  1. TOYOTA released that spec sheet, not an RV manufacturer. Yes, the industry standard if there's no 'profile' number is NOMINALLY. 82%. All the dimensions are nominal other than the rim diameter (14").
  2. I think there's 1 factory in China that makes all the generators.
  3. Well, if my mechanic (if I had one) snuck over to my place one night and installed a different cam even though I'd repeatedly told him I didn't want it, I'd be ticked off, especially if he didn't bother to install tappets that would work. My laptop is only 2 years old and was built for, designed for and sold with Win8. Win8 is not 'antiquated and obscure'. Microsoft is still supporting it (which is what caused my problem this morning). Win XP is, unfortunately, antiquated and obscure. I think I still have Win3.1 on 3 1/2 " floppies somewhere. I don't waste my time looking for updated drivers any more. I leave that to a program called DriverMax which does it for me. They're all up to date. http://www.drivermax.com/ It's just like a Toyota? Who's infallible? Is Windows Vista Microsoft's version of the 3VZ-E?
  4. Yes, I went into my local computer store. Powered down with the 'Power' button then crossed my fingers and switched on again. All seems OK after 5 minutes. Even though I refused their kind offer to 'Upgrade' to Win10, MS did it anyway without my consent (like they did from Win8 to Win8.1). With Win10 installed I suddenly almost completely lost my sound (barely audible) and it messed up my trackpad (couldn't scroll on the right side). I managed to mostly fix the former, no luck with the latter.. After suffering through it for a couple of weeks, I finally reverted to Win8.1. Now I can scroll like before and the sound is fine.
  5. Rather than risking turning a friend into an ex-friend by maybe damaging his ECU, maybe try installing yours in his vehicle. ?
  6. New Win8.1 problem this morning. Last night when I went to shut down the laptop, my options included 'Shutdown & Update' and 'Restart & Update'. This happens from time to time but last night when I chose to shut down the screen immediately showed the message 'Keep your PC on until this is done. Installing update 12 of 27.' Not too unusual except usually it starts with Update #1 and 27 is an unusually large number of updates. So I went to bed and left Bill alone to update my Windows. Well, when I got up this morning the screen is still showing the same damned message. Still @ '12 of 27'. Any computer Nerds out there with any suggestion? Alt Control Delete does nothing. Before I pull the battery, I thought I'd ask here. Fortunately, my Son gave me his 'old' iPad 4 at Xmas, so I'm not completely shut off the 'net. ?
  7. I'd rummage around under the hood and find another relay from some non-engine related circuit and try it out in place of your EFI relay. But I'm only assuming there'll be one.
  8. Or if you feel you can't live without satellite TV:- http://www.amazon.com/Winegard-PA-2000-Pathway-White-Antenna/dp/B00HT7I54U
  9. But how safely on 1 overloaded tire? There's a reason that they're built with dual rear wheels and use tires that are rated at 1875lb @ 65psi. Personally, I wouldn't drive further than to get to somewhere safe to install my spare. It's not as though you'll find a suitable replacement in stock (and at a reasonable price) at the nearest gas station.:)
  10. That's enough for my Scottish blood!
  11. 48" seems to be a very common width for the cabover/bunk. A pity the manufacturers couldn't have stretched a few things and made it the industry standard 54"x75" double/full size. Would make life soooo much easier to buy a standard mattress (and fitted sheets). I always find it amusing when 'Homes for sale have amazing fuel economy and somehow magically have 'Queen' size (60"x80") beds. http://www.beddingexperts.com/mattress-sizes-chart/
  12. You'll like this one then! http://images.apwcontent.com/is/image/Autos/w0133-1766589_is?wid=250&hei=250&DefaultImage=noimage
  13. For the record, how many miles on the engine? Any record of the valves ever being checked before? How tight were the exhaust valves? I'm assuming there were no symptoms to warn that they were tight. Do you find it feels any different to drive with correct clearances?
  14. Not exactly a new phenomenon. $5 Rolexs in Times Square come to mind. And the automotive equivalent:-
  15. I think your problem is that you let too many people stick their noses in (20, some willing to pull 50 times!) . Proof: As soon as you were left alone with it, you figured it out.
  16. That Kohler doesn't look too confusing to me. To make the motor run, you follow the direction of the arrow. To make the choke 'choke' you follow the direction of the arrow. Now the rabbit and turtle will be pretty confusing to anyone who's unfamiliar with the fable.
  17. Sunrader foolies were attached with 5 bolts?
  18. What tyre size are you using? Same front and rear? The problem we encounter here is that the only rims readily available for the Toyota FF axle are 14" and the only 14" HD tyres are 185R14.
