  1. hi I also live in cny(Canastota) and am totally clueless about my Toyota sunrader. relied heavily on boyfriend but am trying to become more knowlegable as he has no interest. let me know if you find anyone.
  2. I have an 86 4cylinder automaticToyota sunraider and one of its airsprings no longer holds air. I called the local rv parts place in town and they can't get them. Has anyone bought or replaced theirs recently or able to suggest a site to look? thx pam
  3. while wetsanding off clearcoat (which i am convinced will take the rest of my life to do), I have alot of time to think. my new 86 sunrader doesn't have a working shower as the previous owners turned it into a storage area. I am thinking of turning the entire space into a big shower-able area with the toilet included in the area and maybe the sink maybe not....I'm wondering if anyone else has done this and what materials did they use? our goal is also to lighten the rv up wherever we can....so as to get the best mileage possible so i don't think i want to go with heavy materials like tile or stone. Does anyone have any ideas or pics of their own bathroom renovations?
  4. lol yeah i'm currently useing 1000 grit sand paper and have only a small spot done and my back arms and neck are killing me!!! was in a frenzy yesterday to find an easier way. so thanks for your suggestions. i will work my way through them with the exception of maybe the acetone as i have enough problems without possible scarring myself for life!
  5. hi Shanda i'm so glad you responded as i've already read many of your posts and looked at the pics of sadie.....looks great inside and out! i tried to email you prior to buying as i had questions about owning and maintening an rv by myself but maybe it never got through to you. i will get the rv repair and maintenence book..it sounds like just what i need. and i will post pics too!
  6. I bought an 86 sunrader and know nothing about rvs. Can anyone direct me to a good source of basic rv functioning? I have tons of questions but will start with basic cleaning questions. It seems that someone put a clear coat of something on it along time ago and it is wearing off in flakes. What is the best way to remove this so that I can get down to cleaning the exterior and is there a good product to clean and wax(?) the fiberglasss with once i get all the clearcoat off? Thanks Pam
  7. thanks for all the responses. I am looking at an 86 and 87 sunrader, 4 cylinder. not sure if they are fuel inj or not. they are both automatics though there are just so few of the newer model 6 cylinders around here and I can only travel so far to look at them! geez i just hope I don't find them too slow.
  8. I am a mechanically challenged woman who's decided I just have to own one of these toyota rvs. I like them bcuz they are small. fuel efficient, and a good starting price point for figuring out just how much I will actually do some rv'ing. My question is this; is there a performence difference between the 4 and 6 cylinder enigine/model? I was stuck on wanting a 6cyl as i thought it would have more power esp when going up steep grades or hills. but several people have told me this is not 'necessarily' true......and this is where the mechanically challenged part comes in. any advice, experience or attempts at explanation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
