  1. How long is your old one. Looking at Rock Auto there is no length shown for the Centric but the Dorman is 17.75 inches. Looks longer in the pics but if that still isn't long enough we might be able to find a suitable one just by length Linda S
  2. I have an 18 ft Sunrader and I use a hitch carrier often. Use it mostly for my Zodiac and outboard. Boat and motor weigh a little over 100 lbs plus carrier weight and whatever else I can fit on it maybe come to 150 or 175. No problems here. Extension rails on the shorty Sunraders aren't as long as most of the rigs and Sunrader made them very strong. I like the aluminum carrier from Harbor Freight. Cheap lightweight and strong Linda S
  3. He is selling them on Ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/TOYOTA-SUNRADER-RV-CAMPER-FRONT-OR-REAR-DECAL-REPRODUCTION-DECALS-PAIR-/401072829637?hash=item5d61cdb4c5:g:VUEAAOSwzgRWw4XX&vxp=mtr Linda S
  4. I have never heard such problems. The problems with mine are that it was owned by a tweaker nut case. He went to jail and his father sold it to me. Hey your current camper is on a Toyota truck. The Astro has a much higher load capability and the campers are very small. 16 feet or so. This is on Bay area craigslist now. You should at least go take a look and drive it since it's so close Linda S https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/rvs/5742699199.html
  5. I didn't buy it. Came that way. Well there are still the salvage yards. Shiny new on top and used underneath Linda S Yes I searched. the hood liner is not available new anywhere that I can find.
  6. Hood, fenders bumper and valance can all be bought on ebay. They tend to be lighter weight than original but look the same. My hood is after market. If you want original pretty much any salvage yard should have older Toyota trucks on the lot or you could try this place. They specialize in mini trucks like their name implies http://www.calminitruck.com/ Linda S
  7. Just to clear this up there is no reason you need to be driving your rig to show that the Honda runs the AC unit. Just take a video while parked with it working to shut them up. Linda S
  8. Mine needs front end work and lots of interior work. That said after it sitting for a couple of years It started right up and I drove it 330 miles to my new home. Gets just as good mileage as my Toyota motorhome and runs like my Ford Explorer as far as power and comfort. That drive was the first time I realized how wonderful that huge front window is. 101 from the bay area to Eureka is a beautiful drive and the big front van window gives a panoramic view. Yes it's an Astro. 1993 and still has less than 100,000 miles on it. Ya want it? Trust me lots of work to be done. Mine is not a pop top. It is the XL model with a permanent high roof and a bed up there in the overhead Linda S
  9. Most Sunraders have the same sized windows. They got rid of the larger ones in 1981 I think. Yes all the others are the same. Nissan too Linda S
  10. In this day and age of self-interest, Altruism is a personality disorder. Linda S
  11. A personality disorder. I am compelled to help people. Linda S
  12. I have 3 motorhomes. My Toyota Sunrader is my home for 1 week a month when I return to the Bay area to work. The others are a Nissan Sunrader V6 and a Tiger Provan both in various stages of restoration. Now that I am semi retired I expect to have the time to finish those projects and maybe look for the next one. I'm thinking seriously about a Sunrader coach on an F250 diesel chassis and there is also a Creger sitting in a back yard near my new home I'm going to have to talk them out of. I'm not going anywhere. Linda S
  13. I've been looking and I can find lots of other people with the same problem online but no real answer. Can you give me the model number? Maybe I can track something down. Is this on all power sources? Does the gasket seal nicely. Little sucking when you open the door a a woosh when you push it closed tight. Will the freezer freeze a bottle of water or is it just cold. Linda S
  14. OK I need the blah blah crap to stop. Same people arguing about the same stuff. To top it off one of you who is part of the blah blah filed 2 reports because they didn't like someone else's comment. Just because Derek and I are moderators doesn't mean we want to do anything and taking care of reported posts takes my time. We have a message system that you can use to insult them directly all you want and the rest of us don't need to hear about it. Yes you can post your opinion of course but none of us want to hear you go on about it endlessly. I can change all your names to Stamar Linda S
