  1. Good job. Always like a write up like this with pictures. Thanks.
  2. I would like to add a lockable storage compartment in the area behind my generator compartment and in front of my rear tire opening. It looks like I could add something around 10 to 12 inches tall and maybe 24 inches wide and 18 inches deep. Has anyone added anything like this and, if so, what is your advice? The plan for it is all of the dump station paraphernalia. Want to keep the nasty stuff out of my storage box that my grill is in.
  3. I replaced the city water fill assembly. The check valve fell apart right before my camping trip this weekend. I had to put a solid plug in the hose fitting to get through the weekend or my 12 volt pump would have pumped all of my water back out through the city water fill. I found a replacement locally for $18.99. It is in place and working splendidly. I just wish that I had used a silicone sealant instead of the butyl tape. It caused one side to sit out. I guess that nothing is perfect.
  4. Thanks to everyone for their comments. Will fool around with it next weekend and see what happens.
  5. First camping trip this weekend and my lovely bride was impressed with amount of hot water that we could get through the propane heater while sitting in the middle of a field in the middle of nowhere. I think that she just might be convinced to do this camping thing after all.
  6. I plan on installing a fantastic fan, but...I am looking for a window that is an EXIT window and that is operable. I found a website that custom makes ones that tilt out at the bottom and are exit capable. http://www.all-rite.com/allrite-picture-exit-window-with-screen-p-954.html We are also looking at the magnetic screens that can go over the front windows also. http://theskeeterbeater.com/product/rocky-mountain/#sthash.X22jy23N.dpbs I just want to get the best breeze through the Winnie that I can. I do not plan on having the back window open as we are going down the road. I would be afraid of sucking exhaust back into the camper.
  7. Has anyone replaced the rear window in a Warrior with one that opens? We would like to get better air flow through the camper. Maybe when we are on the road also?
  8. Need to check to see if I have a spark. Got gas
  9. My Generac generator will not start this season. Will crank and is getting gas to the plug. Plug is not fouled. Does anyone have experience with this system? Any suggestions?
  10. I have been trying to get my 6 gallon Atwood water heater to fire but to no avail. I can get a little pilot flame to light if i turn the pilot button all the way to right and hold it. As long as I hold it then the little pilot light will stay lit. I hold it and hold it and hold it but the first time that I let off of it the light goes out. I have looked around on various sites and I have been led to believe that it is the gas pilot control valve. Does this seem right? It is $75 and I do not want to buy it and find out I could have fixed it with some little something. Thanks in advance for the any suggestions or comments.
  11. I assume that mine is the original that came with the camper. 1992 Winnebago Warrior. I have tried out a few of the propane systems but not all. So far the stove top and oven are good. I have not lit off the fridge and water heater. I did the gauge needle test but I think that I was overly aggressive. The manual says to charge the system and move the red needle to align with the black tank indicator. They said wait 5 minutes to see if the black needle moves. I left it charged up like this overnight and I lost a little propane. I will check the fittings with soapy water.
  12. My tires are 8 ply load C rated that were made in mid to late '08. 7 years old and I do not see any dry rot or cracking. I plan to go for my state inspection tomorrow.
  13. My 1992 Warrior only has a lap belt on the forward facing dinette seat. Has anyone added additional belts? Does anyone have a picture of the anchorage points that they could post. Thanks in advance for your help. BTW-First real camping trip to beautiful spot on the James River in Amherst, VA next week!!!
  14. I replaced the fuel line going to my generator on the 1992 Warrior I purchased last week. I must have bounced the line loose going up my mogul filled driveway. I noticed a shiny spot on the driveshaft and found the fuel line rubbing on the top of the shaft. It was almost rubbed through! After 2 trips to Advance Auto I had the thing right as rain. BTW - Never cut a fuel line without clamping it off first...I still smell like gasoline. Cheers.
  15. Thanks for the advice. The tires are 3 or 4 years old...they look good but I will check the manufacture code. I do plan to replace the belts before we take a long trip. :-) There are a few things that I need to address before we do any traveling. One for sure item is to replace the gas line going to the generator. Evidently it came loose during the ride home and rubbed against the driveshaft. There was a nice little hole that could have ended badly. Thank God I decided to climb around under the camper this afternoon!
  16. 1992 Winnebago Warrior. Deep in the Central Virginia woods.
  17. Just purchased a "new" 1992 Warrior....14381 miles on the odometer and spent 21 of the last 22 years of its life with the same family. It appears to be in great shape. I am very excited and pleased. BTW_it is our first Toyota motorhome.
