My Toyota Motorhome

  1. Hello, Well, I just bought a 1990 Odyssey Star Lite, V-6. While researching I came across this site and found a couple of discussions on this particular Odyssey model, but they were dated 2018ish. I am wondering if anybody out there in the Odyssey universe has any new info on these. The Googles is surprisingly barren of info. Cheers!
  2. Hi Folks I just bought a 21' 1990 Dolphin V6 last night and am trying to find an operation manual for the cabin. The prior owner was selling it for their elder parents and knew nothing about it. Seeking info on heater, refrigerator, auxiliary battery and 12v system, water system and tanks and other basic operation procedures. My apologies if this is a common post but I've spent some time trying to dig it up on line and am striking out. Thank you for your help and looking forward in contributing to this forum in the near future.
  3. Well, I seem to have just purchased a rather rare 84 Sprint for dirt cheap. Luckily the engine runs rather well with 84k original miles and it seems to have the upgraded 6 lug rear axle. The rest...is a total shitshow. The sink/stove/fridge are all gone, save for the range hood, no dinette, I guess the "couch bed" is still there, toilet and shower are there, but most likely non-functional, etc. I have not really been able to find any pics of how the interior of this model was set up, save for this: http://www.toyotarvforsale.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/1984_golden-co-kitchen.jpg . I was intending on completely gutting the interior, but I'm having trouble finding info on how this particular model was constructed. Before I dig in I was hoping someone else may have some feedback. I don't want to start remove a bunch of stuff that supports the shell. It does appears to have some framing glassed into the roof. The wheel wells are just plywood now, but I can't image that was always the case...I'll let some pictures do the rest of the talking. Thanks in advance!
  4. Hi all! I'm new here and i just bought recently this beautiful camper. I'm located in Québec, Canada. I'm looking any stuff about that specific camper like owner manual, repair handbook, electric diagram etc... I would be happy if i could find any documentation on this camper. Thanks a lot!
  5. Hello, I recently bought a 1991 Seabreeze Model 400 toyota mini motor home. It has the 3.0L V6, and it ofcourse came with no manuals. Does anyone have or know where i can get my hands on a manual or and online version i can print etc.... any help would be appreciated. Thank you
  6. Let's start a library collection! Seems that one of the more common questions on here is "Where do I find XYZ manual?" First off there is no "factory Service manual" for an Ithica, Dolphin, Mini Cruiser, Warrior, etc, etc. They are all built on a Toyota chassis (mostly if not all on the Toyota 1-ton chassis). So if you need a manual on doing a tune up, brakes, an engine swap, or any other "Toyota mechanical info" then you are simply looking for the Toyota FSM. These can be found on eBay, but usually not cheaply. Also don't look for the year of your RV, but for the year of the chassis it is built on. My 1986 Mini Cruiser for instance is built on a 1985 Toyota Pickup chassis. A year difference is fairly common. I haven't gotten enough FSM manuals into my hands to verify this next detail, but Toyota seems to have released different manuals for every year instead of a couple across the board like basically every other publisher has done. So if you buy a 1991 FSM, it might not cover a 1985. For some things it won't matter. But if you are buying a manual, get the closest to what you actually have. Things like electrical diagrams will be different. Call your local car parts store! The Chilton or Haynes manual you need just might be sitting on the shelf! These are still in print for our trucks. These are not as thorough as the FSM, but combined with Google and Youtube, they will help you get the job done. Below is the 1985 FSM in digital format. Here is also a link to it on my Google Drive where it can be opened without downloading it. It is a pretty big PDF file at 40+MB! 535663319_1985ToyotaRepairManual.pdf
  7. Hi, Apologies if this isn't the correct place to list this. I've had a warrior, itasca and enterprise motorhomes and was a member on one of the groups many years ago. I have a 1991 vol 1 & 2 toyota truck dealers repair manual to sell. Someone offer me a fair price and we can work it out. my pics are hanging out in cyberspace apparently, as soon as they find their way home I can post them. thanks, john, 713.206.6469
  8. While Hunting for a unicorn (large Sunrader, rear dinette), I came across a Nova Star, made by New Horizon(?). Does anyone have any information on these? Thanks!