  15. I recently looked at another Sunrader older than yours and the fridge had a plug. maybe it was an east coast thing. My friend used to have an old 82 Coachman Caper and his fridge has a plug too so it's not just a new thing Linda S
  16. Well Like I said I love the look of the original windows and the guy I got the window for Jack found a guy up in Sac who is going to try making them. They will be substantially less than Advantage RV. Around 350 instead of the 450 or more they are charging now. My original windows don't leak at all on my 86. Linda S
  17. Every RV I've ever had the 110 hook up for the fridge was a plug, plugged into a regular outlet in the bottom outside fridge compartment. No need for splicing. You mean yours is hardwired in? See plug on left
  18. My 86 doesn't have that extra cabinet above the fridge but I know exactly what yours looks like. Bet it fits perfect. Looking at the outside of units with 2510 fridges the vents appear to be the same. Here's some info on how your vents need to be for the models. Just need to make sure you have enough venting and space between upper and lower vents http://bryantrv.com/docs2/docs/dometicventing.pdf Linda S
  19. besides lots of wiring the are only 4 main bolts on the main coach ands a bunch of screws in the overhead to the cab. I would remove holding tanks and all appliances to relieve pressure on the floor so it doesn't collapse. The floor is the weak link. Might be good to add some support inside before the coach is removed, Linda S
  20. No I just don't believe some of the stories you tell. You will say anything to contradict me or try to start an argument and I'm about done with you. I spent time searching for that part, which is available, thinking it would be a bit of a peace offering so we could at least co-exist but you turned it into a worse argument. Funny most people would have just said thank you. Linda S moderator
  21. Am I missing something? These fridges run just fine out of the camper and just plugged in. I understand the part about the tubes needing to be hot or at least warm before it's turned over but both of mine that I had cooling units replaced were tested first from 110 before reinstalling. Why put it all back together if something is still not right. 12 volt is only available on 3 way. All of them work on 110 that I know of. I can't see how hot from 110 would be any different than hot from propane Linda S
  22. I know every single thing you did to your Sunrader. Didn't you know your my Guru. I ran into you at Safeway gas station in Aptos once and told everyone I know I met the Sunrader guy. You and Nolan aka Quadlight. Guys to look up to Linda
  23. Toyota part number for 4 clylinder dual wheel shoes http://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/toyota~shoe~kit~rear~brake~04495-35100.html?Make=Toyota&Model=Pickup&Year=1987&Submodel=&Filter=(d=USA;1=22REC;3=T1;7=RCB;9=HVY;10=WT;12=EFI;13=IV)&Location=rear-drum-brake-wheel-cylinder-backing-plate,,04495 Part number for V6 dual wheel chassis http://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/toyota~shoe~kit~rear~brake~04495-35141.html?Make=Toyota&Model=Pickup&Year=1990&Submodel=2+Wheel+Drive&Filter=(d=USA;1=3VZE;4=STD;7=RCB;8=WT;9=HLF;11=EFI;13=IV6;14=T1)&Location=rear-drum-brake-wheel-cylinder-backing-plate,,04495 This doesn't mean they are necessarily different. Could just mean they changed the part number which Toyota loves to do. I'd be willing to bet they are exactly the same Linda S Thank you Totem. I do try and appreciated it very much when it's acknowledged
  24. There is really nothing you can do. Once the wind comes up you will be covered in dust. Have fun and clean it up later. Everyone will be covered n dust so you won't be the only one Linda S
  25. Yeah I met Steve and got to see his camper in person. Very cool but way too many coach modifications for me. The Ford only requires that the camper be lifted slightly so the overhead clears the cab and removing the rear fender flares for the much bigger wheels. Where in Oregon. I'm less than 2 hours from the boarder if you plan on being near the coast. Brookings and Gold Beach are 2 of my favorite towns. I would be there except for the grandkids in Eureka. Linda S
