Bath Fan - Powered By B & S

This is a fairly minor item in my ongoing list of 91 Warrior repairs, but I thought I'd run it up the flagpole in case anyone's got a quick fix: The 12V vent fan in our bathroom is very loud and could nearly be mistaken for a lawnmower. Like most people, I appreciate having some tasteful background noise in that vicinity, but this is excessive. What's the likely cause ?

Tips/tricks/links appreciated.

I replaced the one on mine with a large computer fan.

Interesting, you did make sure its a 12 volt fan right? Most of the fans I have saved from older towers are anywhere from 6 to 9 volts. Not sure what the extra voltage would do or if its a hazard