  9. Hey folks! I am the very proud new owner of this 1986 New Horizons Nova Star. I am going to do a bit of work to it so I thought I'd start a thread here to ask questions and update progress. This is my first RV and I just know how knowledgeable these online communities are so I am here to learn. Here are some pics: Build goals: I want to preserve the original character of this rare model as much as possible while recapturing some interior space with more modern appliances. I would like to pretty up the exterior enough to avoid some attention being parked on campus. As it stands everything works in the RV so I will just live in it for a bit to inform what I want to do, but I think these two things would make it a lot more livable in the short term: Remove the rear AC: I will very rarely be plugged in and I would much rather have the headroom over the kitchen and roof space for solar. Composting toilet: again, I'm not planning on campgrounds or RV parks so a more off grid set up would be ideal. Bonus points for weight reduction and environmental benefits. With school and other projects I don't have much time to work on it right now, and I am backpacking for 3.5 months over the summer, so even these two tasks might be more than I can do anytime soon. Updates will probably be slow, but I wanted to establish a connection here to make use of this great resource. It's great to be here and thanks in advance for the help.
  10. How common was the above drive train in Sunraders? Nissan or Toyota? In hindsight sight, a manual transmission would have been a bonus for both the 4 cylinder and the 6 cylinders motors.
  11. Well I'm almost with 86 New World project after conquering putting a 92 22re in a 86 motorhome and having to have my mechanic figure out how to wire up the ecu. Painted all except the cab in raptor liner 3 different colors. Last big thing I had to do was put the 4 speed transmission in it that I had bought used. Got it hooked up, took it on a test drive and it won't shift into 3rd or 4th gear. Shifts smooth into 1st 2nd and Reverse but when shift to 3rd there is no grinding no noise it's just nothing. Release the clutch after I thought it was in 3rd and it feels like neutral, same with 4th. I have a new shifter socket and seat ordered from marlin crawler. I have flushed and bleed the clutch with new fluid also. And filled with the correct level of gear oil. Anyone have any ideas.
  12. This PDF was scanned from a very good condition original 1992 Toyota Dolphin V6 manual. It includes schematics for several systems. Scanned at 300DPI.
  13. I recently sold my 87 Dolphins and found this and was wondering if anyone would like it? Really good condition. If not I will just throw out. Thanks for everything!
  14. I just bought my second motorhome it's a Dolphin. It has A 22RE and I know nothing about it. I am looking for a owner manual. To understand the electrical system and fuses. And how to run the fridge and heater. Many questions need answers. Hopefully the manual will explain it. Thank you
  15. I recently bought the above RV. I have all the documentation except the "Chassis Operation Manual" ( referred to in the RV manual) I assume this is not the standard Toyota User Guide and am wondering where I can get one. Thanks, Chuck
  16. Hey all, I'd like to start doing my own work on my RV. I'm tired of paying other people and waiting days/weeks/hours, etc. I figure having the manual is a good start. I have a 1986 22-Re, fuel injected. I assume the manual will cover many years? Does anyone have a digital version of that manual? I hate to waste paper (and money:) Thanks!
  17. Hi all! I’m new here. I just bought an ‘80 Sunrader and I’m having all sorts of trouble finding a manual or any sort of relevant info. The thing is a frankenstein for sure. It’s a flatbed conversion, with a non-dually 5-lug rear. Got a 21r with 70k which I believe was swapped in in the early 2000s. My plan is to rebuild the flatbed and build a hoop house on top (bent wood battens sheathed in ply and fiberglassed). I’ll bend up some steel sheet for a doghouse over the cab and weld it to the roof. The idea is to have a pass through work van! Right now I’m doing little maintenance things, working on deleting all emissions and most vac lines, and I have a new Weber carb on the way. I’m wary of going any further with the improvements until I have a factory service manual though. Any resources would be appreciated! Thanks, Rowan
  18. Hi, Olygirl - I'm new here and was looking for a manual for a 91 Odyssey. If you're still around, can you send a link (the last one doesn't work)?

    Thanks!

  19. Hi everyone, just picked up an 86 travelmaster savannah, I can't seem to find any owner's manual online and was wondering if someone here knows where to find it, or even a manual for a similar motorhome that i could use for reference.
  20. Hello all! I just bought a 1983 dolphin motorhome. Everything is in working order but my problem is I don't know how to work anything. I'm looking for an owners manual...anyone know where to buy one? borrow one? anything? I've never had an rv or even went camping so I have no idea how to use everything. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Jennifer
