  1. Of course this might not apply to you but it seems that most people who tear the whole thing apart never end up putting them back together. Fix the bed so you can use it and go have some fun. Take on one manageable project at a time and you have a better chance of not hating that you ever bought it Linda S
  2. Battery light and brake light on at the same time in a Toyota means your alternator is bad. Doesn't matter if it's been replaced or not. Lots of replacement alternators aren't good. Linda S
  3. The isolater is the rusty round thing attached to your washer bin. Sunrader use 4 pole isolaters so they have a separate ground. Don't really think it's the cause of your not starting. Linda S
  4. Then your going to need a driver too so you can stay in the back and consume stuff. Fridge looks great. Just remember to fill it. Even bottles of water. Empty space makes it harder to stay cool Linda S
  5. So you do know that only 12 volt fixtures will work when not plugged in. Have you had your battery tested. Might be completely dead. Have you changed all your fuses. They can be bad even when they look OK. Linda S
  6. well that second comparison has to be from the same year vehicles so the would have both had the better roof line and air shocks. Since the earlier test was on the first model made I'm thinking human error might have had something to do with it. Someone who's not used to a heavy vehicle with such a small engine might have a heavy foot trying to get it to go. By 78 they had driven more of them and knew what to expect Linda S
  7. Hmm. In 1976 if that's the year Datsun they tested, Dolphin had only one micro mini model and they didn't give it a number. On a Toyota chassis the 76 weighed 3420 with a full tank of gas. By 1978 as you can see the weight had gone up 500lbs. Datsun and Toyota chassis weighed virtually the same so weights should be same too. Does make it kind of hard to explain. Does mention a more aerodynamic roof line and the 78's had air shocks. Maybe less bounce better mileage? Linda S
  8. Yes goes through the pages nicely. Before it was almost impossible to do any extensive searches. Thanks Linda S
  9. You deserve an award for getting that thing in your rig. Looking forward to seeing it in place Linda S
  10. Never heard of that one. Good to know Linda S
  11. I am so amazed that some people blindly follow google directions. Recently jumped out of my car at a stop light to catch some people who were following google instead of the directions I gave them. Google was taking them back to the freeway at rush hour instead of the side street that would take them to their destination in 2 miles. 5 minute drive that would have taken them 35 minutes the Google way. I like maps Linda S
  12. His are the same 15 inch fake duallies that are on 4x4 Sunraders here. 215/75/15's fit and there are a few at tires in that size. Of course in New Zealand there might be an even wider selection Linda S
  13. You can be sure any motorhome made by Winnebago had many more made than 2. I've seen dozens of these. Not tons of them but that's because it was the economy model with cheaper finishes. Toyota based motorhomes were already reasonable compared to the larger ones so most people opted for the nicer models. Linda S
  14. As long as your federal emissions sticker is still intact it doesn't need California emissions. It is grandfathered in because of the age Linda S
  15. Yup compressor based units. Here's the description from Walmart. You can make ice cubes for parties or hot summer days within a few minutes with the Igloo Ice 102 Portable Ice Maker. Its compact and contemporary design makes it easy to transport and stylish to display. With 2.0 lbs capacity of ice cube basket, this Igloo ice maker saves space in your freezer for other food. It features a 3.1L capacity water reservoir that can make up to 26lbs of ice in 24 hours. You need not drain the melted ice as it drains back to the reservoir. This countertop ice machine features the compressor cooling system and operates at low noise. The modern design and adjustable cube size add to the unique functionality of this Countertop Ice Machine Linda S
  16. I too enjoy seeing these Sunraders from across the ocean. Have to wonder how many were made. It's a beautiful rig. Thank you for sharing it with us. Fred in the world of fully self contained overland vehicles 60 grand is pocket change. A similarly equipped Earth Roamer or Tiger would cost 150 grand and up. My friend Dave's Sunrader was in an accident and the insurance appraiser appraised his at something like 45 grand. Linda S
  17. The law here has no mention of wattage, only speed. I see lots of 1000 watt bikes that still have a top speed of 20mph. Totally legal here and if yours does go faster how are they gonna know if they don't catch you on radar or something. Even the faster ones come in at 30mph. No way to differentiate between 28 mph or 30 to the human eye and even radar could be easily contested. 28 is legal just need to wear a helmet and be over 16 http://www.bicycleretailer.com/north-america/2015/10/08/california-governor-signs-law-modernizing-e-bike-regulations#.VxewrDbmpjo Linda S
  18. E-bikes are not banned or restricted in any way in California that I know of. I have one friend who uses one as his only transportation. No license plate or personal license required. This includes one with no pedals as long as 20mph is the top speed. Ones with a top speed of 28mph require a helmet and minimum age of 16 Linda S
  19. Hmm stuff I didn't know about them. Definitely changes my opinion. Surprised about the weight too. I would have thought they were lighter. Linda S
  20. Been one of my favorites for a long time. Ford 4x4 frame converted to front wheel drive to make the floor lower. I've always wondered if you did a body lift if it could be converted back to a 4x4. How cool would that be Linda
  21. I sent a message to Greg. Maybe it's something he can fix Linda
  22. I replied to her privately after no one else stepped in. The best place to find parts for older RV appliances is PPL RV parts in Texas. They have an astounding selection of parts for stuff that hasn't been made in years. Linda S http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/rv_parts_rv_accessories.htm
  23. Nice clean look with those diffusers but I like the saw too Linda S
  24. My ceiling fan is attached to the light over my dinette. The hole up there only had 110 wiring for an AC unit. You have to take the light fixture off to connect it but yes it will work. The light was reattached and that still works too. Linda S
