  1. 007 wil go in with a minor push, 008 won't go without bending the gauge. I got rid of all my MBZ stuff when I sold my 57 180D. Do you still need the tall crowfoot wrench to set the valves on a OHC Benz or did they change things??
  2. Head for a wrecking yard (pick a part) get a complete rear end from a matching pickup. Install it and get home, then start the big search. I would change the outer bearings in the pickapart rear end and run 10-15 psi MORE in the inner tire. Your looking at $200-300. I'm sure some here has a the location of a 1 ton so keep looking. Don't forget you will need the wheels and lots of bits and pieces. Good luck
  3. 1986 Factory manual .02MM (.008") intake, .03MM (.012") exhaust. Normal operating engine temp. I set mine to .007 and .011.
  4. My 4 cylinder will go 60mph just as fast as a 6 cylinder will go 60 mph. It may take 5 sec longer to get there, but once I'm there its no problem. So if your some place thats flat its OK. The only passing you will do with either one is if your on a 4 lane road Ya gotta to remember that the Toys that your looking at have been tootling down the road for 20 years and haven't been run over yet
  5. The answer to all your question is YES, adjust the valves and check the timing chain.
  6. Depending on the model 5 sp the 5th is an O/D of 12-15% ie .85 to 1
  7. On a 400 mile drive the 4 cylinder will arrive about 15-30 min later depending on the hills. Most 4 cylinder drivers plan to travel at the speed of smell. But they WILL get there. .
  8. You have got 2 post here going on. One for a 5sp and one for electric trailer brakes. Separately they might be good ideas, together (towing with a 5sp) they are a really really bad idea. Decide which is more important and come back for ideas.
  9. On mine the return line is part of the fuel pump assembly. Maybe try NAPA for some neoprene sheet and make a custom gasket. Get some at least .090 thick.
  10. The genset should charge the house battery through the converter just like its plugged into shore power. But depending on the converter it may be only charging ar 3 amps or so.
  11. I have the oem tank gaskets. There are two of them one for the fuel pump and one for the gas guage sender. Does your tank use the OEM parts??
  12. Well you way passed the looking for gotchas. Welcome to the Club, its exclusive and getting smaller as more Toys die off. Take lots of small bites and soon it will be all done. If you start off with too big a bite then you are liable to become disillusioned and abandon your new Toy
  13. Come to the USA, find a trashed Toyota Motor home for a low price and cut off the camper. Ship the chassis home, spend a lot of money and have the only long box, double cab, dually in your country. Sounds like a plan to have something to do for several winters
  14. My Motor Home has a 143" WB. The company cut and streached a RN75. If within your auto laws, it would be simpler to do that than to swap a Double cab on to a C&C. Then install a dual rear axle under the streached frame
  15. There is an RN 61 and RN 66 also the RN 61 is 103" and the RN 66 is 112". My book does not list the RN and the Body style together so some of this is a guess. The Pickups came with 103 or 112" WB. The RN55 and RN 61 are Short chassis, the RN 55 and RN 66 are long box or an Extra Cab with short box. I don't think you could get an Extra cab with the long box. The RN 70 is a C&C Long and the RN 75 is a C&C Extra Long
  16. RN 50 103", RN55 (REGULAR OR EXTENDED CAB) 112", RN70 121", RN75, 137" The RN is part of the VIN
  17. I've got a 3 year old Trojan 31AGM for my coach battery. I like it a bunch. Be warned that it is a do-it your self hernia kit if you not careful.
  18. Rember that you want a Toy MH, you dont need one. Wait for the right one.
  19. Wacha Ya doing to the battery??? Should there be a new thread??
  20. I removeed the ugly, old, excessively dirty carpet. Because I'm under 5'11" I laid down 5/8 foil faced foam board for a warmer floor, its quieter when driving too. I covered it with 3/8 birch underfloor plywood. Then laid a single piece of vinyl. I caulked the edges carefully and now have a waterproof floor that's easy to clean
  21. [ Isn't that how it usually works. One project leads to another, and another, and another. . Thanks W, Have a great day. S Your still in the amateur stage, soon when you get to pro status, one project will turn in to 3 that need to be done simultaneously
  22. Most plumbing stores should have a small plastic on/off valve for you to use in the water supply line. BUT there should be a valve some where in the water line already , some body in the last 25 years surely has wanted to cut off the water
  23. There should be a water pump switch somewhere in the camper, if not then just unhook the house battery.
