  1. Wonder if that's the same diesel 3.0 they are going to be putting in the Ram 1500. Makes sense since Chrysler is a Fiat company now Linda S
  2. Different motorhomes have very different mounting straps. Get under there and look before you pay any money to anyone. I know I can pull mine down pretty easy and have jacked mine up plenty of times to work under there. Linda S
  3. Dodge is apparently coming out with a 3.0 liter turbo diesel engine soon. Calling it the Eco diesel. Have no figures on what it will hold yet though Linda S
  4. Was looking through Winnebago parts diagrams looking for something else and saw that in 86 at least the Toyota based Warrior came with the motoraid Atwood water heater. I have never heard anyone even mention that before. No other water heater listed, only the Motoraid one Linda S
  5. Yes That sounds like replacement is the only option. Hopefully Winnebago can at least give you some info to help find a new one. Linda S If winnebago is not helpful try pulling the tank and post a picture and the measurements. I will try to find a replacement that will work for you
  6. Yeah I thought they worked by the engine coolant circulating outside the water tank. maybe I'll just find one of those Girard ones instead. The depth is my problem. The surburban 3 or 4 gallon ones are no longer made and that is what is supposed to go there. The few left for sale now cost more than they did when they were still making them. Gonna sell the Tiger anyway. Maybe I'll let the next owner worry about it but my sale price will take a hit Linda S
  7. ABS plastic can be repaired. Depending on where the hole is you can buy a flat sheet like this http://www.interstateplastics.com/Black-Abs-Plate-Machine-Grade-Sheet-ABSBM.php?vid=&priceit.x=22&priceit.y=9 Or on a curve I have used fiberglass mat soaked in a thick slurry of abs glue and ground up ABS material I made with a rasp on my drill and a 1 dollar peice of pipe. Need a fairly open weave mat and you just paint it over again and again with the slurry. Eventually you have built new abs to fill the hole. Mine hasn't leaked since. If it is on flat part I would buy the sheet and cut to be a little bigger than the hole and still use the slurry method to attach it. Paint over several times after you get the sheet in place to make sure all is covered completely Linda S
  8. Well I don't know. I just heard that they existed and thought they might work well in my Tiger. Winnebago used this type of water heater on the Rialta too and I certainly don't think they shipped them with only water in the radiator. These are the most common type of water heater used on larger boats too. I have never actually looked at one in person. Linda S Yup I guess it does happen. Found this review immediately Seaward 11 Gal Water heater It appears the heat exchanger is leaking antifreeze into the hot water supply. Can a heat exchanger be replaced or am I required to buy another water heater? I am trying to avoid replacing the water heater because the water tank would have to be removed to allow room for removal and installation of a new hot water heater. Submitted by: Don Maybe I'll stop looking for one. Not a danger I would like to deal with
  9. So I'm assuming you need the corner roof trim? Here's a place in England that sells it. They have quite a few parts for the self build crowd so if you don't see what you need you might be able to get them to source it for you http://www.olearymotorhomes.co.uk/corner-moulding-cs105-112-p.asp Found some other places too. Just goggled motorhome parts england Linda S
  10. I've got 2 of them in my driveway so trust me the shell is a Sunrader. The curve on the side where the top and bottom fit together is very distinct Linda S
  11. Have no way of knowing if they gutted it or not do we now. Linda S
  12. Ok then I'm fine with it. Have fun. What are you putting the shell on. Linda S
  13. It's a Sunrader shell for sure. Put on a much newer truck and lifted roof in the front overhead area. Kind of funny looking but that area is way too low for me to sleep comfortably so I completely understand raising it. Neat find. Linda S
  14. What did he put on your rig. Most of these rigs don't have an extra dually spare. Did he switch the spare tire to the dually rim with the bad tire? Are your front tires a bigger size. If so he might have put a tire on that was too big for the dually rim. In that case he might be responsible. be hard to tell now though if it's burnt to a crisp. What a shame. So sorry about all this Linda S
  15. I only have 16 inches max depth to work with. Maybe I should quit looking for a lesharo one if they came with the 6 gallon. Need the 4 gallon. Lots of boats in the bay area. I'm sure one will come up. The Tigers were set up for the smallest Surburban water heater, same size in my Sunrader. I do have an extra one but I am putting that in my Nissan Sunrader. gets confusing trying to figure out what to do to which one Linda S
  16. Good then I will keep looking for one being parted out. I did find a couple but not in time to get the water heater out of them. My Tiger never had a water heater installed at the factory. Only one I have ever seen like it. There is a storage compartment there instead. It is close to the front of the camper though and not far at all from where I would need to splice in lines from the Truck heater lines. Also has a good working Onan microlite for 110 at a campsite So the heat exchanger water heater would work perfect Linda S
  17. Don't you have a Lesharo? I do believe they have engine assisted water heaters, at least that's what I was told by a former owner of one. I have been looking for someone parting a Lesharo near me because of that so I hope it's true. I intended to install one in my Tiger. Also have been searching the boat section of craigslist cause they are more common on boats. Have to find one of the small ones and they are hard to find. Linda S
  18. Well mines an 86 with wood strips still firmly attached and no visible show anywhere. I don't know where you get that from. I have been around so many over the years and never seen anything like that. back to the original issue. yes if BRP is up to the task and finishes his project and does it right I wouldn't have a problem with it. Just tired of seeing gutted Sunraders.there's another one right now in Sonora. I bought the medicine cabinet from that one when he still had plans to complete it but the timing chain broke and now he's given up. 22r engines around here are plentiful and cheap. Easy install even I think I could do. I need to find some land with a barn and I will just save them all Linda S
  19. This one was gutted to shell and rebuilt except for bathroom area http://s46.photobucket.com/user/gfrasier/library/84%20Nissan%20Shorty%20Sunrader?sort=6&page=1#/user/gfrasier/library/84%20Nissan%20Shorty%20Sunrader?sort=6&page=1&_suid=137792419254806889633136963742 This is a big file of another one but shows every step of rebuild http://groups.yahoo.com/group/minitruckcampers/photos/album/518890692/pic/list No visible strips showing from outside so that is not really an issue Mostly what I'm saying is I hope your up for it. Linda S
  20. Well I have to disagree on the furring strips. Mine are most definately glued the fiberglass coach and the best remodels I have seen used the same process. Don't know why yours aren't. Maybe just came loose with age. Linda S
  21. The table is the main problem. It can fly off in an accident and it's heavy. If I have travelers in the back the table gets stored in the bathroom. Not perfect but the best I can figure Linda s
  22. What ever it looks like from the outside it's a very cool looking little camper. Linda S
  23. A warning. Many have torn a Sunrader apart and discovered that the roof no longer had the integrity it previously had. There is a post by Karin here that discribes that but don't know where it is right now. I just don't understand why so many people think they can do a better job of making a motorhome. Your Sunrader right now is worth maybe 8 or 9 grand. it will be worth not much when your done. You may like it but have fun ever trying to sell it. The best toyota motorhome out there and I see too many of them gutted and left for dead. I'm gonna go cry now Linda S Karin where are you. Tell him
  24. You are one brave man or just plain crazy.I would trust no one with my rig at burning man Linda S
