  1. Fuel pump is inside the gas tank so that's not really an option. Here's some instructions on how to do the filter http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/maintenance/30_V6/fuel_filter/ Linda S
  2. Really would help to know what you need done. Lots of stuff is so simple and I could fix it in a heartbeat for nothing. No matter what it is you always get a better price when you go into the repair place with knowledge. That's what we are here for. Linda
  3. I would think your Norcold that runs on 12 volt would probably use less than any of these AC fridges. Is there a reason you just don't use propane. Linda S
  4. Best price I could find on a 410 recharge kit if yours is one of the ones that uses it http://www.horticulturesource.com/product_info.php?products_id=16356 Linda S
  5. Mechanical or RV stuff. One of the members of another group I belong to has always relied on this guy for mechanical work and he comes to your house. Sorry I don't have more info just the phone number. Gary - 408-648-3600 Guy who referred him is Larry in Sunnyvale and Gary is based in San Jose. Another friend was referred to this place by Marlin crawler. He hasn't had any work done yet but a referral by Marlin is top flight. They are very busy though and work can take some time. He does work on toyhomes though. http://www.yelp.com/biz/toy-connection-santa-clara For the RV stuff tell me what you need and some of it I can do. If you want a professional I totally understand and I would go no place but this. Prices in their parts department are cheaper than online and they are really nice guys http://alliedtrailersupply.com/ Linda S
  6. The older ones use R22 the same as a home refrigerator. There should metal tag somewhere on it stating what refrigerant was used. I don't know if you can even buy it. Also it must be leaking somewhere so that would have to be found and repaired. Linda S If it's a newer AC unit, 1996 or later, Carrier switched to something called puron R410A
  7. I have recommended it to a few. Maybe a short term fix but anything is better than nothing. Gives you time to save some money for replacement bags and still have the use of your RV. Linda S
  8. Well this is Tiki's thread and he does not have an A43D and he does have a locking torque converter. Oh and he's headed to Mexico, not in the north east. I don't have a V6 but it's possible the grille set up and space available are quite different from the 4 banger. While a bunch of miscellaneous info might be interesting to some the focus should be the original posters question. Linda S
  9. I checked and it does seem New York is very unreasonable about that inspection. If your out of state your supposed to ask for an extension that they need to send to you and a state trooper can still ticket you even with that. When your traveling where the blank are they supposed to send it. Even so I miss my home state and here in dry California those lovely pics of water look like paradise. Linda S
  10. My cabinets are all magnetic catches. The old round ones were pretty shot and didn't hold well any way. On my Toyota Sunrader the old round catches are still in place to fill the holes but catches removed. On my Nissan I replaced the old plastic with metal closet door pulls. Exact size of the holes in the doors. Then I drilled a hole in the middle of that and put in a standard single knob. Looks really nice. Got to do the other camper soon. You of course have brand new doors and don't have to worry about those big holes Linda S
  11. Well the only Maxxfan vent now on ebay with the options yours has is 190 bucks so you just got a crazy good deal Bob. Linda S
  12. Yes it is an Americana. Looks like it needs some cleaning up but these are very nice units. Gas mileage is still exaggerated but my friend Gail was surprised that the one she refurbished did better than her Winnebago. Maybe the smooth fiberglass sides makes for less wind resistance. Linda S
  13. There will be a rally on Vancouver Island soon. Post here if you are interested in going. I'm sure the other members would love to see your rare and unusual camper. rally link http://toyotamotorhome.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=6927#entry58168 Linda S
  14. The vent I posted a link to doesn't need a rain sensor. You can keep it open in a downpour as long as the wind isn't blowing the rain up. Linda S
  15. Very few Toyota based rigs will have a 15,000btu AC unit. Overkill. The amps for an AC unit will always be for 110 cause they don't run on DC. Linda S
  16. PM Mikesta and see if he still has his. Not cheap but extremely low miles and he did a bunch of work on it. http://toyotamotorhome.org/forums/index.php?showuser=499 Click to see his profile and send message. Of course I don't know where you are. Might be a problem if your on the East coast. Mike is in the Seattle area Linda S
  17. Sunraders leak vey much the same as most other campers. Every window and vent is prone to leaking. The big difference is those leaks just don't do structural damage. Still might need to replace paneling. Hopefully you can find one in good shape. The rear kitchen is actually quite common up through the 4 cylinder years. I haven't ever seen a v6 one though. Costly repairs can be almost anything. I would absolutely make sure all the appliances work. Huge cost to replace those. Tires must be newer. At least 3 members here have found very reasonably priced Sunraders on craigslist by just being diligent and searching every day. As far as other Toyota motorhomes with similar construction the only one I can think of is a Nova Star made by new Horizon Linda S
  18. You mean removing the coach ac unit. Cab is the one inside the engine compartment. I removed mine from my Sunrader almost as soon as I got it. Hated to see that big box on top of my otherwise sleek little camper. I replaced mine with this http://www.adventurerv.net/maxx-fan-maxxair-volt-ventilation-system-white-camper-p-1023.html?utm_campaign=partsfeed_ppc&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=Froogle&gclid=COiMya6Htr4CFXTl7AodFikAfw Not cheap but no need for an extra shield on top to protect from rain and when this is closed it's not visible at all. Blows lots of air in or out. Had it almost 10 years and still works perfect. Your current AC unscrews from the inside and then you have to carefully pry it off the roof section. Cap off the wires. You can't use them for your vent fan. I powered my vent fan with wires from the nearest inside light fixture on the ceiling. Linda S
  19. By 1980 they had abandoned the cool fiberglass one and gone to conventional construction. The bigger ones had a tandem axle. Linda S
  20. Very nice set up. I have the same hitch carrier and a motor mount installed on the bumper for my outboard. Made the motor mount out of an old bike rack. Zodiac fits nicely in the carrier. Can only post a link. Yahoo won't let me copy my own pics anymore and I don't have the pic in this computer. https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/minitruckcampers/photos/albums/112754304/lightbox/535275173 Linda S
  21. My furnace screamed at me when I first got my Sunrader. That's of course only when the fan could get up to speed so it would even light. I never did a single thing to it but after a while it got much quieter and lighted every time. Just had never been used. My camper came from southern Cal and the only place the owners ever took it was Quartzite, AZ. Just took a while to loosen up Linda S
  22. If it wasn't for whiskey I wouldn't even be a coffee drinker. Never liked it until I worked in a bar where the bartender made the most amazing Irish coffee. Linda S
  23. I have a new unit on my Toyota Sunrader and an old original one on my Nissan Sunrader. I can detect no difference in how they run or sound. Linda S
  24. Charge and brake almost always means alternator is not charging properly. New alternators can be bad. Get it back to where you bought it and have them test it. Sorry but you waited too long and I am leaving town tomorrow. Will be back next Tuesday night and you can call me then if you want me to check anything else out. Cheap multimeter will tell you whats charging and whats not. Harbor freight 6980 Chestnut St, Gilroy, CA 95020 (408) 847-1023 http://www.harborfreight.com/7-function-multimeter-98025.html Linda S
