1991 OEM generator for sale

Might be a good deal for someone who wants an OEM Kohler generator pulled from a 1991 Toyota. Just keep in mind that the company that made the motor for Kohler went bankrupt years ago and many parts are no longer available.

Yes extremely loud. I never used mine and now it won't start. I could care less. Just waiting for my son to have time to remove it and I will make the space work for a little portable which I will remove and set on the ground to use. Just found out the Yamaha 2000 weighs 3 lbs less than the Honda 2000. For this old lady every lb counts

Its only 1000w. If MSD makes it, its usually good stuff. IF MSD just rebadges it, then its a cr*p shoot as to quality.

Also bear in mind that usually the first comment about the OEM Kohler generators is that they are VERY LOUD!! Probably one reason that they all seem to have very low hours on them!! And probably louder than a Honda! :)

It's a flathead lawnmower engine made by Tecumseh,  I don't think there is any way to make them quiet. I am surprised that Kohler - at least at that time period - would use such a crap engine.  Now adays nothing would surprise me when it comes to the "new" Kohler. If you have ever seen an Ariens or Snapper 5-6 horse rider mower - it is likely the same engine.

The Yamaha is rated to make less noise too - at low load - as compared to the Honda. Yamaha is 51.5 dBA at 1/4 load and Honda is 53 dBA at 1/4 load. That is a pretty big difference if true.  I suppose the Yamaha is able to do it because it has a smaller engine then the Honda.

Same image is used for a "Morpower DIG02010": http://www.toxicbowfishing.com/product-p/dig02010.htm

Something wrong with the Morepower 2000 ads. One shows a 80 cc engine and another shows a 125 cc engine.  That is a big difference - yet both show the same sound rating and weight.  Looks very much like the ETQ generator I have.  http://www.toxicbowfishing.com/product-p/dig02010.htm shows 125 ccs and this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Digital-Inverter-Generator-2000-Watt-Inverter-Generator-Very-Quiet-Lightweight-/231111102954 shows an 80 cc engine.  Both same part # too.

Their website also shows 125cc. :)
