htioki
Hello, I am looking for recommendations on the proper coating to protect the fiberglass part of the roof, as the fiberglass strands are showing. As this is the front part of the roof that wraps around to front of the coach, I'd like the color of the coating to match the off-white exterior color of the coach. Not sure if elastomeric roof coating is the right application for fiberglass and they don't seem to be available in the off-white color. Thanks in advance! WME
This is a fiberglass rated coating. https://dicorproducts.com/product/fiberglass-rv-roof-coating/ A bright white reflects more heat than off white. In some climates this is very important. This product is available in tan so you could mix a bit to get off white. Use the tan as the first coat then cover with your off white mix Edited October 5, 2020 by WME
linda s
Elastomeric is not the right thing for fiberglass. Look up fiberglass gel coat repair. There are lots of kits and some with blending instructions to help color match Linda S
htioki
Thank you both. My research on gelcoat also found marine coating for fiberglass boats. Any thoughts on those?
linda s
Fiberglass boats are made the same as a Sunrader. Gel coat, glass mat and epoxy all in a mold. No difference so sure that would be fine. Linda S
