talk about that. Best pizza ever Linda S
  23. I checked the winnebago brochure before I answered you. They were standard on that vehicle. Easy way to check and see if they were removed. Are there rubber spring stops directly above the axle mounted on the frame . If not it's because there were air bags there once. I'm betting if someone removed the bags they wouldn't have replaced the spring stops. Either way it's something you could have a kid in the neighborhood do. Not difficult at all. The compressors are very pricey though and hooking them up is much more complicated. I have a small 12 volt air compressor I use to put air in mine. carry it with me always cause I use the air bags for leveling sometimes. Linda S
  24. So you have no insert to go in the cut out. Do you have the rest of the top cushion or not. The cut out on mine is 3/4 inch plywood with foam over that and upholstered with the same fabric as the rest of the cushion. Not difficult to make and if you do have the rest of the top cushion you could either have upholstery made for both or just do it in a complementary color. Linda S
