  1. Very strange. The tow rating for the V6 is the same as the 22re. Seems odd doesn't it. Of course we need to remember some of these rigs weigh lots more than the GVWR to begin with. That definitely cuts down on the tow weight. Also Toyota specifies that it have a frame mounted tow hitch. Those extensions in the rear of our rigs are not strong enough to handle the extra weight. Oh and that tow rating is for a manual transmission. Auto is less but I don't know how much. According to an owner on Pirate who actually has a manual. Most of the problems I've heard about towing were not getting it going but stopping. trailer brakes are a must Linda S
  2. I wouldn't be surprised if the wood on the ceiling is already gone Linda S
  3. Try car-part.com. I see a few gas tanks that might not be too far from you. Linda S
  4. According to Toyota, the part number you listed covers from August 1985 to August 1987 build dates for the wt dual wheel chassis. August 1987 to August 1988 is a different part number, 89661-35140. Toyota does not have a separate California emissions ECU listed for this vehicle. I would post the link but my computer won't let me do that on this site anymore. Toyota has the part listed but they are all discontinued, just part numbers available. Seems very specific. All other 22re trucks from the same time period use different part numbers. Information found at toyotapartszone.com Linda S
  5. It's been for sale for a very long time. Been on ebay a couple of times with no bids. Even if you get the price down if you can't do the repair work yourself the total cost can go way over worth Linda S Oh overhead cabinets completely gone on passenger side. Lots of interior repair means there was pretty bad damage inside at one time.
  6. I see lots to do but nothing too major. It's all a matter of how much you can do yourself and the selling price. Hiring a professional can easily add thousands to your purchase price. Rv places near me charge 100 bucks an hour. Ac has been removed from roof and funky patch job in it's place. Also looks like the plumbing vents have been closed up. Not good. Need to make sure the pipes are still in place. I see upgraded leaf springs and what looks like not too bad rust except for that one area. How old are the tires? old ones need to be replaced even though they still have good tread. Picture #1 worries me the most. Looks like frame has cracked and been welded together. Extra metal should have been added to those welds to support it. Can't really tell from just looking at pics though. Linda S If it's the one in Denver for 7 grand , way too much.
  7. This is a rear bath since it drains into the grey tank but he did find a trap for the shower. Well I still can't post a link but search" 89 Sunrader shower drain problem" on this site and you will find it. Can't imagine them putting a trap to the grey tank but not to the black on the middle bath models. Page 11 of the Sunrader manual on this site says for winter storage to fill the P traps for the sink and the shower with rv antifreeze. Linda S
  8. Mine is the same year as Debbit's and my shower drain doesn't smell at all. If there was no trap it would stink like holy hell all the time. Linda S
  9. Well I guess Firefox is the only way. I really don't want all the tracking that Chrome does. Funny though I can still copy and paste on the yahoo groups. Only here is zilch. I wonder if it's a security issue. 8.1 is supposed to have higher security. Damn I hate change Linda S
  10. References to my site usually means the yahoo group minitruckcampers which I currently own. Still not founded by me. Just inherited from someone who lost interest. Abandoned group sites with no one to maintain them become horrible pits for porn and scammers. I hate to see all the good information and photos lost to people who might need them so I try to step in and keep it alive. Linda S
  11. This is totally not my website. Started by Greg and still run by him. I just moderate, whatever that means. I get lots of PM's that all go to my email too. I still need to come back here to respond to them. I guess that some people don't get them forwarded to there explains why some of my questions go unanswered. Exchanging of personal info like phone numbers and addresses is always better done privately and personal emails posted can sometimes be a problem too. I recently got an email from a complete stranger who is not even a member here. I posted my email years ago for someone and forgot about it. Non members can read this site, just not post. He turned out to be a nice guy but he could have easily been a weird stalker guy. You guys are vulnerable to weirdo's too. PM messages on this board are closed and no one gets your email unless you want them too, privately. Linda S
  12. Ace Hardware carries the Unique plumbing stuff called Super digest it. I buy that too and I think it's almost the same stuff. Give it sometime to let the bacteria colonize your tank. I do use bleach to rinse my fresh water tank and that goes through the grey tank but I never rinse the black tank with bleach. Need to keep the bacteria alive and digesting. I am sensitive to smells too and have allergies. I could never use the overly fragranced waste tank stuff Linda
  13. Help. My computer just upgraded to 8.1 without my permission. Just turned it on a couple of days ago and it went to restart mode and installed 8.1. It seems to work OK except I can't copy and paste anything to this site. No posting links to anything. Got any ideas how to fix this? Linda S
  14. You will still have a grey tank. You wash dishes and food goes into it and rots. It can also smell from the roof vents and sometimes from a bad seal between the pipes and the tank. I made the mistake of trying to rinse mine out at home when I had forgotten to empty it for a long time. I figured it was OK to drain onto the ground cause it was just grey water. OMG my neighbors were pissed. Reeked big time. I use this in my toilet. Bacteria brakes down the poop and really doesn't smell at all. Darn I can't post a link anymore It's called Unique Digest it holding tank treatment. Yes I now put it in the grey tank too There are also roof vents that pull the smells away when driving or any wind search Camco cyclone plumbing vent to see what I mean. Linda S
  15. When someone sends me a message here I get an email sent to my personal email. I thought everyone did. Linda S
  16. I asked about the weight and tire set up cause these would probably work. At 1400 lbs load they are probably plenty for your little rig and they are stud able and best part they are super cheap. Darn my computer upgraded and I can't copy and paste anymore. Search Firestone Winterforce tires at Tire rack. Size 195/75/14. 55 bucks Linda S
  17. 164 plus 20 dollars shipping on Amazon so 159, free shipping is still a savings. I see lots of places still selling them for well over 200 Linda S
  18. Unfortunately they are now closed until further notice. They are having a internal tribe battle between factions that ended up with an armed conflict inside the casino. Even if they open again I will have to seriously think about ever going there again. This was my favorite casino and I went about 4 times a year. Loved it and had many employees I considered friends. So sad for them and their families getting caught in this mess. Spent my birthday there for the last 8 years. This year I'm going to Reno. Linda S
  19. Found a neat one. Galavan coach put on an 89 truck in Alaska. Ad,s only a month old http://cars.yakaz.com/toyota-camper#lo=4&docid=0008e4fko0b6rv5e Linda S
  20. Maybe it's really a Keystone. I have seen several of those. DMV abbreviations sometimes end up with the owner calling the rig a different name. Title on my Sunrader says Sunra and I have seen a couple advertised as that Linda S
  21. Greg let me know that he was able to duplicate the redirect results and he is working on it. Linda S
  22. Yes the old crap is still available. The kits to install a roof plumbing vent are actually putty tape. Ask me how I know. Rain on face. does that give you a hint? I cheaped out and bought the little kit instead of the large butyl tape roll and paid for it. My son in law was also sold stuff that the rv place claimed was butyl tape and wasn't. I had to go and get the good stuff and redo a lot of the work he did. Linda S
  23. The best test I know of is putty tape if you pinch it you can separate it. Butyl tape just keeps stringing along like pizza cheese. need to cut it with a hard blade like a putty knife. Camping World carries really good butyl tape that they still call putty tape. pain in the butt figuring this out but both of the ones you posted look like the right thing. Linda S
  24. Fred I also run another Yahoo group called minitruckcampers. We post a lot of motorhomes that are for sale and we really like the unusual ones. I checked and we posted at least 5 Galavan's in the last 3 or 4 years. I'm afraid none of the purchasers have joined my group but at least you know they are out there. Aaron is a member of my group and he used to own one. That's about as close as it gets to a real owner. Linda S
