OK so I saw pics of your rig before you bought it. At sometime in the past it has had major water damage cause lots of interior panels have been replaced. Rear around big window, front overhead ceiling. What does your floor look like. Vinyl? or carpet. With the amount of restoring I saw I find it hard to believe the floor hasn't been resupported with some plywood. Your plan to fix sounds good though and these are great little campers. Have fun Linda S

Url4Short.info Redirect When Clicking On Toyoforums
linda s replied to shibs's topic in News - Forum Help & Discussion
Comments have been removed so it looks like I'm talking to myself here. My original comment about not searching on Google for toyotamotorhomes.com info is valid though. Very often the links Google will show you don't come here and they can take you to some very unpleasant sites. We have a search function on the top right corner of the forum page. Unfortunately it only takes you to the thread that has your info, not the post. In the case of the" what did you do to your toyhome today" thread that means you have to search through 45 plus pages of stuff to find what you want. I really wish people would stop using that thread for anything good cause it's pretty much lost to us. I like Dolphinite's recent comment about opening his cabinet doors for the winter. Funny, simple, and not an intensive repair that someone else might learn from. Years from now when were all in nursing homes and the toy is long gone wouldn't it be nice if some of our cool fixes helped some kid save one of our old toyhomes from the junk yard. Only can happen if they can find them. Linda -

You seriously take that much time when a virus is downloading into your system? WIFI off is instant. Of course it took micro seconds for some virus code to get into your system so I never simply go on as if nothing happened. Better safe than sorry Linda S -

Yup it has always been an issue. If you want to find something on this site come here first and then search. Lots of viruses looking to find you on Google. Those url short things are always trying to download something and I'm pretty sure it's not good. I have shut my computer off in some cases cause they wouldn't let me click off of them. Linda S -
Apparently just enough though to make a difference. Randy was going to do his but his mechanic let him know it was a 4.3 in there so he backed out. He wishes now that he had gone through with it. Seems that small change is just enough to make the overdrive truly usable. His was a Winnebago too. I wonder if Winnebago specifically ordered the lower gearing. Not something I have seen reported on other Toyota motorhomes. Toyota brochure for that year only list a 4.10. ratio with no options Linda S

From Greg the site owner system restricts image size to 8000 kb. You can have 15 images per post. Might be something weird about the pics or they might be too big. From me Just post multiple times to get all your pics in Linda S

Don't ever junk it. If there comes a time when it's too bad to drive anymore, I'm sure someone here would love to have the shell to mount on another truck. Or you could do it. They are too cool to lose forever Linda S

Roadside assistance only works for those that stay on roads. Of course there's that cell phone thing too. Unless you have a satellite phone, no cell phones work everywhere. My girlfriend had a flat in her brand new Sportsmobile in the middle of nowhere. They walked until they could get a signal but AAA said they don't service vehicles that far off road. They finally got the Forest service to send someone out and they got charged 300 bucks for the help. 70 grand and that Sportsmobile didn't include a jack. Linda S

Definitely do it your 4 banger. Very easy job. Only 2 positions to get all the intake and exhaust. You will be surprised at how much better it can run and better mileage too. The V6 in this thread is a completely different ball game. As you can see not even professionals seem to be able to do it correctly. Linda S

90 Dolphin - A/c Option And Front Vent Question
linda s replied to shibs's topic in General Discussion
Got any skinny teenagers you could pay to get up there. At least take a piece of plywood to distribute your weight better. and crawl around no standing. Also if that vent leaks at all another winter is just going to make the damage worse. Funny a cover doesn't stop it from leaking around the edge Linda S Best option is pay the money and find covered storage for the winter -
90 Dolphin - A/c Option And Front Vent Question
linda s replied to shibs's topic in General Discussion
Well for starters it's a Winnebago, not a Dolphin. It came with a 7100BTU Ac unit that was made by Coleman. At sometime it was replaced. Just opening a roof vent is not really going to dry it out if it's really wet inside. Does your furnace work? Leaving it on for a couple of days might get things going better. If the roof has sustained damage from getting wet I wouldn't really want to get up there yet to install a vent cover. A side window cracked will let out the same moisture. But this is what you need. They come with instructions and installation is very simple http://www.walmart.com/ip/7964403?wmlspartner=wlpa&adid=22222222227010250781&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=40839972632&wl4=&wl5=pla&wl6=78653780552&veh=sem Linda S -
This one used to belong to a member of one of my other groups. These people have only owned it a short while. Jon made the front windows on this one. Camper section is in good condition but headliner in nose is kind of droopy. You can't see it in the pics. Linda S
-
Yes truth is I've never seen one in person either but love the way they look. So space ship. I love the interior fittings too. All fiberglass cabinets. Only big problem with them is the headliner. Always falls down and crazy difficult to redo because of the nose cone shaped front. Of course the curved plexiglass windows in the overhead would be extremely hard to replace too. I have heard of people getting them done by boat windshield places and one of the guys on my other group did them himself in an oven. There are a vey few bigger ones with a bump in the back and a full bathroom shower back there. Linda S

I know this one says only up to 20 feet but our motorhomes have a much smaller coach section than a full sized class C. Bet it would fit. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ADCO-RV-Cover-Class-C-SFS-AquaShed-Up-to-20-42841-/231067782629?pt=Motors_RV_Trailer_Camper_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35ccb68de5&vxp=mtr Lots of the larger size on ebay too. The designer series your looking at is much more expensive than the Aqua Shed. Linda S

I vote for the all the way on or off. Mine smells when partially on. No leaks at all when on correctly.
-
I don't think you will have a problem with the atwood as long as you measure carefully and make sure it fits the space. Just for reference your Dolphin came with a 16,000 BTU furnace. I can't find the exact model though. Maybe someone here will have that info Linda S
-
Hmm. In 1991 a furnace was standard equipment. I've never seen a Dolphin that year without one. What model do you have. Or was your furnace removed by a previous owner Linda S
-
The new spouts are a gas pouring nightmare. Almost impossible not to spill it. On my boat I bring a funnel and take the spout off. I'd rather break the law than pour gas in the lake Linda S

Make sure you winterize the water system. Then buy the best quality tarp you can and cover it. Heat inside isn't gong to stop water from getting into cracks on the outside and possibly causing damage. To make sure water drains off the roof many people make a roof peak under the tarp with recycle bins and a board across them. Then tie that tarp down as tight as you can. Maybe even double tarp it.
