TPW
Hi, My '76 Chinook pop-top does not have a heater and I am contemplating putting one in. It has a stove and refrigerator that run on propane and so I was thinking I could tap into the line somewhere and hook one up. I am looking around for a used one, and any advice on what to look for and what to avoid would be appreciated... along with suggestions for how one might go about putting one in. I would also be interested in suggestions for alternatives to a propane furnace. Thanks.
acudoc
Look for a wave 3 heater. No electric need. Just tee off your gas line. Henry
WME
Check with an RV salvage yard and see if you can find a GOOD used gravity furnace. They run on convection and do not use a fan. They still have a sealed combustion chamber so no problems with CO. They were most likely OEM on your Nookie
Derek up North
When the time comes to replace, I'll be seriously considering a Wave 3 or Wave 6. Small, light and fuel efficient. And with the money saved, I'll buy a CO/Propane detector.
