natale_p
Hello. I'm wondering if someone has information on motorhome body construction. I recollect that the Winnebago line was built with tubular aluminum. Can anyone elaborate on this and also on Dolphin and Sunland bodies? Tks, Paul
WME
Dolphin's are wood framed, I THINK Winne's are also wood. MY 86 Escaper has aluminum framing, Escaper's pre 86 are debated, seems to come both ways
Dolphinite no longer here
I can verify that the '85 Dolphin I have is framed with wood since I've re-built quite a lot of the walls and cabover bed area. Some of the Toyota RVs are framed with metal, but I don't know the brand names. John
Gary_M
For Toyota Gulf Stream Conquest owners... - Welded tubular aluminium cage construction - Tubular aluminium floor - Fully-laminated floor with metal underbelly - Steel chasis substructure. Oldiesel
Our 93 Winnebago Itasca has aluminum framing in the body in the few places where i have had to drill. Our previous 86 RBM Mini-Cruiser also had aluminum in the walls but not so in the roof where it was rotten 1x3 wood and rusted thru 3/4x3/4 square steel tube, both have aluminum skin under the floor which keeps any water that gets in from getting out!
